1560.0. "Palm Reader Question" by MILPND::DANDREA (Medusa) Tue Oct 08 1991 11:36

I apologize for starting a new topic, mods = please feel free
to move this where you deem appropriate! There is probably
discussion on this exact question elsewhere...

I was wondering if anyone has any feedback on a palm reader in
No. Grafton, Mass. named Marilyn Mazurka. A friend recommended
her and I'd like to call for an appointment, (I understand there
is a 2-3 month wait). Have you heard if she's good, bad,
accurate, or anything at all? I believe the fee is $25.

    	Thanks in advance...

Marilyn Mazurka is an excellent palmist, very accurate and
well worth the investment of $25.00. That is why there is such
a lengthy wait for an appointment.

Love to you in the LIGHT,

1560.2 Whats a palmist do ?DEVIL1::JANATue Oct 08 1991 13:4120
        1560.1,

-> Marilyn Mazurka is an excellent palmist, very accurate and
-> well worth the investment of $25.00.

Could someone explain what exactly a palmist does ? I ve
seen those books "Know your future thru Palmistry" etc.,
but have only a vague notion of what its all about.

Also, how does one determine if a palmist is accurate, which
is tied to the above question, and how exactly does one go
about recovering the $25.00 invested in a palmist ?

	Jana

PS: I'm not sure how the CYOR school accommodates 'knowing
your future' with 'creating your future'. More specifically,
if one can create it, what's there to know beforehand ?

If she says you have a very short life line, then you can watch for a
discount sale on coffins and easily recover your $25 "investment".

Can someone please provide me with Marilyn Mazurka's number?
I think this would be very interesting. My life has been so
crazy lately a forecast maybe just what I need.

    Thanks

1560.6Another price question....AIMHI::ROBINSONWed Oct 09 1991 17:4712
I know this is out of the original topic, but seeing we are talking
fees here, what is the going price to have your cards read? Nothing
really fancy like your whole chart or anything like that, but just
a basic card reading? I have a few names from previous notes of card
readers, but I don't really feel comfortable with calling and asking
them for a price, and I wouldn't know if I was getting taken or not
    :-).

    Thanks,

I'd also like the number for Marilyn and also would like to know where
in Grafton she is located. My girlfriend went to her and she was
surprisingly accurate (she said to the point of "scariness").

Also, another friend of mine just had a basic card reading

and I believe it was $20. $25 max.

If anyone goes to Marilyn please post the findings here,

1560.13PERSONAL OPINIONFSOA::HLEINONENThu Dec 05 1991 15:3435

Just a quick update on Marilyn. A co-worker and I both went
to see her within the last month - though not together and
both felt that she was accurate to the point of being
unnerving. She tells you things that can't be guess work.

She predicted that an immediate member of my friends family
would pass away soon, but not someone close. Three days
later one of her aunts died, someone not too close. During
the funeral another aunt passed away, again they were not
close cause she had ben in a nursing home for years.

She zeroed right in on several of my close friends. Marilyn
points out initials or names that she sees in conjunction with
events in your life. She will ask your age before you begin
the reading since (as she explained) 1/4 on your life line
represents 4-1/2 years. She actually made small dots on my right
palm with a marker which denoted my current age, then she was
ablt to determine when certain events did or will happen.
All of the past events she decsribed with deadly accuracy
including who was involved, either by initial or name.

So far none of my future events have happened, yet I need
to wait until January/February. Marilyn provides you with
a pad of paper and suggests that you take notes. I've got
copious notes scribbled down and am waiting to see what happens.

BTW, Marilyn only does readings on women. She told me that
her husband doesn't allow her to perform readings on men.
    	I didn't pursue the issue so I don't know why ....

All in all, Marilyn is a neat lady - she's very warm and
friendly, and doesn't make you feel uncomfortable at all.
Sort of like chatting with an old family friend .... I
    	highly recommend a visit.

I tend to agree with all of you ... which is why I didn't
pursue the matter. Marilyn said directly "my husband doesn't
allow it" and before I jumped on my soapbox I decided to
    	leave quietly.

Does make one curious though .....

Before everyone jumps all over the husband, it is possible that she has
some personal reason for not wanting to do men, but saying her husband
doesn't allow it is a quick & easy way to end the subject.

    re: .18 (Mary)

She doesn't have to "do" men if she doesn't want to, of course.
But responding that way, just to brush the situation aside, is
only conducive to more backlash than sympathy. So, unless she
is particularly masochistic or self-pitying, this has no great
value, in my opinion. EITHER way, and this is the point as far
as I'm concerned, this is NOT an enlightened reply. Therefore,
to the extent that she "owns" the information she is disseminating,
I would be likely to similarly taint the value of the information.

I agree that this shows, IMHO, a character flaw in this reader.

I also think that it shows a character flaw to expect her to be without
    character flaws.

She is not, as far as I am aware, making claim to being a spiritual
leader, much less a demigod. She provides information. There is much
disagreement, even accepting her as "genuine" as to the source and
reliablity of that information. Perhaps "saints" are more reliable in
this regards than ordinary folk, but there does not seem to be a lot of
correlation within ordinary folk between how good they are at this and
    their degree of "political correctness."

If you are looking for a spiritually enlightened guru, I personally
would disqualifier her on this account.

If you are looking for a working psychic of some variety, who is still
growing like the rest of us, and who might provide some information for
*you* to evaluate as to its possible relevance and accuracy, then I
think it is shortsighted to use this to disqualify her.

    re: .20 (Topher)

I can agree with that, Topher. I tried to account for
that by indicating that for me it would be to determine what
the claims are based on. If they were to be based on her
    experience/awareness/knowledge/etc., then it would definitely
be diminished. If it were information given based entirely
on intuition or psychic abilities, then it might not have that
kind of effect. Either way, you are substantially correct,
    I think.

RE: .21 (Frederick)

She's a palmist. She attempts to obtain information recorded in the
palms of your hand, perhaps supplemented by psychic intuition.

Its time enough to worry about whether she is a worthy spiritual
advisor after evaluating the information she provides as implied by
    her "job title."

I agree with those who say that to condemn her and her husband without
ano more knowledge than what she says is wrong. Perhaps she was
assaulted by a man to whom she had given a reading and her husband
feels she may be in danger if she continues to read for men.

If any of you concerned care to find out the real reason rather than
continue speculating, simply call and ask her.....

1560.25<how did she know?>VCSESU::MCDERMOTTThu Mar 05 1992 09:0238
I went to Marilyn about 4 years ago and she was excellent. Not only did
she mention names of people who were in my life at the time but she
also mentioned names of people who would come into my life....and, they
have. She gave me names and also certain letters then went on to
    explain what each meant.

She was accurate to the point of describing a past relatinship to the
tea, right down to the fact that the guy was probably Italian (this is
what she said) and HE WAS. She said much on this topic and hit the nail
right on the head with everything she said. She told me that it would
never have worked and the reasons why (at this point the relationship
was already ove- this she did not know), the reasons that she gave were
the exact reasons why the relationship had ended. Very interesting! How
    did she know all this.

She told me that I would be changing jobs shortly and would be much
happier once I did this (which I did a few months later). She also
told me that I would not begin another relationship until I changed
jobs etc, and within one month of my new job, I did meet someone and we
are still together. Oh, she also said that his name would begin with
the letter J and it does.....also, if he had the letter D in his last
name, this name could become mine.....we are now talking about
    marriage.

There were many other incidents that she mentioned which had happened
    or have since my visit.

She talked about a brother of mine and pinpointed his life as well.
Also mentioned the name Frank and then went on to say that he lived far
away.....maybe in California. I nearly jumped out of my seat because
Frank is my best friends husband and they live in California.

I could go on and on but I will stop here. Oh, I was allowed to tape
the session which lasted about an hour.

I would definately recommend a visit. I am going to go back as soon as
    I can get an appointment.
