YO! David ...... I am a contract writer and just recently came back on board with DEC. I just now 8-26-88 1:45 pm read your note in 764.10 and I must say that HONESTLY DID! recognize it for the satire you had originally intended. Where are the perceptions of the Childeren of Aquarius? As you later went in and delved wioth such depth and accuracy into astrology, a fundumentalist christian would never know of such things as they believe (I think) that even to simply read a book outside the nature of reading not proscribed by the Bible, I believe they consider near to "sinful" as well as the very reading of which would place their "souls" in "jeapordy". Why father (70 years young) actually believes that my sci fi books by authors such as Heinlein (sp?) Asimov, Tolkien, and MANY others are all handbooks for ritualistic Satanael-inspired black devil worship. Do you all in this file realize just how long and hard my mother and I laughed when he layed this one on the table???? :-)) It's easy to react, it is much less easy to perceive-consider-and reply. Fundumentalists are locked into an action-reaction system of behavior. Let us -- the Childeren of the New Age and Enlightened thinking -- be ethose who lead rather than follow! Samurai Writer

What did your father say when you asked him for documentation? (Or had you learned your lesson already. :-) ) Reminds me of a story told by a friend of mine. He (Tom) was talking about Creation with a friend of his after church one day. Darwin's Theory came up and his friend said he didn't believe a word of it. "Why not?", says Tom. "No *proof*", said his friend. Don |
