Is it ethical/proper to post an advertizement in this conference,
supported on a DEC owned machine? Sounds very interesting, however,
I wouldnt want to see any "corporate policy" problems crop up...
Concerned,

I suppose I should have put a disclaimer in to avoid just such a
question. I'd contacted the author of the original note and asked
specifically that question before putting the note in. The author
of the original note claims no financial interest in the game. To my
knowledge, such a note is therefore within guidelines.

| The zip code given in the original base note for West Groton was
incorrect. I've reposted the note here with the correct zip 01472.
Also, for anyone who is waiting for information on when the game
will be available, I've been informed that there have been further
delays in getting the game silk screened and thus the game won't be
available for at least another 4-5 weeks.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The following is cross-posted from the Holistic notefile with
permission of the author. A couple of things for people to note:
1. The game is or will be going to production soon and "should
be ready" in late June or early July.
2. You can send mail to the address at the end of this note
requesting an advance order or you can request to be notified
when the game is actually available.
3. There will also be a shipping/handling charge.

Note 264.0 NEW AGE GAME No replies
DRUID::GRAVES 95 lines 19-MAY-1988 14:25
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HI ALL,
I believe that this conference is the correct one in which to
tell about "The Game of Endless Possibilities", which a friend of
mine invented last Fall, and is now in the late stages of produc-
tion. Actually invented is not accurate, as the game was dreamed
about one night in late September. The next day she wrote for
six straight hours and actualized the dream in print.
In her nascent advertising she stresses that the game is a "New
Age Game of Self-Transformation", and can be used as a "Workshop
in a Box". I found the game to be so. It was fun to play and
yet provided many opportunities to connect with my own and fellow
players internal process and belief systems. If you take advantage
of all of the different aspects of the game, it indeed is a workshop.
Another way of putting it is that the game is a healing process
that is fun. The closest game like it is Scruples, but Endless
Possibilities has its emphasis on spiritual growth and health.
Supposedly the first production run will be sold for $20 plus
tax. Another good thing is that like Ben & Jerry, 10% of all
profits will be donated to life enhancement organizations. Also,
there has been strong interest expressed by therapists who have
played the game in using it in their practices. So the assertion
that it is a workshop in a box is not all that far fetched, or as
expensive as a typical New Age seminar.
From here on in i'll let my friend Patricia speak for herself by
quoting from her brochure.

(Comments made by people who've played the game.)
When an infinite number of individual snowflakes gather together
on the dead branches of apathy and despair, they can break those
branches and change the landscape of the World.
In Frank Capra's unforgettable movie, "It's a Wonderful Life",
Clarence the Angel earns his wings by performing a miracle for
George Bailey. After seeing what his small world would have been
like if he had never been born, George realizes how profoundly his
one small life has affected his family, his town, and consequently,
the world.
We may all be seemingly powerless snowflakes of fluff, but together
WE CAN perform miracles, break the branches of apathy and despair, and
earn our Angel Wings*********

747.5 | Update of game release | IDAHO::GRAVES | | Thu Nov 10 1988 12:43 | 8 |
| In case anyone's wondering about when the game will be ready,
well, the last I heard, there were a few problems with the silk-
screening company (delayed because of a large backlog in other or-
ders,I think)but from what I here it could be ready maybe as early
as late Nov. or early Dec.(1988). I'll be talking to the inventor
soon, so I'll let anyone who's interested know if there's any other
changes or delays.

| Thought I,d let everyone know I was over the inventor's house
on Saturday, and saw the finished silk-screened sheets for the game
board and the box cover, and I must say I was very very impressed.
It's definetly first rate work. I thought the art work was so good
that I told them they should have T-shirts made up with the center
of the game board on it, but she told me she had already covered
that too! Well anyways, I'm really looking forward to getting my
hands on one of these games....It still looks like just before
Christmas before they'll be back and ready to distribute. It'll
be a great Christmas present to buy for you last minute shoppers
out there!
Happy Holidays!

| I spoke to Pat on Sunday and she said that the first run will
be for 500 games. They will be going out thru local shops. If
you are interested in the game you could contact them and tell
them about your local shop so that it could be stocked there.
I met her and her husband for the first time on sunday. It looks
like it could be good game to get that old COMMUNICATION going.
The second run will be for 500 games and will cost $24.00.

From: 38599::EMITIS "ETHEL MITIS (ET)" 9-DEC-1988 11:02
Subj: "ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES"
Hi Bill,
I invited Pat and Riley to attend the services at the First Christian
Spiritual Alliance Church Of Massachusetts in Shrewsbury (Note 920.0),
they graciously accepted the invitation and attended Sunday's service.
I found them kindred souls, deeply spiritual, and quite philosophical
humanitarians.
The Game of Endless Possibilities reflects this. Our congregation
was interested and very pleased with their game. I am in complete
agreement with Note 747.4, the game does have "endless possibilites."
I have ordered the game myself, it is an excellent form of self
evaluation.
Could you please add this to the notes file?
Thank You,
Ethel Mitis (R.C.M)

| I just got off the phone with Patricia and she has heard from the
printers that the game will be done in 1-2 days. They have also agreed to
ship out 200 games, next-day air, so that they will be here by the end of
the week. More news later when the games *definitely* have been shipped.

| While this could or should be a separate note, I'd rather
not validate religion by so doing, so I'll just add this here
because in some ways it's related (it's a "game", after all, isn't
it?)
There is a new board game out being released now called
"Fleece the Flock". It has been inspired by the shenanigans
of the ministries that Christianity seems to pretend aren't
there...namely the Jim Bakker and Jimmy Swaggart types.
In this game each player is given $50million and a collection
plate and gets to try to buy tv stations, theme parks, etc. while
attempting to bankrupt everyone else or else expose their
"peccadilloes". One of the cards says "A magazine of rival evangelist,
REPENTHOUSE, wrecks sales of your magazine, PRAYBOY...pay each player
$100,000."
...games modeled after "real" life...such fun!

Frederick,
Any mention of who is receiving the profits?
If the game was invented by the Bakkars, Oral or any of that gang,
then the very last laugh might be on us afterall.
