| I know little of auras but what I do know is that depending on your
personality the colors vary... also like if you're angry or scared it
can turn red...if your sick it becomes a pale greyish white...I've been
able to see myu aura simply by standing in front of a light solid color
wall...preferably white.. with a dim light behind me...then I
concentrate and stare at my hands and it usually shows up... It's
interesting to test what different stimulus does to it...

1438.2 | Tingly | NRCP::GERRITS | | Tue Mar 19 1991 16:02 | 14 |
| In addition to my basenote question (which I am eagerly awaiting
comments on . . . please!), I have one more.
When surrounding yourself with the protective bright light, is it
normal to feel tingling sensations in the part of the body you're
concentrating on? When imagining the light travelling from my
fingertips up my arm, I can actually feel tingling. By the time I'm
done with the procedure, I'm pretty much tingly all over. Has anyone
else experienced this?
Thanks!

Yes, Lynn, I have. If I'm 'connected' (for lack of a better term), the
tingling begins in my feet and ends up at the crown of my head. Other
times it begins at places above my feet.
Depending upon a particular situation - particularly inspiring music or
an event, this will happen spontaneously.

Lynn,
I have this experience when focusing on body parts in meditation.
Either warmth and tingling or cold and tingling, depending on what kind
of meditation I'm doing. I believe it is an extremely common and
desireable effect in most healing and meditative work.
I've never had any dreams or visions of aura, although I've tried
numerous times to develop that talent. To me, it sounds
like you found a previously hidden gift.
best wishes,

1438.5 | keep that energy flowing. | UHCLEM::BAKER | | Wed Mar 20 1991 09:02 | 13 |
| Having been treated with acupuncture I believe your aura is really your
energy field and is treated like an other organ in your body(ie,heart,
liver). Once you become aware of your field through meditaion or other
means you can actually feel the energy flowing through your body and in
different directions. The flow of energy give me a tingly sensation in
the part of the body I am concentrating on. I think it is really neat
to be able to feel and control the flow of the energy, although I am
just learning.
Sounds like you are doing the right thing. I can't really see auras
but I can certainly feel my own.

1438.6 | Could be the tape ? | UTRTSC::MACKRILL | ERR-%P-NAME-EXPIRED | Wed Mar 20 1991 09:19 | 22 |
| Hi Lynn, Yes, the tingling sensation is quite common when employing
deep relaxation techniques. You need not think of it as "light" but
simply need to sit/lie comfortably and concentrate on relaxing various
parts of your body in the correct manner. The "light" technique is a
good one to use to focus your attention on specific parts of the body.
I always liken this to a body being under tension, (sometimes for years
without the person being aware of it), then when you utilise this
technique it is as if a spring held under tension is released and it
quivers with the release of tension. The next stage is when your body
is so relaxed that it feels very heavy and almost foreign to you.
It is a bit hard to work out exactly what happened in your case but you
may have dropped off but still coming under the suggestions on the
tape. (You say the tape had suggestions to imagine light travelling up
your arm ?) It is quite likely that the suggestion interacted with a
dream state causing you to have the experience. Your sense of hearing
does not necessarily turn off when entering a light dream state.
All in all, learning these techniques are immensely beneficial.

| I have read this notes file with some interest. I cannot see any sort
of aura about myself, but my three month old daughter often seems to
have a green or sometimes blue glow about her. My wife and I have often
noticed this but no one else has ever commented upon it.This aura
appears often in bright light and if I may say so is sometimes eery. Not
being a particularly religous person or prone to belief in the super
natural I wondered if you could offer me some sort of explanation or
could tell me of a similar experience.

| re .-1 (Aaron)
The light blue in the human aura is, in my direct experiences, the
color of someone who is gathering power. I see this in my students
as they do different positive spiritual exercises. It is also
readily visible in my little one as well. It looks almost like a
low level neon light and it's the color of a clear sky at noon.
Many children have luminoscity of this color during the first 6 months
to 1 year of age.
You may notice that the whites of her eyes have a similar tint.
The color in the eyes will begin to disappear as she grows older
and get more "physically" oriented instead of being oriented to
the light from which she came.
God's Peace!
Kevin
