929.0. "My Dreams" by FHQ::THOMAS () Wed Dec 14 1988 13:06

    Hi,

This is my first time writing in this notesfile, so please be patient
    with me.

I seem to have this reacuring dream (every 5 to 6 months) and I
was hoping someone could help me with it. Here it goes.

It is always the same theme, I see myself sleeping and feel a presence
in the room, sometimes i feel it sitting on my bed, or as in the
last one (two days ago) brushing by me. Well anyway, this thing
whatever it is starts to creep into my body, starting at my feet,
and I can feel it moving up (like waves) and I start to panic.

I start fighting with myself to wake up, but I can't move, and I
start quoting parts of my favorite Palsm from the bible "The Lord
is my light and my salvation Whom should I fear?" and I feel myself
screaming this and other phrases to make this go away. Finally after
what seems like a long struggle the presence goes away, without
fully taking over me. This has happen a number of times, but
sometimes the presences is chasing me, or (as in the last one)
    suffocating me.

Can any of you help me with this?

    Much Thanks

That's a scary dream! I too use to have a recurring dream and until
I understood it, the same dream would occur every several months.
Here's what a psychology teacher taught me. Concentrate on the
object (in your case this presence). Relax and let your mind skip
from descriptive word to the next. When you hit on the right word
you'll know it and understand the reason for this recurring dream.
It worked for me. Hope this helps you.

    Hi,

    >..................... This has happen a number of times, but

    >suffocating me.

The "suffocating" sort: if you find it difficult to move and/or
breathe, this might be a form of the "hag in the night" phenomenon,
which has been touched upon in other notes.

This seems to happen a couple of times a year? It might be worth
reflecting on the circumstances of your life around the time this
phenomenon manifests itself;' it could give you a clue.

Since your method of coping with it works, keep it up. Possibly,
if you don't do it already, as protective prayer before you go to
    bed would help.

I used to have a similar dream. To the point.., are you under stress?
Do you have some one trying to controll you? Do you know someone closely who
drinks. Are you undergoing a change of circumstance? I think its a usefull
dream. My dreams of possession use to occur even after I woke up once. Anyhow
keep yelling, and good luck!

929.5Objective or SubjectiveMAMIE::RPOLANDFri Jan 13 1989 19:0928

    Re 929.0

There are two types of dreams. Objective and Subjective.
You must ask yourself which this is. If it is a subjective dream
then there is something within you that you must recognize, confess,
profess the revelation, and allow your soul to be changed (your
mind, thoughts, emotions, perspectives). If the dream leaves an
impression upon your being that this was real, Then objective dreams
must be dealt with in a different manner.

If you determine that this dream is objective. That is it is
outside of yourself and your own inner mind then this is my advise.

When you wake from this dream Rebuke the Evil One in the Holiness
and Authority of Jesus Christ. But only if you know you have this
Authority. If you do not feel you do then seek out someone who does.
You may have the Authority to put these things under your feet.
    To overcome them.

To be afflicted by spiritual beings is not uncommon only unspoken.

I have been in similar situations and ones far more bizarre.
To battle that force you experience in your dreams when one is fully
cognizant is far more terrifying. But there is the Way, full of
the Wisdom and Courage and Enlightenment.
