| Of course. It is one of the most widely read modern fantasy series.

| I even churned my way through the second series, narrated by the son of
the first narrator. It makes an interesting blend of world mythology,
Platonic metaphysics, and the ol' Yin-and-Yang, poured into a mold of
Machiavellian plotting. But I began asking myself what the point was
after a while.
I understand Zelazny has participated in writing an Amber-based fantasy
role-playing game. I looked the thing over and found it interest; it
very ostentatiously uses no dice. It is also in one (rather expensive)
book, so I didn't buy it. Maybe someday.

What is the second series, Earl? I'm currently making my way through
book 4 of the 12-or-so I've purchased - is it the second half of that
set, or another one?

If they adapt it for DOS, let me know !
Computer simulation takes away some imagination, but it adds a nice
dimension of interaction.

Second half of the 12. When the principal character becomes "Merlin"
you've started the second series.

Thanks, Topher. Still a ways to go...
I absolutely love the series. For me it's very true to life,
but then, I lead an interesting life. (;^) Not so much the
outer happenings, but rather the inner experiences, recognitions,
and realizations.

Hi Todd!
> If they adapt it for DOS, let me know !
About 10 (ten!) years ago I had (don't know were it's gone) a text
adventure with CGA-graphics based on the novel of Roger Zelazny. It was
called Nine Princes of Amber. As far as I recall, I never finished it,
even though I had read the books.

Hi Felix,
That's fine. If you happen to run across it, please let me know.
I still prefer the 'colossal cave' and the 'G.U.E.' to the flashiest
graphic animation anyway ! Maybe it's because stock animation
footage is difficult to use to convey literary subtleties. ;-)
kind regards,
