1551.0. "ADVICE/OUIJA" by ULTRA::JEWETT () Thu Sep 26 1991 14:03

I have read several notes (older one I think) about Ouija boards
    in this file......

Several months back, my boyfriend 'insisted' on getting this board
cause he thought it would be 'fun'...I disagreed as I have had
too many dejavu things happen to me in my life (ever since I can
remember), fortune tellers I have been to even feel that when
I arrive at their respective homes (they ask if I'm psychi). Anyway
I was afraid I would get 'hooked' on messing with this board, which
    I did.

Anyway, my sister borrowed the board and she and her friends spent
several hours using it. When I arrived at her house a couple of
weekends ago, the ghost she had contacted without me ever present
appeared on the board, (she said he always spells his name - Tom).

However this time was different, he wasn't cooperating with my sister's
questions. When she asked him why, he (the board) said "Robin" - my
sister said yes that Robin is here...she then asked why he wouldn't
talk to us today - he (the board) said "Robin Evil" - my sister said
Robin is a good person, however "Tom" quickly move our fingertips
to the "NO" on the board and still insists to this day that I am evil!

Anyway, a ridiculous "streak" of bad luck seems to occur when that
board is in whoever's house it is in. I took the board back a couple
of weeks ago...and I have had nothing but problems - things happening
very suddenly....I don't like to get 'worried' about things or
spend a lot of time wondering....unfortunately it does seem like
a lot has happened (negative) since the board has been with me.

My sister gave a message to my mother to get rid of that board, do
    you people out there agree?

Yes....If you are beginning to/have been feeling negative about the
ouija board, then you should not be using it.

Even if the problem is only how you feel,I think that is reason
    enough.

Just curious -- how do you destroy a ouija board that refuses to be
destroyed? We had a possessed board once and when we tried to put it
down the incinerator it wouldn't fit, even though the box that it had
come in went down with no folding. Then we tried to break it -- plain
old particleboard but it wouldn't break, even when I stood on one end
and pulled the other one toward me. We decided to chop it in half but
the axe had mysteriously "disappeared" from the spot in the closet
    where we always kept it.

So I left it in the hallway by the incinerator. I went back into the
apartment and realized I hadn't thrown out the pointer thing. When I
went back to throw it down the incinerator the board was gone (though
no one had come out or gone into any of the other apartments in the
minute or so that it took -- we would have heard the door). We assume
    it walked away by itself...

It's been my experience that it is not the borad so much as the
entities that are communicating through the board. Once an disembodied
entity has access to our world through the use of a board they tend to
hang around. Sometimes nudging you to pick up the borad when you are
    doing other things.

Even when you have gotten rid of the board they may still hang around your
house. If you have been incontact with a negative entity you may want to
cleanse your house once you have removed the board. This can be done
many ways - essences, candles, gemstones, visualization, etc. Select
what ever way feels right for you. Slowly walk through the house
engulfing yourself with white light and asking the entity to find
it's way to it's next level and to leave you in peace.

These poor entities usually exisit in 'no-mans-land'. They no longer
live in this world but they have not made there way to the other world
either - they are caught in the psychic relam.

They fill the range from harmless to evil. They want very much to
continue to communicate with you as it is the only way they can live.
Since they have no physical body of there own.

Speaking from experience you must be very careful. They are often
    highly intelligent and extremely manipulative.

If you would like to discuss this further please call.

Thanks for the replies, I really appreciate it. Tonite is the nite,
my boyfriend said he is taking the board away - he doesn't like the
fact that it keeps saying that I am evil (the spirit Tom) is the one
who keeps saying it....we also just realized a date the board said
my grandmother would pass away on was incorrect (she did pass away
3 weeks ago tomorrow) however we figured out that the date she fell
and was badly hurt was the date the board said she would pass away
    on....

Anyway, he is taking the board tonite, as he thinks I have another
reason for wanting it....(keeps saying someone else's name and mine)
no matter what - which aggravates him....I really appreciate your help.

    Thanks,
    Robin

If your are reading this notesfile you are dabbling with the unknown!
One way or another we all dabble with the unknown, whats really
important is to learn from others' mistakes. A well used ouija board
should be destroyed not just thrown out if possible. At the very least
you should clean out the refrigerator or put a few rotten tomatoes with
    it ;^)

1551.9A friend's concern plea...FORTY2::CADWALLADERReaping time has come...Mon Jun 01 1992 09:4028
Hi,

I'm posting this request for a friend who is rather concerned about some of his
friends and their dabbling with the use of a Ouija board. He does not feel easy
about the use of such boards himself and wishes to disuade his friends from
continuing. I have mentioned which notes he may extract as "evidence" from this
notesfile, but he'd like some response to this particular case too - I'm
doing the noting since he's very busy right now! :-)

His personal friend is a young girl whose boyfriend is engaged in the use of the
board with friends... although she has not yet been tempted to join them my
friend is worried about this prospect and the possible effects that may occur
to those already involved. He related an experience where his friends had been
using the board in an upstairs room and one of them came down to tell him that
all of the people using the board were experiencing throbbing in their fingers
and if he knew what this meant? This particular point is important - does anyone
know what relevence this throbbing reaction has?

Also, one of the people thinks he was in contact with a long since dead relation
due to the nature and explicit detail of the information received. None of the
other participants knew the deceased person, who had died when he was 11. I
know that the spirit (or whatever) need *not* have been the actual person they
think he was, but I expect the people involved were not aware of this danger.

Any advice, suggestions, references, info etc. will be gratefully received...

Thanks.

While in my personal opinion, the benefits of using a Ouija board are question-
able at best, there are some in this Conference who would not agree with my
view. FWIW, my thoughts:

	1) No matter what aspect of the pasranormal one is dealing with,
"dabbling" is not a very good idea. A problem (not related to
the paranormal by any means) is that when anyone dabbles in any
activity, the lack of discipline that generally accompanies
            dilletantism raises problems.

	2) Before I took anything a disembodied entity "said" at face value,
particularly one that answers to, "Is anybody there?", I'd need
some unambiguous way ,of verifying its bona-fides.

Probably everybody was pushing on the planchette too hard.

"Danger," or even "alternative" might be a more appropriate term. Outside of
telling the one participant about the other possibility, I'm not sure much
should be done. You can sensitize one or more participants to your perspective,
but beyond that, they doubtless will make up their own minds.

Maybe...but knowing what I know now, I'd sooner trust meditation.
Since you don't trust meditation, or likely aren't aware of what
meditation is capable of producing, then you aren't likely to trust
your experience. I know otherwise, however. Therefore, I strongly
urge you to learn how to use responsible and effective, visual
meditation as a means of clearing whatever it is you need to clear.

    bonnie,

I am sorry for your loss. I believe we are never separated from
those we love who have passed on. I agree with Frederick, please don't
use a Quija board. There are other methods: meditation (as Frederick
suggests), contact through dreams, and although I don't know much about
the subject, spiritualist mediums can help you communicate. I have
friends who have found comfort in that method.

I agree with Fred and Ro. Bonnie, the Ouija Board is potentially
dangerous. There are reports of it attracting "Evil or Lower" entities
or Spirits. Some might call them demons. I'm not here to debate the
truth or falsehood of such reports. There are others much more capable
and much more knowledgeable then myself that can answer such questions.
I would hope that any possibility of such things happening would
discourage you. Find a good spiritualist/medium, use the dream and
meditation suggestions offered here. There are strings in this file
that can help you or point you towards these methods and
recommendations for pursuing them. There is also a long string on the
Ouija somewhere near the beginning of the directory, this might help
    also.

I hope you find what you need and are happy with the results. I'll pray
    that you do.

Oh another thought. you may not need to contact your relative. The
emotional stress involved in losing a loved one on this plane is of
course very extreme. You might just need to let time work it's magic of
healing on you and let go. I know you'll never be over this completely.
No one never is. I still miss my grandparents and father tremendously
and it's been over 10 years since the last one passed over. It does
ease though. We do go on. I know some of the last statements have been
cliches', but they do hold true. Let time work it's wonders and don't
    worry.

    Holding you in my prayers,
