I was equally surprised to see Mike making the difference. Of course,
*everything* already is there; we just filter out what we do not *wish* to
see.
This is a rathole subject indeed! Why is nobody replying to the entry in .0?

Aha ! The ever-present rationalistic view ? You should know that phenomena
such as "disappearing notes" <gasp> still cannot be completely explained by
the conspiracy of establishment scientific knowledge :-)

You are contradicting yourself - stop it, you'll go blind [oops, wrong
topic] - by stating "... the basenote has no author" vs. "The original note
did have an author". Now as the "original" note in a topic is, by definition,
the basenote, we have an inconsistency ... or perhaps your argument hinged
on intent ? ... hmmm ... you're on shaky moral ground now I'm afraid ...
Just because the means of creating this note was withdrawn - technical term
"notus interruptus" - the effects upon the host system cannot be so easily
altered without deep contemplation of our moral duty ... at what point do
we admit that the pattern of characters that was so easily spilt on the page
cannot be dismissed as "mere magnetic fields" but must be faced as a growing
form in its own right ?
Let's face it, how big does a note have to be for it to be recognised as
an individual rather than just a collection of bits to be "erased" with
cold-hearted precision and sent to that great null device in the sky ?
Re .12 (Arie)

Not in the least !
Consider the hologram : the tiniest fragment contains the entire image
[or rather it contains sufficient information to recreate the entire image].
Applying this view to the base note explains why we can draw a whole variety
of sub-topics from the mere impression that the basenote made on the fabric
of this conference. Hence, these are not rodent domiciles at all but are
perfectly justified expansions of the topic ! QED.
Now the question remains as to whether Cindy's .16 is an incompletely
camouflaged note or is merely suggesting we period, er, stop.

| In Czech the word "ano" means yes, this is often abbreviated to "no".
Needless to say this causes some confusion amongst English speakers.
When coupled with the way that they sell beer in the bars it can have
some strange results. First let me say that the beer is *VERY* strong
and tastes delicious. The method of getting served is to sit down and
presently a passing waiter will come by with a tray of beer, he will
give you a beer and tick your beer mat.
When you have finished a glass of beer he will come up, ask you if you
want another and if you agree the empty glass is removed, another full
one is set down and another tick is put on your beer mat. If you
decline then the number of ticks is totalled and you copper up.
Now after about 4 glasses you tend to notice that the room is not as
steady as it once was and it occurs to you that perhaps you have had
enough. So you empty your glass, the waiter arrives, ask you if you
want another and without thinking you say "no". Another beer is in
front of you and the waiter is off before your befuddled brain can sort
it out. As a result you get quite disgustingly drunk.
Jamie.

I think it is quite obvious that the basenote consists of that elusive
substance, dark matter.
If we get enough of these we can predict that the universe will someday
close in on itself (Closed Universe Model), rather than expanding
forever (Open...well you get the idea).
So you see, we can determine our own fate, based on the number of these
dark matter basenotes we create.
