| It's a great idea to move Intros to the front of this file! I still
| haven't figured out how to invoke that "next unseen" thing.

I don't know what software you are using to read Notes,
but for most of us, this will no longer be the 'front' of the
conference once the next topic is created, so it is pointless
for us to have another introductions note here.

Topic 16.* is the "Who are you ?" topic, for future reference.

If you have a command line interface, the command NEXT UNSEEN
works. If you have a numeric standard numeric keypad, the comma key
(just above the long enter key) performs that function. If you
are on a PC, you would have to check your terminal emulator
for the equivalent. If you are on DECWindows, then God help you.

    						kind regards,

The following two notes are courtesy of Ann Broomhead (where is Ann these
days, anyway ? I've missed her clever wit. Has she left us ?).

| I decided to write this up when I discovered that highly intelligent
| people I knew, who used Notes a lot, nevertheless did not understand
| how to use the keypad for navigating outside of a notefile (conference)
| but within Notes.
|
| (For symmetry, I have put the keypad map for use within a
| conference in the next reply, a blank map for the reader to
| extract, edit, and otherwise play with, in the reply after that,
| and my NOTES$COMMAND.TPU file and my "mental map" of my keypad
| in the reply after *that*.)

1942.8NEXT UNSEENCADSYS::COOPERTopher CooperFri May 06 1994 15:0725
I'm not trying to be cute, but you just hit the NEXT UNSEEN button.

When you first start up, though, you haven't seen any of the notes
so that NEXT UNSEEN starts at the beginning of the conference. You
can catch up so that NEXT UNSEEN goes on from then on by saying

	    SET SEEN

This marks all currently existing notes as "seen" by you. If you want
to "start" on a particular day (say, review the previous week's
    entries) you can say:

	    SET SEEN/BEFORE=1-may-1994

If you want to keep up, but also review old notes you can say:

	    ADD ENTRY OLD_DEJAVU/FILE=HYDRA::DEJAVU

This will act like a seperate conference, with a separate name, and
will have a separate "SEEN" list, but it will really be the same
    DEJAVU.

    Hope this helps.

Oh, I'm still here. I just haven't had much to say. Now I do:

I'm glad my maps can be of use.

Thank you all, Todd, Topher, Ann.

I *am* on a PC as well as windows, plus I change accounts frequently.
I will endeavor to print out the maps (another challenge ...) because
they are very useful. I move from job to job, and keyboards vary
    greatly.

    Thanks again.
