In real love you want the other person's good. In romantic
love, you want the other person.
- Margaret Anderson
The expression of real love is so easy between grandparents and children -
and between good friends it passes effortlessly. But why is it so hard to
share real love with a spouse or lover? Why, instead, do we want to
possess them? And from them we dream of selfless devotion. Yet neither
possession nor devotion guarantees the security we long for.
Real love is not selfish; it frees both the giver and the receiver. Knowing
we're loved sustains our hearts and diminishes our difficulties. It doesn't
bind us, yet paradoxically it bonds our hearts. This encouragement to
grow, to change, to dare to depart if it's for our own good, are expressions
of real love. Real love is never ownership, only stewardship of this
moment's experiences.
Let's be gentle with one another, and love fully with trust, as a child
loves a grandmother.

| re : .1,
I really like that, too. I've always wondered about the urgency
in a sexual love relationship and how it changes the character
of intimacy so often, creating a compulsiveness and possessiveness
at times. Transforming the union into something more trusting
and less urgent seems to be a key step in realizing the perfect
union of souls that we easily recognize as an aspect of divinity,
and the glue that holds us together as one.

FRIEND
You met me in the spring time,
when our hearts were light and gay.
You walked with me in the
sunshine, though we each
had to find our way.
We grew with many showers
that caught us by surprise,
but found a hint
of springtime, and hope
in a new sunrise.
We dreamed along with a
summer breeze and took
warmth from sunlit sands,
we pondered the mysteries
of life's sea which set our
sprit free.
We passed through depths
of autumn days with it's
color and it's glows.
We found there is a cycle
that each life has to flow.
We felt the weight of winter
days it's beauty and it's bounds.
We learn't a lot about
ourselves through our ups and
downs.
We past the seasons into years
and still it's you and me,
But how much better it was
for me, because you made it we.
NATURE'S DOOR
Looke to the beauty of a rose,
look and see it's petals fold.
It's colors deep, it's strenght beneath
Nature's glories it does reap.
Look to the tree of glorious green,
tall and upright it reaches the sky.
Aroma seap and freshens the heart
Nature's nest, it's house a new start.
Look to a cloud, fluffy and light
our minds at ease, they flow like a light.
The color is white, the sky is blue,
Nature's dream does come true.
Look to the waters all set in there place,
shimmering ripples they hold in place.
Energy fuses with the time of new dawns
nursing our lands with nature's hand.
Look to the sun shining and bright,
to natures land it adds a delight.
Warmth of the sun entwines with our beings
penetrating rays for the depth of seeing.
Look to the moon held high in it's place,
surrounded by stars, a royal place.
Closer the heavens and nearer the gate,
the dieities reign with all in it's place.
Look to man, all colors and forms,
look to the man who heart enthrones.
Value the senses we all possess,
pause for a break and take leave of
the rest.
All is one and one is love,
so hear the song of the cooing dove.
Energies fly, our spirits soar,
we possess the key to Nature's door.

I like to think that nearly all things have some sort of
a life cycle -birth, growth/change, death. I also like to believe that
there is a force common in nearly all things -spirit, soul, will,
pranya(SP?). That is why the concept of "All That Is" appeales to me.
This excerpt from a note file (somewhere) is taped to my
work station. The author is unknown to me.
Love
is an expression of the willingness
to create space
in which something is allowed to change.

God is Energy. Love is the highest energy. God is love. God is the
highest source of energy which exists. There is no such thing as a
disbeliever in God. Every man is searching for energy and God is
energy. The energy that is God, however, cannot be studied and
observed like the energy of electricity. God is a subtle energy, a
force beyond the grasp of the mind and the senses. God is infinite,
incomparable. His energy never began, nor will it ever end. God is
the highest energy, the source of all energies. For this reason there
is only one God.

What is est training?
I especially like that quote because what it means to
me is that I don't *have to* like someone in order for me to act in
a loving way.

Miracles, by Walt Whitman
Why, who makes much of a miracle?
As to me I know of nothing but miracles,
Whether I walk the streets of Manhattan,
Or dart my sight over the roofs of houses toward the sky,
Or wade with naked feet along the beach just in the edge of the water,
Or stand under trees in the woods,
Or talk by day with any one I love, or sleep in the bed at night
with any one I love,
Or sit at table at dinner with the rest,
Or look at strangers opposite me riding in the car,
Or watch honey-bees busy around the hive of a summer forenoon,
Or animals feeding in the fields,
Or birds, or the wonderfulness of insects in the air,
Or the wonderfulness of the sundown, or of stars shining so quiet and
bright,
Or the exquisite delicate thin curve of the new moon in spring;
These with the rest, one and all, are to me miracles,
The whole referring, yet each distinct and in its place.
To me every hour of light and dark is a miracle,
Every cubic inch of space is a miracle,
Every square yard of the surface of the earth is spread with the same,
Every foot of the interior swarms with the same.
To me the sea is a continual miracle,
The fishes that swim - the rocks - the motion of waves - the ships
with men in them.
What stranger miracles are there?

|
I recently read a book called Rathma, in which the words of
this great Spirit are reported by a channel.
Rathma lived in India very long ago, the Indians often call
him Rama.
Here is what he tells about God and the beings : Once God contemplated
himself and the beings emerged from this contemplation. The beings were gods
that could create anything by their thoughts and emotions using as substance
God himself who is the substance of the Universe. So they created the
world with all its beauties.
But they began to be jealous of each other and to be in competition,
although each being had exactly the same qualities. Then they started to
create many varieties of things, trying to do better than the others.
At the same time they wanted to experience their creation deeply,
they decided to create a shape where they could live in, it was the human.
It took a long time to work on this shape, but finally they succeeded
and some of them entered the humans.
In the beginning the bodies were living for long periods and were
never ill, but the illusions of death and illness gained the humans,
and even after the death of the bodies, they wanted to go back to the
material world, because they had forgotten their real identity.
Now, the human beings are working on recognizing that God is the
loving substance of the Universe, that there is no "good" or "bad"
but only God and gods experimenting ...
Each experience is an opportunity for us to become more and
more wise. The god inside the humans is not spoiled by any experience.
God loves us so much that he will always let us do what we want
to, and never judge. The human beings thoughts and emotions are still
the causes of everything that happen, although number of people have
forgotten that.
Some beings have escaped from the limited condition, because they
have experienced everything and integrated those experiences with
their emotions. Rathma is one of them. One day, like him we will remember,
and emerge from those experiences with more comprehension and conscience.

There is a Universal Intelligence. It is everywhere, runs
throughout every strand of reality, every plane of existence.
That's why is is Universal.
It is all-knowing. It's body of knowledge is the Universal
Conciousness.
It's awareness is distributed throughout various, localized
manifestations of awareness. These exist throughout every
plane of existence.
These localized manifestations of awareness have their
own localized consciousness, knowledge, and intelligence. The
aggregate of all consciousness, knowledge, and intelligence posessed by
the localized maifestations is, the Universal Conciousness.
And these localized manifestations of awareness, taken together as a
whole, comprise the Universal Intelligence.
The driving energy behind this process, is Love.
