Hi Joe,
Have you ever looked into numerology? I know there is a note in
here somewhere where this was discussed in more detail. In numerology
it is assumed that the soul chooses their own name with cooperation
from the parents, and that the letters of the name correspond to
numbers. When these numbers are reduced to single digits (except for
11 and 22), you have the soul urge vibration, the expression vibration
and the quiet self vibration. You can even create charts that trace
the physical, emotional and spiritual influences over the years of
your life, and do some forecasting into the future.
The one area that I found numerology to be very useful is in the
case of twins. I have twin nephews who were born 5 minutes apart.
There astrological birth charts are almost identical, however they
exhibit some very different characteristics. These differences
showed up using numerology. If you have an interest in this area,
I would suggest picking up some books on the subject. Two that
I remember are "Your Days Are Numbered" and "The Numbers of Life"
(sorry, I don't remembers the authors but I can check at home
tonight).

| Without numerology, some aspects ofg names are interesting. For
instance, some names have explicit meanings (e.g., "Dorothy" means
"Gift from God," "Fletcher" means "arrowmaker," and so forth) and
some people deliberately name their children to follow the meanings
of those names. If you're interested in that aspect of names,
periodically someone publishes a book full of names and their meanings
(some of the "name the baby" books do this).

The author of "Numbers of Life" is Ken Avery. I've retired
at least two editions of that text, since he first published it.
I use "Numbers of Life" as Quick reference because of it's
extensive coverage of the topic.
I can furnish a source for this manual if so desired.

| Re: .3
I remember the excitement of finding that names had meanings when
I was 10 years old. I eagerly looked up mine, and was dismayed
to find that Marcia is a feminine derivation for the name of the
god of war (Mars = Marcus = Mark = Marcia). My given middle name
is Louise, a feminine version of Louis, which also means "a bold
warrior". Add to that the fact that I was born on a Tuesday, the
day of the week ruled by Mars (the French for Tuesday is "Mardi",
or Mars' Day), and I was beginning to wonder if I should have been
born male!
However, if what my mother subconsciously intended was to give me
strength to survive, well, my names have certainly given me that
in full measure.
I recently (a few years ago actually) discovered a name that suddenly
resonated in my consciousness and I decided that this would be my
soul name. Not only did it have a meaning reflecting a special
female perspective, but also reduced numerologically to the number
of my birth date. I'm not sure whether or not to ever come forth
and call myself by this name in public. I would love to someday
be known as who I really feel I am, rather than a hammer-wielding
warrior. :-)

"Hammer wielding [or welding as the case may be :-)] warrior" is
a great phrase, but it doesn't refer to Marcia = Mars. It was the
Norse storm-god Thor rather than the Greek war god Mars who carried
the hammer. I've seen Mars portrayed with sword, shield and spear
but never hammer. The traditional correspondent for Mars within
the Norse pantheon is Tier the Swordsman (hence Tuesday from Tier's
day for the latenate Mar's day).
Thor as storm god and leader (their were two competing versions
of the Norse mythology, what has survived has had Odin as chief
but, judging from evidence like place names and runic inscriptions,
the Thor branch was more common) corresponds to Jupiter (as recorded
in the names of the days of the week).

| re .12,
I don't have much knowledge about the Runes, but at least
I can tell you this;
The Runes were the runic letters in the ancient germanic alphabet,
it was moulded from the greek and latin letters, and is known
from around the third century.
I think the runic alphabet was named FUTHARK...
I saw that the norse god Odin was mentioned in this conference;
in the ancient times there were some special places here in
Scandinavia, where men and animals were sacrificed by beeing
hanged upon the sacred trees. The human victims dedicated to
Odin were regularly put to death by hanging or a combination
of hanging and stabbing, the man being strung up to a tree or
a gallows and then wounded with a spear.
Hence Odin was called the Lord of the Gallows or the god of
the hanged, and he is represented sitting under a gallows tree.
Indeed he is said to have been sacrifised to himself in the
ordinary way,as one can learn from the weird verses of the
Hvaml,in which the god describes how he aquired his devine
power by learning the magic runes:
'I know that I hung on the windy tree
For nine whole nights,
Wounded with the spear, dedicated to Odin,
Myself to myself.'
Talking about the runes...,it is said that the Vikings(Leif
Eiriksson) were the first to "discover" America.
About 40-50 years ago a rune stone (stone with runic inscriptions)
was found somewhere in the states, don't remember where..
The historians were of course exited, thinking that this was
the final proof for that the Vikings really were the first to
"discover" America. But upon further investigations,it turned
out to be that the runic stone was just a fraud...(someone must
have had a really good laugh :-) )

| On names ... I've always felt uncomfortable with my name. I often
don't register when someone calls to me, because I "forget" that
that is my name. Weird? I've wondered if I'm subconsciously rejecting
the 33 (numerological), because I don't know if I can handle the
burden, or if this is a carry-over from a former life ...
Recently a friend was regressed into a life where we were also friends,
and alas, my first name was the same then as now.
Anybody have any ideas?

re: .14
> ...the 33 (numerological),....
The only numbers that I know of in numerology that are almost always
used as double digits are 11 and 22 - these are master numbers.
However, when these numbers come up for a person in their name or
date of birth, there is a possibility of reducing them to their
single digits of 2 and 4 if the person is not able to work with
them on their higher vibration.
I have never seen the 33 left as a double digit - it should always
be reduced to 6.

538.16 | 33 as a higher octave? | REGENT::WAGNER | | Mon Nov 16 1987 09:20 | 24 |
| One of my references indicated that the number "33" is the number
of Jesus. I can't remember how they derived this at the moment.
As a higher octave of the "6" it would seem to indicate that the
energy is available for a larger scale responsibility toward
mankind. Look at the responsibility that Jesus took upon himself.
It seems from my references that numerologist believe that the chances
of someone living up to the full potential of "33" is virtually
non-existent, thus don't consider the "33" as an attainable number.
i can understand why. I've known only one person who has that
life path number, Although she didn't live up the the energies of
the 33, she definitely was the martyr. Perhaps the energy is only
available to the personality of one who is born about every 2000
years. I personally like to believe that an opportunity has been
given to .14 and others to utilize the energy to lead mankind closer
to spiritual awareness. If 6 is the number of the leader, 33 as
a higher octave, would have the potential of leading mankind in
some higher direction. This would be on a very large scale. No wonder
one would hesitate to live up to that number. To live up to the
potential of Jesus as a messiah, not to mention as the Christ would
be an awsome responsibility. Thus it probably is easier to live
the life as a 6 at the lower energy level.

being a Pisces (with four planets there as well as my sun), it's

then hurry back to the nice, safe 6.
Point of interest: one of my sisters is also a "33" -- but a few
years back she legally changed her name to an easier vibrational
number and moved to Hawaii ....

538.20 | references for "33" | REGENT::WAGNER | | Tue Nov 17 1987 14:30 | 41 |
| I started this reply at home last night but the session crashed
completely. Let see if I can pick up my train of thought.
The first reference to the Octave 33 is in a reference titled:
"NUMBERS WILL TELL", A TEMPO STAR BOOK; Distributed by Ace books
Grosset & Dunlap publishers, New York, New York 10010 Author :Gerun
Moore.
Chapter nine, page 44 attempts to show how the numbers 3,6 and
9 are significant in Jesus life. There is a reference to Matthew
1:23 in which is stated that Jesus is named Emmanuel which adds
up to the higher octave 33 but only if the ancient chaldean alphabet
is used. What I've learned is that the letters of the name comprise
the "tools" ar aspects of personality we are born with to make the
path of life (birthdate) easy or difficult to follow. Changing
our name doesn't change our path of life we chose (since the birthdate
cannot be changed), only our attitudes toward that chosen path.
In other words we cannot change the path we are on just the tools
that we have to work with on our path of life. Following through
with this, Jesus was mentally prepared to lead mankind to a higher
spiritual path. I just wonder if his actual birthdate added up to
33, indicating that this was the external influences that he set
up for himself. Most references indicate that when the path of
life and other significant numbers, such as Expression are the same,
that that individuals live will run much smoother. (Not implying
that Jesus Had it easy).
The second reference to the number 33 is in a reference titled
"MANY THINGS ON NUMEROLOGY" subtitled 'controversies & questions'
by Juno Jordan published by Devorss & Company, P.O. Box 550
Marina del Rey, California 90291 C 1981
There is a chapter titled "The '33' . This chapter explains
that the 6 is the final outcome of the 33 but the added self
expression and creativity is an additional opportunity. Whereas
the 6 represents responsibility and leadership, the octave 33
representsthe "minister" and humanitarian. know that whether a
6 or a 33 that the test of justice must be met. the 33 will be
presented with the opportunity on a much larger scale.
Now, my path of life adds up to 44. I wonder what's in store for
me?
