I believe all of the above derived from the fact there were 13
original American colonies, which became the 13 original United
States. There were also 13 stars in the "Betsy Ross" American
flag for the same reasons, and thewre are 13 stripes in the U.S.
flag to this day.

| in Bellevue at the Koll center, there is no 13th floor. it is called
the 14a. so I guess Digital is a bit superstitious?
BTW, at this site "seo" the Digital floors are 14a,14,15,16,17,18 and
so on....

Hi, Jim -
My office is on floor 14A of the Koll building. My understanding
is that a particular employee complained about having a
13th floor and, so as not to offend this individual, the
floor was renamed `14A'.
And, on a good day, you can still see Mr. Ranier! ;^)

Actually, not using 13 in the floor numbering scheme of buildings
is pretty common - stemming, I would guess, from the superstition.
In fact, in my early college days of architectural engineering it
was even mentioned and discussed in class as something that was
just accepted and done regularily.

| Before anyone moved into the Koll Center at SEO it was determined to be
no 13th floor. That was the info I got.
