I am writing about a dream I had a few days ago. I encourage any
comments and similar stories. First, I would like to mention an
experience I had when I was about 7 or 8.
I was in my bedroom wanting to be alone and started just staring
at the wallpaper (nothing special just some indecipherable [sp]
pattern). Maybe I entered another part of my mind (I'm not sure
how to describe it) and I was seeing a scene of a yard and people
walking around (I can't remember if I heard noises or not).
And then I just sort of snapped out of it.
My dream:
I was in a crystal store and they had all sorts of stones, etc.
I like the ones that are cut in half and the inside looks like
the soft sand you find at the beach. I guess I thought in the dream
that if I found the right one, I could gaze into it and have the
same experience I did when I was little (or scrying even).
I did find one which when I picked it up and gazed in it, I saw
a Catholic church scene - a couple kneeling in front of an alter
and a priest. The priest was holding something gold in his hand
which looked to be a halo-which he was going to give to the man.
I put it back because that was my old religion which I no longer
like to identify with. Plus the stone cost about $95. That's about
it.
Maybe my subconscious (younger self, higher self,... [anyone?])
want's me to find such a stone. Comments, suggestions, similar
stories would be appreciated.

Kim,
The experience you had as a child is very common. I exprienced
the same thing when I was nine. It is basically self-hypnosis and
is entirely natural. In your case, it seems to have accented an
ability in telepathy or other psychic experience that made you
pick up some scene. It is a misconception that all things picked
up psychically have to be dramatic. Mine are often quite ordinary,
like what rerun is going to turn up on TV or who I'm going to stand
on line behind at the supermarket.
The dream you had could have several conotations. It could be a
prompt from your sub-conscience (or who ever) to make you remember
your childhood experience and clue you that you are to develop it.
Maybe you should study something about self hypnosis or work on
developing psychic ability or OBEs. The crystals that you discribe
are often used as a focus point for hypnosis.
The fact that you picked up a catholic scene when you have turned
away from the religion could mean that you have distanced yourself
enough now to go back and look at how that part of your life has
affected you and did you throw the baby out with the bath water.
These are just thougts, take them as you please.
