| I have been reading books by Mary Summer Rain. Phoenix Rising was one
of things to come. Writing wasn't the best but the message was pretty
clear.

| I guess I can count on some unspoken groans for mentioning
that I think James Randi's _The_Mask_of_Nostradamus_ makes a few
interesting points on the subject of Nostradamus' prophecies.

I have my doubts as well ... mainly because someone is profiting from
the sale of these prophecies. Furthermore these prophecies are all based
upon interpretation. Some of the more recent ones for example ,the
earthquake prophecy for S, California in May of '92 ?, was wrong.
It would be interesting to see the actual quatrains though ....

Ok here we go this is the one that failed to correctly predict the 1993
earthquake.

| Ah, there's the rub. Nostradamus was (even by the standards of *his*
day) very cavalier about his spelling. He even made up words. So,
translation and interpretation go hand-in-hand.

Actually, as I read it, I would read it as 1998 that whatever it is
will happen. But then, this is my first quatrin reading.

| CBS, channel 7 here in Boston at 9:00 PM tonight is presenting a 2 hr
special called "Ancient Mysteries of the world". One of the segments
to be covered is the predictions of Nostradamus.FYI

I started to watch the show, and after about 10 minutes, flipped the
channels. It felt to me like it was far too 'sensationalistic' in its
approach. For example, the 'scientists' vs. the 'strange ones who felt
the energy' in the pyramids.
Having just been in a weekend workshop with Fred Alan Wolf and Nicki
Scully (who leads initiatic tours to Egypt and the pyramids), it just
didn't compare to some of the stories and experiences that she
mentioned during the workshop.
