It means something for no other reason than the recurring aspect of it.
The reoccurance means it relates to something as yet unresolved.
Re: .0
Maybe if the pieces are looked at seperately: the beautiful, but stormy
backdrop; the moving clockhand coming to a stop; the golden V. What
feelings do you associate with each seperate image (e.g. to me, the
description of the storm evokes a feeling of elation and power, but may
evoke something else to you)? What else in your life evokes similar
feelings?
Good luck,
Beth

Several times in my life I have had recurring dreams. Like other dreams
they just faded in the morning and eventually stopped. Does recurrence
have to mean something unresolved every time?
I suffer from nightmares. I will get a string of them. They do have a
significance, the bed/bedroom is too hot. I wake up enough to correct
this and the nightmares go away. Is this the sort of significance you
are looking for in this case?

Don't know if I really believe that dreams can fore-tell anything...believe
more that they are a re-hash of what you see/do when you are awake. I believe
they can be a place for you to manipulate situations to your liking without
really having to deal with the circumstances or outcome. fantasy.
...but yet, this cloud, clockhand,V dream seemed out of place.....

Your dream is showing the hour that is at hand. Read the 24th chapter
of St. Matthews , in the Bible concerning the last days. Then read the
25th chapter of Matthews regarding the 10 virgins - 5 wise & 5 foolish.
V = Velocity: Quickness or rapidness of motion or action; swiftness;
speed. Rate of change of position, in relation of time - Rate of motion
in a particular directio, as of the rotation of a sphere, in relation
of time.
V can also mean VICTORY. Especially if you are in Christ Jesus our Lord
& Savior.
That is a fantastic dream! I hadn't dreamed like that in quite a while.

| Sherrin:
I certainly wouldn't say your dream means you are going to die!
You have to be careful when considering prophetic powers in dreams. If
you've seen books before, you'll see that there are dozens of
interpretations of symbols in dreams, and their meanings are influenced
often by culteral interpretations or religious beliefs. They are not
cast in gold. I certainly wouldn't worry that you are about to kick
off to the afterlife!
What that reply suggests is one POSSIBLE correlation.
There are books which have meanings for symbols. In your dream, the
clouds could be the symbols or the storm could be the symbol.
Anotherwords, you often have to take what you are told, think about
what is going on in your life, and see if it's appropriate.
Once I dreamt of a bear and one interpretation I was given was that a
bear in a dream meant that a close friend was about to betray me.
Never happened.
I have been told that dreams of teeth or mouths mean you are feeling
guilty about something. Again, I thought about what was going on in my
life and found that that interpretation didn't exactly match up.
So I would not worry about gloom and doom just because the Bible's
chapters may have some similarities. It is on POSSIBLE way to read
into the dream. Considering the Bible was written so many years before
you had this dream (not counting any possible reincarnations...), I
wouldn't suggest there is a direct correlation.

This also conveniently allows you several chances of being right. So you
wait a few days and if something happens that is in the slightest way
connected to one of the interpretations you can say "My interpretation
was spot on!" Neat isn't it.

Recurring dreams/dream themes are not always as mundanely caused as
yours are. Folks who suffered abusive childhoods, but are still
repressing the memories, will have recurring themes until the
repression of memory ends AND the person works through the issue.
Or, dreams reoccur while some emotion is currently being repressed
(e.g. dreams of violence while repressing anger).

okay - I've been told and read that the clouds mean trouble. And I believe
it. The major thing going on in my life is this
My husband's best friend of a very long time hit on me repeatedly (ina BIG way)
I finally blabbed the story to my husband about a month ago.
The day before _the_ dream, my husband confronted the friend and
terminated their friendship.
So... I get the cloud part, I may even understand the clock (it was about time
the truth got told...) but the five is what is bugging me.
ps. Anyone get AVON? I had an Avon bag sitting on my dresser. Did you ever
notice how the "A" has no line through the middle? It looks like a BIG V!

| This one isn't a weird one but I would like hlp with it, please.
I am new to replying to the notes, but I have been reading them for
quite a while. I dream often but seldom remember them, just bits and
pieces. Any way here we go.
I'm standing next to a swimming pool with a girl (that I have feelings
for) and a friend that both of us know. We all decide to go swimming,
so her and I jump in and start swimming. Thats kind of odd because even
though I enjoy swimming I haven't been in about five years. Were all
having fun when the manager comes up and tells us to leave. Well she
doesn't want to leave and an argument breaks out, I get involved
because I feel that she is right. The Next thing I know I am standing
on a diving platform, a real high one. I Look down and see my friends
down on the ground besides the pool (a different one than the first).
Iv'e never been a diver or claimed to be, but I found my self leaping
off the platform and pulling off a really fancy dive. I enter the
water and its like I can breath under water. Agianst one of the walls
of the pool I see bunk beds and on the bottom there is a couch.
I swim down to couch It's about 30 ft to the bottom, whem I reach the
couch I see someone sitting on it. I go down and sit besides him. I
feel like I've known him for a long time even though I don't remember
ever meeting him before. Then I wake up.
I have never had a dream involving water before and I have never had a
dream that was this vivid before. One note I was talking to the girl
just before going to bed and she was on my mind whem I feel to sleep.
Any thoughts on this are welcome, I don't know what to make of this.
Thanks.

| Frank,
Normally I avoid these dream interpretation requests. Dreams are made
up of personal symbols which can only be reliably understood in terms
of ones own personal symbol-ideolect, which can be consciously learned
only by a drawn out process of self-examination and comparison.
There are guideposts, however -- common symbolic themes, derived from
common experience, "obvious" parallels and cultural metaphors. These
frequently -- though very definitely not always -- mean the same thing
to different people. When you find one of these symbols in a dream
you can try out their classic meanings to see how they fit, then
modify, reject, accept or specialize that meaning as you look at your
life, feelings and other sources of symbolic insight.
Up until the end, this is almost a classic dream, one that someone
might make up to illustrate how such traditional "common" symbols might
fit together to support a single dream. So, I'm going to ignore my
usual rule about dream interpretations and give a "classic
interpretation" -- but keep in mind that it may not be right for you,
and even if it is there is almost certainly a lot of fine detail that
this misses.
Not to put too fine an point on it, this is a classic sex dream (men
especially, learn in puberty by uncomfortable experience to avoid
sexual consumation in dreams or turn the whole thing "symbolic"; women
may also, for various reasons avoid "explict sex" in some or all of
their dreams and replace it with symbolic images, but they may still
experience the full erotic sensation). In other words, at the risk of
offending someone (we're all adults here, right?) this is a sublimated
wet dream. If you hadn't said that you "had feelings" for the "girl"
I would have rather strongly suspected it (see how dangerous it can be
to tell other people your dreams ;-)).
I've been debating how detailed to get, since it really is more
meaningful for you to fit the stuff according to your own feelings, but
if you *promise* to not put too much faith in what I say as applying
to your particular case, I'll go into a bit more detail.
We start out with you and the girl at the side of the pool. There is
some ambivalence it seems, since you introduce a chaparone. But you go
through with it anyway -- though the chaparone apparently ends up
coming along to keep things from getting out of hand. Suddenly, a
classic authority figure -- representing guilt or fear of public
censure -- comes along. Your immediate reaction is to bow to that
authority, but you discover that "she wants it too" (in your dream I'm
not claiming prophecy -- this is about what's inside not outside)
enough so to be willing to fight for it. With that you decide to
resist authority and "go for it".
With that you suddenly switch to a classic penetration/consumation
symbolism (though apparently there is still enough ambivalence that the
chaparone is still connected to the pool). What do you find? A
classic trysting place -- beds and a couch.
The final figure -- since it doesn't seem to be reinforced by anything
else in the dream is less clearly interpretable. But, what the heck,
in for a penny in for a pound.
Most commonly, (though there are other possibilities even classically),
when you meet someone in a dream that seems familiar but that you don't
recognize -- it is yourself. This would seem to indicate that there is
some aspect of your feelings or your desires -- perhaps the source of
the ambivalence -- which you have not "faced up to" or recognized.
You might want to think hard about your feelings about this woman.
My! That was fun. Anyone have a cigarette?

Just an observation:
In the old T.V. show "The Twilight Zone" one of the openings for
the show has "Fast moving storm clouds", "a clock flying with the
hands moving towards midnight (or noon?)" and to add to the
correlation I think some of the episodes were a MARK VII production
where the hands with the chisel and hammer stamps a giant VII in the
stone. (This could be your "V")
Question: You didn't stay up recently watching one of those 10 hour
Twilight Zone marithons did you? 8^)
