| A friend of mine was a nurse in the closed psychiatric ward of a
hospital until she retired. This was the place where they kept those
who were liable to injure themselves or others. Mostly she did night
shift. She positively hated a full moon as it tended to make her
patients much more rowdy than normal. Mind you that is how the word
lunatic came into the language.
So a full moon does seem to influence some people.

Hi Cindy!
This was a strong full moon in the Taurus/Scorpio polarity. Most
people feel full moons, however depending upon your own astrological
chart, you would be more affected by some than others. This has
been a fairly potent week for me too.

| Thank you, Carole!!!
Now I know why I've been so miserable!!! I am a Libra, with Scorpio
rising and a Taurus Moon. Full Moons usually don't bother me too much,
New Moons have more of an effect - but this has been incredible!!

| The Moon won't reach full until 17:58 EST tonight. Traditionally, it is
the "Beaver Moon," meaning the one where the little dam-builders are hardest
at work getting ready for the wintertime. More interesting, the Moon is
nearly at perigee, which means that the tidal effects will be close to their
maximum intensity and the orbital velocity will be at its fastest. It is also
closest to its northernmost point (perigee, and northernmost point, will occur
two days hence, which is esoterically interesting because the descending node
will be occurring on a waning Moon on a Saturday).

And I thought my desire to burst into tears at every sappy commercial was just
me. Yes, I too have been feeling very emotional the past 2-3 days. Looking
at the info in .5, it's no wonder. (a Virgo, but that's all I know)

| There was a 5.5 earthquake in Switzerland on Wednesday it caused little
damage apart from a few cracked walls. The root cause is Africa pushing
up against Europe, but the higher tidal pull from the moon might just
have been enough to tip the balance.

Hi Jamie,
I'm assuming that an earthquake that size is a rare occurrence in
Switzerland....is that correct?

| They apparently have them at 20 to 40 year intervals. Switzerland is
directly north of Italy which which gets quite a lot of earthquakes.
I remember I was on training is Zurich, I was leaning against disc
drive to reach something when I felt the drive move slightly. I assumed
that it was the heads seeking but then remembered it was powered down.
It turned out I was feeling the after shock of an earthquake in the
north of Italy.

| I've been absolutely insane this week. Things that I normally am able
to let roll off my back have set me off on rampages. I haven't been
able to quiet my mind at all and I've lost 3 hours sleep for the last 3
nights.
So I guess its not just me. Thanks Carole, for the astrological
perspective. With my sun and saturn in Scorpio, and now the moon
passing through....phew!

Ha! It started last thurs. By friday I kept saying whats wrong with
my energy? By Sat. I was in a deep depression, by Sun. I was in a
slow recovery (like a spiritual flu!) By Tues I was fully recovered,
but all around in my personal life I've been getting MAJOR Shocking
News! I go outside and it seems so quiet and peaceful/????????

1584.14 | Full Moon on Cusp! | KYOA::BOYNTON | | Sat Nov 23 1991 00:47 | 12 |
| In my experience, full moons within two days or so of a cusp (such as
this one: Scorpio/Sagittarius) are the most "noticeable." Meditation
at this time, especially at dawn, noon, dusk, and midnight, is
particularly blissfull.
Over the years, I have found the ten days or so preceeding this
particular cusp (i.e. the last ten degrees of Scorpio) to be very
emotionally depressing.

| It started last Friday and ended last night. I felt like I was in a
whirlpool that Murphy's Law built! Work was a zoo, my one day off I
had a tooth pulled, and my daughter and I couldn't say a civil word
to each other. I'm glad it's over.

| Hi, I knew the Moon had something to do with it! I am a Scorpio with a
Moon in Virgo and a Scorpio Ascendent. Last Thursday night I was
sitting outdoors at 1 Am trying to stop sobbing and pull myself back
to one piece. The reason? Nothing I could put my finger on but now
I know why!!

Right on, Jamie!
The moon won't bother you if you mind your own business,
keep your nose clean and never spit into the Lunar wind.

1584.20 | Strong Power Felt During Ritual | GUCCI::VTETRAULT | Not the Mama! Gotta luv me!! | Tue Nov 26 1991 15:42 | 26 |
|
I'm a solitary practioner of Wicca. On this Esbat, I decided
to go all out: had a nice ritual bath, made crescent cakes,
put on whites, etc. It was an important time during my monthly
cycle for me (because I am trying to get pregnant), and I wanted
to become especially emersed in a couple of spells around
fertility and home life.
Anyway, I was outside on my balcony (a little disappointed that
the sky had clouded over) saying a beginning prayer to the goddess.
The wind began to blow. Now, wind blows all the time around where
I live, so that in itself was no big deal. But there was something
very intense and different about it to me. When it first happened,
halfway through the prayer, I stopped and took a deep breath (kind
of a frightened, "oh boy" pause). Then I continued with the prayer
and it happened again. I can't really explain it, but I felt
something powerful. The remainder of the ritual (which took place
inside my house) went very well.
Although I often become very immersed in my visualizations and
meditations during rituals (despite a bit of a problem focusing),
the type of powerful feeling that I felt last Thursday is a rare
occurrance for me. I hope it's not the last time I feel it.
