What we had in mind was to sing/chant some selections
from some of the better known religions of the world.
The intentions being, to have fun singing songs in different
languages, and to realize that they are all
essentially saying the same thing.
Is it O.K to be doing this at the party?

Is it OK? Are you kidding? Did you read the base note? I've been
*starved* for music since I've moved here. The more languages the
better! I've got half a Ph.D. in anthropology/sociolinguistics - what
that means is I dabble in lots of languages and don't do any particular
language very well.
And there's plenty of room for those who would rather do something
else - I'm a firm believer in free-form parties. (I've heard a wild
rumor that there are people in the world who would rather talk than
sing.)

| Saturday is the day! 2 til dark/whenever. Bring/wear your swimsuit.
Would like to get an idea of what people are bringing - I'm not into organizing,
basic category is sufficient: main dish, dessert, drinks, etc., so we'll know
if all the bases are covered. I have memories of potlucks that were nothing
but dessert...or nothing to drink....
Hints for those who are undecided: right now, only one dessert and no one
bringing drinks. (But feel free to bring what you want!)
If you've already mentioned what you
are bringing and the category hasn't changed, no need to write again.
