Usually the intent has to be a little more focused than that. Under
any circumstances, if you're going to do something like that, you'll
have to refrain from using the foil until you've had it zapped (i.e.,
it should be "virgin").
I'd've held out for an epee. ;-)

drive the sword point-first into the block of stone.

This is a GREAT idea! not only will you have a magickal
Sword but you can attack from right angles, or around corners!!
but seriously, I have some friends who are in the SCA
(and admit it) who have asked me about this. I have come to
believe that the best magick is to take a sheet of cloth and
cut the entire alphabet into the cloth in 10 seconds or less.
(Do this where your opponent can see you prior to the match)
Another good one is to have your protective tip fall off.
(try to do this so that your opponent can see it but the
judges dont.)
Actually the best thing to do if your not up to
cutting the alphabet in that time yet is to give your foil
a personal name. Wonder through a dictionary with a def. of
names in the back and find one that conveys the message you
want to get across. Abaddon or Apollyon mean "The Destroyer"
I think, and Jabez I think means "Bringer of Pain". You could
also go with Curtana (sp?) Which was/is the "Sword of Mercy"
(it had a flat tip and sharp edges/ (no jab just SLASH!) make
a visit to your local library and dig up any old book on Arms.

Ah, such pointed replies! I think I'll name my foil "RUN AWAY!"
in honor of my current style :^)
While I'm here, I'll plug the Nashua (DEC) Fencing Club, which meets
on Wednesdays from 5:00 to 8:30 at ZKO (Spitbrook)...instruction
available in foil, �p�e, and sabre, also bouts in same. Beginner
to advanced. Next meeting is on the 30th of November. Contact
POOL::EIKENBERRY for more info.
Hmm...if I'm fencing electric, maybe I could conceal a small Tesla
coil on my person...

| The spell that you ask for is a T.K. earth class, 3rd order or higher,
depending of how complex the interaction is that your looking for.
As far as i know, there are *no* spells of second order or higher
in existance or in practice, at the current state of the art. It looks
like you are out of luck for a few decades at least.
