I don't know it I'd call it demonic. Perhaps chthonic is better. In
some reasonable esoteric systems a viable shortcut to the higher
spiritual realms exists by going down into the lower realms. Please be
aware that your present belief system colors negatively any chthonic
experiences that might benefit you.
The entity you saw or experienced in the semi-disemodied state is
called the Guardian. It is the shadow form of your fears and hatreds.
My experiences are pretty much the same as yours with different
details. I think that ultimately, during physical life, the shadow or
Guardian has to be intergrated back into your being. Jung has much to
say on this.
Please don't let it discourage you. That only generates more fear for
the Guardian to feed upon.
As a suggestion please break up your writings into paragraphs. It's
difficult to follow a train of thought over 100 lines.
I'd be willing to converse with you on this either in mail or here. I'm
on vacation now until the 26th.

Could someone define "Demonic Realm" and "Chthonic Realm" for the
lay-pagan, so we might discern some difference between the two?

| Isn't "lay-pagan" an oxymoron? ;^)
Anyhow, FWIW, chthonian as defined by my encyclopedic dictionary
has to do with belonging to the underworld or divinities of sub-
terraneous regions.
I suggest this is the source of Heavy Metal; but then again, I could be
wrong. Again, demonic has to do with forms evil takes and really
nothing to do with the earth except folks notion of where *down* is.

Probably. But that's just my opinion from the ones I've
dealt with. :-)

I'm not so sure the source is as subterranean as it is
sub-human.
