I guess that this is a fancy way of saying that there is a full moon. Tides
are usually higher during the full moon.

| Twice a month, at the new moon and the full moon the Sun, Moon and
Earth are in a straight line. That's 24 times a year. Dunno if either
body is at perihelion relative to any of the others (very close due to
the orbital paths); when the moon is at perihelion the tides are often
higher than usual, and if this happens during a new or full moon
they'll be quite high.
For the full moon to be on or around the 13th of a moonth is considered
quite wonderful in some circles, 13 being a number of sacred
significane in the lunar cycle (there are 13 lunations in a single
solar year, not 12). And Friday is the day of the week traditionally
thought to be "ruled" by Venus. A full moon on the 13th of a month
that happens to be a Friday? I'd apply a little love potion and get
ready for action, myself (noodge-noodge-wink-wink-know-what-I-mean?).

I love the title of the note - while the word for fear of thirteen is
probably best spelled triskaidecaphobia (or triskedecaphobia, in the
anglicised version) tristadecaphobia is probably closer to the feeling
that some people have in the face of their fear of three-and-ten!

| On the news tonight they were talking about the alignment of the sun, earth
and moon, and stated this only occurs every decade and this was the closest
the moon would be to the earth for a while.
And because of this, hurricane Gerry (Jerry, Jerri?), could turn out to be
worse than they anticipated.
