Good idea Gloria, I am sure about the power of thoughts.
I usually meditate for peace in the evening.
12:30 will be 18:30 for me, noted.
Love, Rita.

I think that for all it`s good intention, it would be more positive to
A, Write to your M.P
B, Attend an organised march
C, Generally be more vocal about your disagreement
The inner eye and the power of thought might be a pleasant way to
relax, but to believe that it will bring about peace in the Middle East
is somewhat naive.
Sorry to be a kill_joy .

Please join us.

Re .2 (INV_LIBRARY ... interesting name :-)
> A, Write to your M.P
Only applicable in the UK. Total waste of time & resources there as well.
> B, Attend an organised march
Good exercise - get your body into shape and help your state of mind - but
again, total waste of time (unless you intend marching around in Baghdad,
in which case it will probably be a total waste of life).
> C, Generally be more vocal about your disagreement
I don't think anyone who is in a DEC facility is capable of physically
affecting the global process active at the moment. Ditto the man in the
street. Ditto the pub. (Ditto Hyde park corner for that matter).
> The inner eye and the power of thought might be a pleasant way to

It is no more nave than believing
i) self seeking so-called diplomats are able to resolve the problems ;
ii) 'concerned citizens of the western world' can affect foreign military
commanders by means of shouting and waving a banner or two ;
iii) it will all go away if enough people write letters to the Times
complaining about it.
The power of the anonymous individual is zero. Many people believe there
is power in coordinated thought, are you in a position to deny them their
opportunity seeing as all other routes have apparently failed ?

| HOW STUPID OF ME TO BELIEVE THAT POLITICIANS ARE IN SOME WAY
ACCOUNTABLE TO THE PEOPLE WHO PLACE THEM IN POWER, WHICH EVER CONTINENT
YOU LIVE IN. IT WOULD BE FAR EASIER TO SIT BACK AND THINK ABOUT PEACE,
THAN TO PICK UP A PEN AND WRITE A LETTER.
OBVIOUSLY I`VE RATTLED SOME CAGES BUT BY THE LOOK OF IT THEY NEEDED
RATTLING.

may GOD/GODDESS/ATI keep them safe, and bring them quickly home.

| Obviously you don't know the people in this file very well. They are
very much letter writers. They are people who work very hard toward the
cause of peace or whatever cause they feel worthy of their not so
inconsiderable abilities. These are not people who "sit on their hands"
and do nothing but think lovely thoughts and hope it all gets better.
These people write their political representatives and let them know
how their feel with their vote also. They march for their chosen
causes, they also use some means that are a bit more esoteric then what
might be considered by the general public to be "normal" whatever that
means and if you think that a few minutes of silence with all of one's
thoughts directed toward the cause of peace isn't important, then I
pity you because you have never experienced the ecstasy and peace of
soul that comes with such a joint mental effort. It truly does work.
Just don't ever say that the people in here are Lotus Eaters and do
nothiongs. It just ain't so, Bunky.
Phil(who has to stop now so he can calm down and clear the anger out
before the meditation begins.)

| Obviously I`m not in the clique. However I do read this conference
frequently with interest and never in a sneering manner, as you seem to
assume. In fact you assume rather alot about what I think.
As i have read this conference I thought it was to discuss, ponder and
yes even question occasionally. I`m not sorry about what I have written
and shall continue to view this conference with interest. Anyway have
an enjoyable meditate and hopefully there will still be peace tomorrow.

Re.10 (whoever you are)
Apparently you missed 1380.12.
Now, instead of continuing your criticism, please try doing something
constructive such as providing the address of your government, along
with a letter template of your own.

| re: Gloria
It was and is still a good idea, I think. Who knows, maybe
the hostilities of battle would have started already had the
"meditators" (hmmmm, sounds almost like "mediators", doesn't it?)
not "done their thing." But by all means, don't let it stop there.
I think we should all continue to do whatever we can to rectify
this breech in peace. Sending letters is appropriate, I think.
Speaking on behalf of peaceful alternatives is also appropriate.
But most importantly, in my mind, is correcting the chasms within
our own hearts...of working towards self-forgiveness and processing
to eliminate our inner conflicts. Meditation is an absolutely
valuable way to do this. The meditations suggested are useful
and can work towards accomplishing the stated objectives.
I urge everyone to continue in the process. Those who don't
believe in the process cannot deter us.

| I will readily admit that this note doesn't really belong here,
but I can't easily think of another place to put it and I really don't
feel like starting a new note to place it. It has almost nothing
to do with "DEJAVU", except to perhaps serve as a comment on how
others in the world value life. I tie it into this note because if
not for the WAR the U.S. entered into, this information may never
have surfaced in my reality.
THe information I am printing comes from today's San Jose Mercury
(and has been edited by me.):
...Saudi law, based on the Koran, determines the monetary value
of a human life. As Muslim men, each Saudi is worth about 100,000
riyals, or about $27,000.
Were they to be Christian or Jewish men, they would be worth
half that. If they were people who did not adhere to a monotheistic
faith, they would have been worth a quarter of the full amount.
Women are worth half the amount of their male counterparts.
The amount changes over time because it is based not on an actual
dollar figure but on a specified number of camels, and the price
of a camel rises and falls.
Saudis, however, do not like to accept any money for damages or
loss of life unless they are forced to by financial necessity.
They have a totally different idea of personal injury, as opposed to
the American who puts on a fake neck collar to go to court.
They believe that if they accept "blood money" for a tragedy,
they're back to even with God and could fall victim again. But if
they suffer it without compensation, the same tragedy probably won't
befall them again.
