| For anyone seriously interested in Palmistry, I recommend getting a copy of
"The Benham Book of Palmistry" by Wm. G. Benham from Newcastle Publishing
(ISBN: 0-87877-137-9). This book was originally published in 1900 as
"The Laws of Scientific Hand Reading", and now lists a 1988 copyright.
With 630 pages and 800 illustrations, this book appears to cover it all.
As regards crosses, the specific effect of each cross is determined primarily
from it's position on the hand. However, a number of things are described
about crosses in general. Before I relate the description of the Cross, an
important distinction is made between a "Cross" (two lines crossing more or
less orthogonally) and a "Star" (more than two lines crossing at a single
point). The following brief information is extracted from the descriptions
provided in the Benham Book.
Cross:
The cross is a common sign, and generally indicates an obstacle
which may produce a bad quality, a health defect, or a change in
the course of a person's life. The actual effect is determined
by the particular lines involved, and the position on the hand.
The effect is stronger for more deep-cut crosses, especially if
highly colored. Upon reaching the cross, the "Current" running
along the lines blows a fuse which requires a stoppage for repair,
possibly changing the course of the person's life. If an additional
line runs along parallel to either of the crossing lines (a "sister"
line), strength and repairing qualities are readily available to
resolve problems associated with the cross.
Star:
The star is an important and valuable sign. It may appear in any
location, and is sometimes a good indication, and sometimes a bad one,
depending upon its location and character. As the "Current" flows
along the lines it can burst into flames at any moment and illuminate
its surroundings. If small and even in proportion it indicates
"illumination", and if large and diffused it can mean "explosion".
While these descriptions summarize the general interpretations of crosses
and stars, any specific interpretation must also include the character of
the cross or sign (depth, color, symmetry), it's position on the hand (on
one of various "Mounts", on a finger, ...), which if any of the primary
lines of the hand are involved (Heart, Head, Life, ...) , and the overall
characteristics of the hand.
I wouldn't assume that having many crosses on your hand necessarily
indicates serious problems, as they may simply serve as stimulus points
which may force you to step out of your normal flow to consider various
other alternatives to your established views or behaviors. If you allow
yourself to go with the flow, these could be provide valuable learning
experiences. In addition, a well-balanced star is considered one of the
best possible signs, and could provide very insightful illumination.
These descriptions are clearly incomplete for any specific interpretation
(so don't jump to conclusions). They simply describe the basic principles
of interpreting these signs according to standard palmistry teachings.
Hopefully this is what you were asking for in your base note.

| See my entry 49.18, where I described palm reading. In which I highlighted
the importance of lines and mounts (fields). here I have tried to summarise
some symbols.
Apart from lines some special marks can also be seen on the palm. These signs
have very special significance. They can either brighten or darker the prospects
of individuals. the following signs are familiar on the palm:
The square and the traingles are always good symbols. Wherever they are they
activise the mounts in a positive way. The symbols, star and cross, gain their
importance according to the place or places where they are situated. The island
or the spot are always bad with no exception wherever they are placed. The
assessment is made according to the mounts where these symbols appear.
Jupitor field is noted for authority to rule, intellectual power and resolution.
If a star appears in this field Life will be successful and with contentment.
If a cross appears matrimonial affairs will be favourable and pleasing. This
field always gives strength. A grille on this mount adds momentum.
Aggressiveness will increase. A sense of self-importance or ego will set in
or grow.
Field of Apollo (Sun) is noted for Brilliance, Fame and Future. A star in this
field activises and accelerates the fortune of the person.
Field of Saturn is noted for misfortune and difficulties. A star in this field
is an indication of disaster.
Mercury field is noted for eloquence & power of Expression. The presence of
a star increases the power of expression. Intellect and intelligence will be
gained by the person during the period of appearance of the star.
A star on the Lunar field tells that the person will increase his/her sense
of imagination. On the other hand a grille will make him/her unhappy.
Mystic cross : Its appearance in between Head line and Heart line right
under the Mount of Apollo is a certain indication, that either the person has
developed sixth sense or has gained control over his five senses or has begun
to love things that are mystic or occult. I have this mystic cross on my palm
and I have had it since 15 years , since I started to indulge in Indian
mysticism/spiritualism.
A cross on the Sun field or the sun line gives fine capacity to the person.
He/She will have mastery over expressive power.
A triangle when it appears on the Jupitor field strengthens the qualities of
leadership, diplomatic powers. The person possessing such cross on the Jupitor
field , simply will surge forward in life. A triangle either on the Sun field
or near it increases one's talents, power of artistic capacity, business acumen.
A grille on the Venus mount increases the passion and intensifies the feelings
of the person. A grille on the Mercury field increases the person's capability
to do anything perfectly.

well girish you were right the crosses mean that I'm very psychic
and that I'm developing my mystic senses. I was in a class last
night and the subject was palm reading and that's what came out.
It so true too. During the time that I first wrote I have been
doing some serious study, classes, and learning more about how to
develop this talent I have. I use astrology, tarot, playings cards,
runes,and stones for divination.
