| Tell me, are you particualarlt attached to this aunt or vice-versa?
Could you elaborate on this "flip before floating" while meditating,
I would like to hear more about this.

Yes, she has been like a grandmother to me. Latest report is that
she is doing ok now and is sitting up. She is still under observation
though.
I am not an expert by any stretch of the word, but I will try and
explain the same as it was to me. Unfortunately that will include
a short dissertation on how to meditate as well, because I learned
them together as a unit.
Sit in a comfortable position and place some sort of a fixed light
in front of you in a darkened room. (I started out using a pen light
but switched to a candle) Focus on the light and continue doing so
for as long as you can. If you are doing this properly any images
around the light will become fuzzy, and your eyes will become very
relaxed. Imagine that the light is coming toward you, and picture
that light as the end of a tunnel. You should be taking deep breaths
in through the nose out through the mouth in a slow pattern. Think
of the sound of your breathing as waves on a beach. Once the light
is close enough, close your eyes and imagine the light on your forhead
shining in. Look into the light and watch. After a little while
you should see images floating by in the light. Feel yourself standing
at the end of the tunnel and in a fluid thought, fall off the edge
of the tunnell into the light, imagine yourself curling into a fetal
position, then flip over and stretch yourself out straight and float.
The flipping sensation should feel something like when you are in
a swimming pool, and you dive down to the bottom curl up and spin
under the water, and then push off toward the top nice and straight.
I was told that it is not necessary to flip before you float, but
it is recommended to a novice (like myself). I have found that
if I didn't flip before I floated, I couldn't control where I am
floating to.
The primary purpose behind doing all this is to develope your 3rd
eye. As you are floating, you can do age regressions, visit old
friends, and basically peruse your life's past. You can also do
some very scary things like my instructer has me doing. You can
view images of things to come. The scarry part is in knowing too
much about your own future, or the future of someone you love.
There is a limitation though. The images you see can be as clear
as day, but alas through our own mental limitations, we will cloud
them on purpose and jumble them together. My instructer has been
teaching me to interpret the images I have been seeing, and every
day I work on it, the more I keep myself from clouding these images.
Perhaps someday I will get to the point of being able to see the
images in my future as clear as the ones in my past.
My instructor has been teaching me other things as well which I
can't go into right now because I have to go.

| That's really fascinating. How long have you been practicing this method?
I'd be very interested in hearing any other experiences you've had.

| Re .2 I am amazed at all this explaination and appreciate your
elaboration of what's involved. I have read of similiar experiences
in that they were referred to as "Astral Travel". From what I
understood one "extended" themselves above their physical bodies
through a "cord" which could stretch. I have also heard references
to "development of the Third Eye " and the implications/possibilities
inherent in having such capabilities. Could you furnish me with
more references?
Thnaks ever so much.. Joe

Fascinating! Thank you for sharing that.
Can you also please explain how one would complete this meditation?

It is strange that you mention the "cord", but when you do "flip"
it gives you a sense of control as in a safety line which you can
use to help in your projection. By the way the more common term
I believe is "Astral Projection" rather than travel, because we
are not in effect travelling anywhere, but rather we are "floating"
or "projecting" ourselves into a dimension where all things coexist.
Some things which you can find there can be described as real, unreal,
past, present (very hard to see), future (easy to see hard to
interpret), and the hard part is to separate what you see and how
to sort out the good from the bad, the important from the unimportant.
One note though which is very important, when I told of what happened
the other night to my instructor, she told me that I should try
and avoid another situation like that again. She said that it is
one thing for me to view the images of the ethereal dimensias, but
as a novice, it could be very dangerous to participate in what I
see. She would not explain more than that and said that I would
understand in time.
As far as the 3rd eye goes, I didn't choose to develope it until
I couldn't repress it anymore. ( Alas but that is a story for another
time)

| Indeed your experience is something and I too would be left feeling
as baffled at your intructor's comment. I am unable to reach your
node via VAXMAIL to converse offline on other issues. I do beleive
your name is Dave. Indeed the third eye is something else to talk
about another time.

| I also have tried to reach your node via VAXmail to "talk" more
offline.
Please contacyt me, if you're so inclined.
Thanks.

I would like to add a note about my instructor. She used to be
very active in the field, and due to skeptic persecution, and her
dislike of the lime-light, she withdrew from the public eye altogether.
She has taught classes at times, and has been known to lecture at
colleges. But for the reasons listed above, sho does not do so
anymore. Out of respect of her wishes, I cannot tell anyone who
she is. She has a masters in the arts, and is considered and rated
by those who know her as an expert.
I didn't find her, she found me. I was at an Artifacts convention
when we met. I walked into the auditorium to hear a lecturer and
simply chose a seat. She was sitting on a chair in the front row.
I had gotten there a little early, and there were about 10-20 people
in the room. I was thinking how crazy I was to be there in the
first place, when she got up walked straight toward me, called me
by name and told me that I wasn't. She then proceeded to tell me
that 95% of the people who go to those lectures wish they could
do the things they hear about, and that I wasn't one of them. I
have been studying with her since.

| re: -.1 I see now why she chose anonymity. Publicity can be dangerous
for "readers". I know one and discourage forthright explanations
when the question "How did you know *that*?" pops up.

made to drink.)
