2027.0. "The Sacred Garden, Amherst, NH" by TNPUBS::PAINTER (Planet Crayon) Thu Jan 26 1995 12:34

There's a rumor going around that The Sacred Garden on Rt.101A in
Amherst, New Hampshire, 603-886-0076, is going out of business.

Just to let you all know, that's not true. I spoke with Cherrene
yesterday, and she is selling the shop to someone else who is going
to keep the same name (and atmosphere and seminars) and just move
the shop next door. She's having a 40% off sale on most items just
to reduce inventory. So I scarfed up two of the remaining three ear
candling sets, along with some other goodies including a sign that
    says, "Expect Miracles". (;^)

Cherrene is going down to North Carolina to start a(nother) holistic
shop in a plaza where there are going to be other things like a
vegetarian restaurant, etc. There aren't many things like that in the
South, and the people down there are really looking forward to her
coming so she's really looking forward to this move and said she's
leaving The Sacred Garden in good hands. The new place will be on the
Outer Banks, near Kill Devil Hills, NC. [Hmmmm...'kill devil hills'...
    oh...never mind...]

For those of you among us who could care a lick about NFL football
as I, I thought I'd brighten your day with this left brain cramp I had
    Wed nite.
Just before getting onto the interstate from the MRO complez you
go past the Holiday Inn in Marlboro. I see a sign that offers some
type of special for SUPERB OWL WEEKEND?

Brain drained from work I'm driving home thinking:

    1.	Professional Owl Show?

    2.	Wisdom of the Earth?

    3.	Did I miss a New Age Convention notice?

Yup, felt real stupid when I figured it out, but it reinforces that
I've got life's priorities in the right place.

Cindy, thanks for that info. I had heard it a few weeks ago and passed
it on to you, but no where else. When I was in there on Saturday,
that's what I was told. Plus I had heard it elsewhere. Glad it's not
true. Maybe the people who told me didn't know about the new owner?

2027.4Sacred Garden -> Ancient MoonRPSTRY::EGOLFMon Apr 10 1995 13:369

Just an update... I tried to visit the Sacred Garden this past weekend
as it was supposed to stay in business (just move next door). The
shop was not open at all. Come to find out, the entire Sacred Garden
inventory has been taken over by the Ancient Moon located on Lake street
    in Nashua.

The Sacred Garden had been in financial trouble for some time, and it finally
got too much. Unable to sell the store, the owner took off and left the area.
Some items were sold to the Ancient Moon, but by no means "all the stock".

The lady who was interested in buying the store and moving next door decided
against.

RE: "all the stock", I guess I fell for an advertisement in the

I saw Linda, the former (original?) owner of Sacred Garden at the rock
and gem show last Saturday. She is back in business and has opened
a new shop called Heartsong (which is what the Sacred Garden used to
be) in Milford. Go around the oval, out Rte 13 towards Brookline. The
shop is in a white Victorian house. (I haven't been, these are the
    direction give to me)

There is also a sign on the window of Sacred Garden telling where the
    employees can now be located.

And for anyone who's interested there's a relatively new place in
Milford called the Raven's Nest. Haven't been in yet, there was an
article in the Milford paper about the owner, Raven, a practicing
    Witch.

I've been to the Raven's Nest. It's a cool shop. She should have lot's
more stuff by now. Raven is a loving, fantastic soul. She's also Laurie
Cabot's daughter. For those who may not know it. Laurie Cabot is a
practicing Witch in Salem, Mass. She's written a number of books on the
subject and is often interviewed on local talk shows or by TV stations
looking for filler pieces around Halloween. (Samhain)
