1257.0. "Initiation into Hermetics by Franz Bardon" by NOVA::EASTLAND () Thu May 10 1990 18:03

My goal in adding this note is to make any serious students aware of the
works of Franz Bardon, who died recently in the 1950's in Czechoslovakia.
He has published 3 works:-

   Inititiation into Hermetics
   The practice of Magical Evocation
The Key to the True Quabbalah

These 3 books correspond to the first 3 cards of the Tarot, each of which
represents a whole system of perfection. The books are utterly practical
and incredibly difficult. From my own experience I think a prepatory path
would be wise, perhaps centred around the "Golden Dawn" meditative path
workings and so forth.

I visited the publisher, Dieter Ruggeberg, in Wuppertal, West Germany
about 15-20 years ago. I have not kept in touch, but suspect that the
books can be obtained from Watson's in London (if they are still there
 - haven't been near Charing Cross Road lately), or Sphinx in Cambridge.

I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has studied Bardon.

That's Watkin's not Watson's. They were still there when I looked
recently. Their address is (I think) Gees Court - but in any case
it's easy to find, just go up Charing Cross road from Trafalgar
Square and turn into one of the small courts on the right. It's
    a nice bookshop.

I've read them chris, a long time ago. I too did the Golden
Dawn first. Interesting stuff. I'll check through my library
and see if I can find any of them. I think I got them through
    Llewelyn publishing.
