| My wife, Ellie, is to undergo major surgury for the correction of
an increasingly painful condition of 8 years duration. The scheduled date
for the operation is Aug. 5th.
My request, is that you ask, pray or (in whatever way seems appropriate),
request that the highest guidance be sent to her surgeon Dr. Bernie Siegel
before, during and after the surgery. After meeting him and having read
his book, I know he would not mind my asking this.
Also, any prayers/requests/meditations to God/Goddess/All-That-Is that
she have a complete and successful healing and that there be the best
possible outcome for all involved, would be most appreciated.
Thank you,
- Bill Keefe

I will be thinking and praying for your wife as she goes into surgery
and sending her and the surgeon positive energy as well as yourself
as you go through this stressful period.

I am asking for all you DEJAVUer's to send along your positive
vibrations to help me as my girlfriend and I just recently broke
up. I feel like an emotional basketcase as I want to get back with
her and I it looks like we might not. I have a lack of concentration,
loss of sleep and appetite, and just feel down and out with the
LoveLossed Blues.
Thanks

Will be sending you positive energy. I just went through the same
thing. After almost seventeen years, the lady I had been with left
because she didn't fill independant enough (still doesn't make
sense, to me anyway). If you have vacation time, take some and
spend it with a friend/s or relative/s that always give off good
vibes. I spent two weeks with a cousin and her husband and now
I can look ahead with positive views and plans.

| Bill,
Thanks for starting this note. I would like to ask those that read
read it to seriously consider sending positive energy, praying,
etc. It's a wonderful opportunity to give as well as to recieve
(remember, some believe that you get back threefold what you give!
:) ).
And I would also like to ask those that request assistance to give
us updates as the situation unfolds. I find that in my own life,
this can be a useful way to make "connections" between the inner
and outer worlds and see how they interweave.
Blessed be,

| As a follow-up to .1 -
Technically the operation has been successful, in that the doctor was able
to do what he had hoped. In fact, he said it turned out better than he
had thought it might. The next phase is to get her healed without the
stitches breaking or becoming infected as they have in the past. Her
weekend was very painful as it took some juggling of medication and
prodding by me to get it changed. Hospital bureauracracies are hard to
motivate, but her pain was at a tolerable level when I left her
yesterday. The doctor said the first 5 post-op days are crucial,
although he's amazed at how well she's coming along.
We both want to thank all of you who have kept or still are keeping
us in your thoughts.

I'm going through some really heavy emotional 'stuff' right now,
dealing with a lot of old pain which seems to go to depths that
I can't even quantify. I'm not comfortable laying open the details
here, but it's really scarey stuff - as evidenced by the fact I've managed
to totally repress it for 25 years. The part I'm going to deal with
tomorrow is awfully big, and awfully frightening to me (I've been running
through every avoidance behavior in the book.) Any extra positive energy
you could send my way would be appreciated. I feel like I've just about
used up my courage quota, and I really do want to keep working through
this stuff and not turn intellectual on myself and quit.

We all do that. That fact that you recognize it tells me you've

We don't have courage quotas. Courage feeds itself. The more you

Alison,
One thing you might try when you feel really anxious or scared
is to close your eyes, take a couple of deep breaths, and visualize
blue. If you have problems with just visualizing the color, blue,
try visualizing a crystal-clear sky...... This can really calm one
down.... It works for me!....
I can really relate to you. I've gone through an awful lot this
year - re-living and releasing the past... I know it can get real
tough, but believe me, it is worth it. I've grown so much, and feel
so much better about a lot of things. Hang in there!....
Much love and light -

| Hi Alison,
There has been times in my life where I thought I coulnt get any
lower. It seems that it was at these times that I found within myself a
reserve of energy that would pull me thru, and,I would come out of it
with a new outlook, and,a feeling that I had grown in some way. In order
to tap that energy I had to take some time alone,in a peaceful
place, where I could examine it,and, refocus my efforts toward positive
feelings. Sometimes the light is hidden by fog, but,if we concentrate on
seeing thru it by focusing ourself on it,it will be visible, and, will
guide us thru the fog. Take care.
Peace

Thanks for all the responses, here and via mail. I really appreciate
it, and you have made a difference. I woke up this morning (early 'cause
of a 9 am appt (i am a night person)) and felt not only good, but also
awake. Which was really good because the appt was where I had to face
the stuff which was/is frightening for me, and facing it with an awake
brain is much preferable to facing it with a sluggish brain. I made
some forward progress today. Now I feel like I'm standing on the
edge of a bottomless abyss, instead of sliding over the edge. The
ground around the edge is still quite crumbly and my footing isn't all
that solid. Eventually I will have to cross the abyss, there is no simple
path around it. (Sorry this is so cryptic.)
Another way to explain how I feel is that yesterday I was afraid I
was going to lose myself. Today, I'm still afraid of what i have to
face, but I don't feel like i'm going to lose myself anymore.
Thanks for helping.

This reminded me of a book I have read. It's called "Love, medicine and
miracles" by Bernie Siegel. Let me quote him:
" .... To begin that true healing, each of us must make the leap of faith
" described by French poet Guillaume Apollinaire, who once wrote:
"
" Come to the edge.
" No, we will fall.
"
" Come to the edge.
" No, we will fall.
"
" They came to the edge.
" He pushed them, and they flew.
You will manage....

"Experience the pain. Let us not fear its impact on ourselves or
others. We will not shatter, for we are not objects that can break.
Nor will we get stuck in this pain for it is dynamic, it flows through
us. Drop our defenses, let us stay present to its flow, express it --

The heart that breaks open can contain the whole universe. Your heart

I spoke with Jane this morning. She had a comfortable night. She will be

and I was in error. She had a natural valve put in place of a

She will be having another valve put in place tomorrow. She will be in

and unable to receive visitors for awhile. I will keep you posted as to

I have a request.... My 6-year old cat, Mandy, has tongue cancer.
She is going to the vet tomorrow for an EKG and bloodwork. If these
check out fine, then she will be having surgery on Tuesday to remove
a lump from under her tongue that is at the base of the tongue, and
to remove the right side of her tongue (partial amputation). She
has about a 50-50 chance of recovery. (Without the operation she
has no chance....she'd have about a month.) If the vet gets
all of the cancer, then she will have a normal, healthy life. If he
does not get all of the cancer, then she will only have a couple more
months. There is also a slight chance that the cancer has already
spread to her chest (her latest x-rays do not show this, but it only
takes a couple of cells....), or her tongue may not be able to function
in which case we will have to put her to sleep. So-o-o, the operation
is all we can do....
Mandy is my favorite kitty-cat out of my crew (7 cats, 1 dog), and she's
my dog's best friend. I'm quite upset over this, and would appreciate
any prayers, good thoughts, light, etc. She's a tan and black tiger
(seal point tiger), not a very big cat - about 8 lbs., has beautiful
green eyes, and is on the fluffy side....
Thanks....
Will keep you posted...

I just found out that a dear friend and former colleague, Margaret
deacon (with a small 'd') died a few weeks ago. We worked together
at GIA HQ. about 10 years ago - she was the voice comm manager there
until she retired.
Earlier tonight I called her, hoping to go to visit her this weekend,
only to find out from the nursing home staff that she had passed
away a few weeks ago.
She was suffering from a degenerative disease, and it was difficult
for her to cope with it all. I know she is much better now, but
still I'll miss her and was really looking forward to seeing her again.
