1308.0. "Any comments for my friend" by JAIMES::MARTIN () Fri Jul 13 1990 12:17
This is something that happened to a friend of mine. Does anyone have
any comments?
This friend's mother died this spring. The mother used to spend time
visiting with her daughter and had her own room. The mother also had
three radios. When she died, each child received one of the radios (my
friend, her sister and her brother).
Recently, this friend had company staying with her and decided to sleep
in the bedroom that her mother had used (in order to be near the
children who were visiting). While resting in this bed, she said she
had a feeling of peace that she has never felt. Also, while there, the
radio that had belonged to her mother started playing. She said it was
very beautiful music (obviously a station that her mother listened to
regularly while visiting) but had no idea why this radio went on in the
middle of the night (2 a.m.). She just left it on because it was
beautiful and peaceful. However, her sister told her that the radio
she received started playing in the middle of the night also (but they
don't remember the dates so don't know if it was the same night). She
tried to turn it off several times and it came back on. (It was a
religous station, also something the mother used to listen to.) When
she couldn't get it to turn off, she pulled the plug. Since that time,
she has plugged the radio back in and has been unable to get it to
work. Neither my friend or her sister know if the brother has had
anything happen with the radio he received, but intend to ask him when
they see him next.
Any Comments??

| I was wondering if her mother died suddenly. When reading this I was
reminded of a cousin who died suddenly in an auto accident. He was
very close to my sister and we believe that he paid her a last visit.
My sister was awaken in the middle of the night, which was Sunday morn
1:am. What woke her was a very cold feeling on her hand and then saw
what seems to be a person, but it looks more like a cloudy white figure
of a person. Well she was so frigthen that her husband had to walk her
thur the house to prove to her that no one was in there. The next night
they both heard a noise in the livingroom, they got up and found the
rocking chair rocking and the window wide open. They did not leave the
window open. That following Wednesday we got the phone call that our
cousin had died early Sunday morning around the time she was awakened
Nothing like that ever happen again. This is why I wondered if your
friend's mother died suddenly or without saying her final good bye to
her children. Did the brother ever hear the radio play? And has it
happened anymore?

The mother died of a heart attack after finding out that her nephew
(who she raised as a son) died in a plane crash. My friend went to the
mother's funeral (out of the country) and it was a month or so later
that the radio incident happened. I haven't talked with this person
lately, so I don't know if the brother had any similar experience.

Sound to me like they were clock radios. Nontechnical people might
accidently cause the alarm to sound in the middle of the night and
then be unable to get the radio to work later.
