| Re .0 (Bill):
This sounds like an unfortunate situation, indeed. Let me see ...
> Thats when I came in to the picture. I told them to command the
>spirit out of the house. They asked me if I would or have a friend
>of mine- who is Christian Minister- come over and command this spirit
>out of the house in the name of JESUS. They asked me what would I do
>if things started getting out of control?? Thats when I started
>thinking, I am not blessed enough to go up against a spirit that is
>very upset. We basicly left it there until lastnight.
First of all, a straight exorcism might not be the best way to handle the
affair.
> .....................this spirit came around when they gave thier
>10 year old daughter a new doll. The little girl named this doll
>something real off the wall. Then things started to happen. Seems
>the spirit keyed in on this little girl. ...The really weird part
>is that the name the little girl gave to the doll was the name of the
>little girl that died.
>
> After they found out this things seemed to get worse. The spirit
>actually started to touch them. Pushing and shoving, moving things
>around the house. ....
This begins to sound much like a poltergeist, which may or may not be the
spirit of a deceased child. However ....
>Her room also became very cold when she felt this presence.
... sounds more like a classic spirit manifestation.
Let's assume that this is truly a "disturbed spirit" in the sense of being an
upset ghost of a youngster. If so, driving it from the house would be less
effective because the spirit wouldn't be inherently mean; but rather, upset,
hurt, and confused. If that is indeed the case, then taking action to sooth
it and help it understand that whatever happened, that was _then_, not _now_,
would be a good first step.
A good first step is to burn Sandalwood incense in every room of the house
(including attic and cellar), which, among other things, helps promote
both healing and protection.
In a Christioan context (I share the faith), I'd suggest praying _for_ this
disturbed spirit, that it will find peace.

1620.3 | Maybe the mother? | POBOX::CROWE | I led the pigeons to the flag.. | Tue Feb 18 1992 13:36 | 10 |
| Just a side thought that occured to me while reading the base note and
replies is that the spirit may not be that of a poltergeist or of the
child mentioned. It may be the mother whose guilt has kept her form
moving on because she did have something to do with the girl's death OR
she may still be there guilt-ridden and full of grief because she
couldn't do anything to help/save her daughter.
Let us know what happens and hope your friend's are alright.

Too bad I don't live near your friend. I believe I'm capable of
driving the spirit out....The Bible speaks of a certain incident that
occured in the Book of ACTs - where this person took it upon himself
to cast out a deamon that he didn't have the "Authority" to do. The
end result was: the deamons acknowledged that they didn't have any
power - so they attacked those men and sent them away naked.

That's Acts 19:13-16. But in all this, the assumption is that the spirit
in question is demonic, which it might not be. Ii _might_ be; also it might
be just trobbled, which is why I suggested a prayer that it might find peasce
would be an approach. In the same perspective, Psalm 23 has a lot going for
it.

| Interesting point, Steve. Lorenzo, do you hold the opinion that
supernatural entities are automatically evil, or was there something
about this particular story that gave that impression ?

| A simple, inexpensive thing that your friends my want to try is to burn cinnamon
or cinnamon incense. I've used this in several places where there were
"Earthbound entities" and have a lot of success with it.

| Re .9 (Linda), .10 (Todd):
Cinnamon's basic uses are for protection, healing, and, um ... arousing male
drives. It's generally got a solar aspect and an active, as opposed to passive,
cvharacteristic. I find it useful in promoting healing. I think you can
equally use sandalwood, which is lunar, passive, and non-"arousing." In either
case, I think the protection/healing aspect would both quiet restless entities
and gently push them away. By contrast, frankincense, which is also solar
and active, can be used in out-and-out exorcisms. If you want to use that,
"burn" over charcoal.

To All,
Thanks for response to this note. I have recieved a couple of
notes off line and I did receive the one I was waiting for. Hopefully
this weekend, with the help of a few others, this "problem" will
be resolved. I am very nervous about the whole thing- the unknown is
just so exciting.
I really appreciate the Christian veiw point as well!
Take care and I will keep you posted!

Todd,
I believe it is a repellant. From my experience/reading/etc.,
burning cinnamon can penetrate the monadic cellular structure and therefore
can penetrate negative astral beings (earthbounds, ghosts, whatever) and
energy. Cinnamon can also be used to cleanse objects of negative energy.
I use cinnamon incense constantly and have a lot of good results
using it, especially in cleansing a "space" like a house, hotel room, etc.
