========================================================== This note posted anonymously at the request of the author: ========================================================== I dreamed I had two houses. One was on a river; one was by the sea. The one by the river looked much like the one I own now, except that I was still living with my ex-husband; the one by the sea I bought from my neighbor's mother, and it was filled with all kinds of objects that I have never seen before but seemed to recognize. One of these was the dining room table, which was huge, and had the kind of dark/light wood with fancy detail I have only seen on jewelry boxes. On top of the table was a beautiful linen cloth and candlesticks shaped like calla lilies. There was a controversy about which house to live in. I wanted the house by the sea. And then my friend D. came into the dream. She was clearly my teacher; she was supposed to teach me how to read the tarot in more depth, but we were keeping it a secret from my husband. We had a meeting of people like D's circle --- I did not know any of these people, but they were clearly there for a party/raising some kind of power. We met in the house by the sea, and the windows had these interior shutters that slid over them that were bright blue, like the sky. When the shutters were closed, the room looked like it was in daylight. In the middle of the meeting, in burst a man who used to be my supervisor here at Digital. He was there to break things up. Everyone scattered. D. and I ran up the hill, and we went to a tarot reader she knew. He told my fortune with these weird, round tarot cards in cups. He went really fast and said, "That will be $6.00" and I said "You have to go over it again". He said, "I thought you knew the tarot". "Not like you". So he went over the reading again slowly, and I knew at the end that I had to leave my ex-husband and that I would live in the house by the sea. *********************************************************************** I don't know very much about dream interpretation. Would anyone care to comment?

If I had to guess, From my perspective, two of the few archetypes for dream symbolism which I feel comfortable offering is the presence of water and light. A body of water indicates spiritualism and light would be higher level of awareness. The other familiar significant symbols of husband, house, and boss are representative of figures and past life styles; that which you are leaving if you move towards the spiritual lifestyle. Track your dreams and the symbolism over time. You are the best one to interpret your dreams. If you record them regularly, the recurring symbols should become apparent. tc | |||||

In the house by the river, you were still living the same lifestyle as when you were with your ex-husband. at the house by the sea, the future is uncertain, scary, but the potential is limitless. You chose the house by the sea, the dream is reaffirming your changing lifestyle and new independence. In the dream, you are rebelling against the authority figures and so called "seers" that try to run your life! Well, anyway, that's how I see it. P.S. Dreams that include old bosses aren't "dreams", they're "Nightmares!" BillM |
