I'd like a copy too. I had Astrol.exe once, but lost it in a
disk crash. It had a nice diagram at the end which helped me
find the planets in the night sky...mwr

1312.14 | Any really spif software for VAX out there? | KAOFS::RODERMOND | | Thu Aug 13 1992 00:32 | 29 |
| Hi everyone.
Lets raise this issue again. I have on my wall a chart (mine) that was
produced by someone called Neil F Michelsen, address San Diego CA. This was
produced back in '79. Its looks like a laser printout with nice perfect
circles etc., with planets in all the right houses. All on a single sheet of
paper.
Is there anything VAX based that would produce say a .PS file that would
output a chart once the proper inputs have been provided?
If there isn't such a thing (for non-profit may I add!), what software
packages are available that will produce charts such as these?
I would prefer MAC based, as I have a friend who has all the required
hardware. An address and approx price for the software would be nice.
Are there any closet astrologers out-there who are programmers? After all, we
"Have It Now", and our hardware now has all the capabilities to do what
Mr.Michelsen did way back then on his PC.......
Any pointers would be appreciated.
Thanks, and waiting with holding breath for some C++ or Basic program that
will do all the graphics!

I have a vax-based executable available, if you are interested.
I bought a software package for my Macintosh. Cost is just under $300.
If you would like the address and phone number of the company, let me
know.

1312.17 | ...on a related topic... | BTOVT::HARAMUNDANIS | | Thu Aug 13 1992 15:13 | 20 |
| If this is the appropriate place to ask, I am also looking for MS-DOS
(preferrably for MS-Windows) based Astronomy and Astrology packages. If anyone
knows of any (and I am not looking for basic software) please point me to the
company or source. It would be much appreciated as I have been looking around
for a while and have not found any (I'm probably just looking up the wrong tree!)
For an Astronomy package, I am looking for more than just showing the
constellations and the arrangement of the planets. I am looking for something
that I could use to determine the Astronomical (and Astrological for that
matter) positions of the planets at any given point in time (past, present, or
future). The more graphics, the better, and the availability to print.
For an Astrology package, I am looking not only for the above, but also to be
able to compose complete natal charts for individuals as well as couples.
Any information on the above would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks and regards,
Sergei

| Poking around this notes conference and in the MR4SRV::ASTRONOMY notes
conference, I have found good references to software packages that I have
already called and will receive brochures on:
ASTRONOMY notes conf. note 1051.25 Stargaze by CEB Metasystems, Inc.
DEJAVU notes conf. note 1113.1 Astrolabe
However, if anyone has more, or better, references for MS-DOS/MS-Windows based
professional software packages, please let me know.
Thanks and regards,
Sergei
