| Dear Mouse,
You might want to ask that question in note 660...I wish I had the
answer but someone in the astrology note might know.

704.6 | Astronomy Vs. Astrology Not To Be Confused | BORIKN::ESPOSITO | | Wed Apr 27 1988 02:05 | 16 |
| Venus appeared to be almost touching the tip of a beautiful Cresent
Moon, it's true I saw that the other night from my vantage point
here in the Caribbean! I believe the question was asked if there
was any Astrological symbloism . . . not really. There are
"Astronomical" explanations as to the "wandering planets" and there
movements across the heavens Venus in particular. You might give
a call to your neighborhood Planetarium for an instant up-date!
You should be able to procure that
in any World Book encyclopedia under "Planets". I can't help but
stare up at the Heavens and marvel at His handiwork. There is a
grand scheme to the cosmos, and a supreme logic to it all. There
are subtle laws that physicists spend a lifetime trying to understand
that govern and influence the physical universe around us. There
are relationships between the stars and who and what we are some
say, while others can see ones destiny written in the palm of your
hand.

Well, you're just plain wrong there. There *is* a symbolism there.
Astrology symbolism is a reflection of 'the whole'. (That *same*
whole you thought I had lost sight of over in the 'four body system'
topic a few minutes ago?) Oracles like Tarot or Astrology work
sychronistically, that is, the symbols just happen to fall in a
way that has meaning. (The *value* of the meaning is arguable,
of course.) I, personally, believe that since God created everything,
that we can perceive meaning *anywhere* we look, even in the random
fall of cards, or the 'chance' positions of the planets in the sky,
since each is a part of the *whole*. It may be that we project
the meaning, or that it is out there and we discover it. Whichever
it is, the meaning *is* there. The symbolism *is* real.
You seem to have rejected astrology while having only the dimmest
understanding of what it is.

704.8 | There is a relation. | CSCMA::SNOW | | Wed Apr 27 1988 10:23 | 6 |
| Well someone in the astrology file found an answer to his question.
The way in which the moon, venus, stars etc. is situated has alot
to do with astrology..You should read the astrology file, you'll
learn alot about how they are related.

704.9 | a blue moon | GNUVAX::BOBBITT | My shoes are...on top of the world | Tue May 31 1988 15:28 | 8 |
| Just a reminder - this morning there was a BLUE MOON.
a blue moon happens when there are two full moons in the same month.
So when people say things happen "once in a blue moon", well now
you know to look out for them, eh?

See Note 285.* on some further discussions of lunar influence.
I mention it because of its title.

704.11 | moon conjunct venus | EXIT26::BISHOP | | Tue Oct 25 1988 14:25 | 15 |
| re .3
I remember this conjunction last April,
The point of the crescent almost "touching" Venus
If you can figure out what sign the moon was in that
day, you can look up what this "means" at your local
library in the astrology section, or ask an astrologer.
Aside from this there was a full moon last night that
"Really" reminded me of Halloween.
Hope you caught sight of it
Maria
