Iona is off the coast of Mull, Argyle, in Scotland. It is an early
Scottish Christian centre and has a restored Abbey. It is reputed to be
the burial place of St Columbus and is the burial place of many of the
early Scottish Kings.
For more information I'd suggest a cross posting in MARVIN::SCOTLAND.
Press Kp7 or SELECT.

1730.10 | It's a beautiful place . . . | SPI::TANNY | | Wed Sep 09 1992 13:40 | 16 |

I visited there in 1978. It's quite desolate and wild, being reached by a
large row boat from the island of Mull, which is reached by ferry from Oban on
the mainland of Scotland.
From what I remember, there are the ruins of the medieval abbey, including the
church, which is still intact. There are also several Celtic crosses sprinkled
around the island, lots of wind-swept rock, etc., but not much else. I'll dig
into my sea chest and find the stuff from my trip to see what printed material
I brought back on Iona. I think I have a small brochure from there, and will
post the info if I can find it.
Regards,
Mary

Actually, Jamie, it is quite simple. But you have declared your
intention to eschew sarcasm in favor of deceptive communication.
(hint: "Sarcasm" does not refer to simply making statements that you
think are stupid to see how many people are "stupid" enough to believe
you, whether they agree or disagree with the statement).

lessons from you in how to be sarcastic.
