| I wish to apologize to all future generations for my
generation's inconsiderate, pompous misuse of natural resources
and wholesale destruction perpetrated on this fragile planet and
its atmosphere.
May it be rectified and never happen again.

I don't know what happened to my earlier reply to this note, so
I'm writing again. The town I live in had no organized activities
for today, so Michael and I decided to do a little local cleanup
ourselves. We live on a hill above a lovely pond. Unfortunately
a lot of people park along the causeway to fish and whatever, and
many of them leave lots of trash behind. I've made some attempts
to have the town do something about it with no success. It is so
disheartening to see so much lack of respect and unconsciousness.
While I was raking and bagging, I went through an array of emotions.
Mostly there were tears but also there were songs that sprang from
my heart. I had a most powerful image of Mother Earth in the form
of an old sick woman and as each piece of trash was removed, it
was as if I touched a very sore wound on her body and she cried
out in pain and in relief, knowing that someone cared and was doing
something. At one point I felt so alone. There were people around
fishing and whatever who had little curiousity for what I was doing.
But then I realized that there were many in the spirit realms with
me, and also hundreds of thousands around the world who were working
right along side me.
Thank you all for any action you took today to heal our Mother and
for the future actions you will take. This is only the beginning
of a long and sad, joyful and inspiring journey that we all must
make in our own way.
Love to Mother and to you,
Carole

| Seems funny that secretaries get a week every year (well deserved I
might add) and the Earth get 1 day (every 20 years).

That was nice Carole and I sense that you, in fact, were feeling
what our Mother is feeling. Whatever the pain, whatever the cost,
She must be healed and it is us (not they) that have to do it.
Thanks for taking the time to heal a few of Her wounds. It, along
with all the other thoughts and actions, made a difference that I
want to believe was felt by all life and that all life celebrated in.
We need to live in this way everyday. I hope this becomes an annual
event that can serve relink us with the beauty and magic of our wounded,
but still loving Mother.

| Reading through this note, I was also wondering "why only every 20
years???"...someone mentioned 10 years, but I heard that the last one
was 20 years ago. I don't think we've gained so much attention with it
that that interval is appropriate yet. Here's hoping we have many
more!
