Well, although I consider anything East of Worcester Eastern Mass.,
you're not too far from Framingham. Most of the Folk at House of

--< One Person's Opinion >--
I've been to the Fortune Room in the House of Zodiac (most recent
trip was 6 months ago) and found 2 out of 3 readings VERY poor.
Both Tarot readings were so far off that I'm doubtful of their
"powers".
I'm still looking for someone who does Tarot Card readings...
any suggestions?
Note: HAve also been to "Elana" in Oxford (gave my friend and I
identical readings) and a woman in Leominster, off Rt 12 (also
inaccurate reading).

528.8 | HOUSE OF ZODIAC - BEST BET | WILLIE::SULLIVAN | | Tue Oct 27 1987 12:20 | 25 |
| In reference to House of Zodiac note (Steve), I have gone there
within the past month and they have not changed...
Sandy is still there - though only off and on - Charles is still
there also.
I have been going to the House of Zodiac for 7 years off and on
and 95% of the time I end up getting EXCELLENT readings. THE BEST
in my opinion is Sandy, but Charles and another man who has been
there for 7 years are very good.
Their prices are very reasonable - $10 for tarot/physic reading.
Also, I feel they do not TRY to rip you off. I now live in Marblhead
which is a long distance from Framingham and just recently have
been trying to find "tarot readers" in the area...... How does $50
for a palm reader sound?!!! I went to this person and knocked the
price down to $30 for two people and she ended up telling my friend
and I EXACTLY the same thing! Obviously I have been spoiled by
good readers at House of Zodiac.
If anyone knows of someone in the North Shore area that good please
let me know.

RE: .0 and .6
The psychic across from the Royal Manderin in Marlboro is named
Virginia. I had her do a reading on me and what she picked up was
very accurate. She does not go into much detail however.
She uses
Tarot but will tell you up front that it is a crutch. She does
most of her reading through straight psychic abilitiy and does not
usually need the cards to concentrate. It does help other people
relax and open up so she can read them however.
Virginia like astrology and will couch answers in sign teminology.
She also talks of the Chinese astrology and the coming year of
the dragon.
She did tell me things that she could not have guessed and that
were not the usual things that would be said. Most of this was
about things that had already happened to me. She gave me some
info about what is coming up but it has not had time to happen yet
(I just had the reading)
She is a physical Therapist by trade. If anyone would like to make
an appointment her number is 481-5148. Cost - $20/half hour ( She
times it with an egg timer)

528.10 | One thumbs down for Marlboro Psychic | ISTG::DOLLIVER | Todd O. Dolliver | Tue Nov 03 1987 11:34 | 44 |
| RE: .0, .6, and .7 :
I'm afraid I have to disrupt the unanimous acclaim for the psychic in
Marlboro across from the Royal Mandarin (Virginia, I guess, but I think
she goes by the name 'Madame Gina' or something like that).
My SO has been to several psychics, including a few at the House of Zodiac
where most readings have been reasonably accurate while others have missed a
bit, but the misses appeared to be 'soft' misses of the 'unclear impression'
type. When my SO went to 'Gina' for a card reading, however, she came back
with a much different impression.
At first my SO was considering whether what 'Gina' said may be accurate,
but soon the question changed from accuracy to underlying intentions.
My SO got an overwhelming feeling of negativism from 'Gina', and being a
card reader herself, I trust my SO's insights. My SO was in a bad mood at
the time, and she thinks that 'Gina' picked up only on the most negative of
influences. In fact, she thinks that 'Gina' actually "played" these
negative influences against my SO's own negative mood to try to persuade
her to spend extra bucks for some candle lighting ceremonies which 'Gina'
could perform to protect my SO from some other nameless person who had
supposedly commissioned someone else to perform a similar candle lighting
ceremony with the intention of hurting my SO. Needless to say, my SO did
not 'buy' it, but rather saw it as one of the lowest of scams, and has later
found that much of what 'Gina' said did not ring true anyway. If you decide
to see 'Gina', beware of this type of predatory behavior.
I have been to only one psychic (with my SO) by the name of Margot Schmidt
in Lexington. Margot has incredible psychic insights, and I left there
wondering 'how the hell does she know all this stuff?'. After starting with
some overview reading information about your health and current problems, you
can ask her anything, and with a few deep nasal breaths she produces amazing
accurate information on people she has never seen or heard of. It seems that
just telling her the name and the relationship of the person, she taps into
the person in their entirety and can tell of their problems, and the important
aspects of your relationship with that person. She is especially good with
this relationship information. She is a real professional.
A reading from Margot (no cards, astrology, etc. just clear psychic stuff)
costs bucks ($70 per hour I believe), and you have to make an appointment up
to six months in advance, but if you judge a psychic only by low price and
ease of access you may get even less than what you bargained for.

of information about mission in life, etc. The most interesting
bit for me was when she told me that my main lesson in this life
was to learn to balance empowerment and detachment. I didn't even
think about this until I picked up my birth chart again and the
Ascendent/Descendent axis jumped out at me--Leo/Aquarius. Assuming
that we, as souls, choose our time to be born in order to learn
certain lessons, I now wonder if Ascendent/Descendent axis has direct
bearing on those lessons (most astrologers speak more about the
Lunar Nodes as being involved with our karmic lessons).

RE: .10
The one you are referring to as Gina may not be Virginia. There
is a tarot reader who has a shop on Rt. 20. She is by most accounts
a fraud. Her favorite trick is to pull you in with a simple reading
and then tell you that there is something negative around you (
like somene has placed a spell or curse on you). Then she charges
you mega amounts of money to light candles and remove the "Negative
energy"
I don't know if this person ( who was discribed to me as a gypsy)
does private readings as well as the shop.
Virgina is in the Brookvillage East Apts. on Rt. 20
By the way, thanks for the report on the other psychic.

old and new, have seen her or know of her. All have consistently
glowing reports of her ability. I called her about a year ago but
when told I would have to wait 5 months for an appointment, deferred...
I am slightly sorry I did, because Margo has not been taking any
new private appointments for quite a while. A close friend just saw her
last week but I know that she is one of the last appointments--
My understanding is that Margo is going to be doing just group/seminar
work from now on, my guess is that she may have gotten somewhat
burned out from the intensity of the skills that she has developed.
It feels like a loss for some of us (me) individually but the right choice
for Margo, for her reasons, I'm sure.
If you call her number (she is still in Lexington, I suspect .15
is the correct one) you may be able to get referrals to other people
who are still working who have studied with Margo.

Hopefully this information is still useful for the person who
asked about life readers on the North Shore (outside Boston)
and for others who may wish to contact an astrologer with a
strong reputation.
I've gone to a woman named Donna Caramello in Salem for life
readings, using the information she provides as a kind of sanity
check on my intuition about where my life is going. She uses
cards and basic astrological information as a kind of focus, then
takes off from there.
Her information has been accurate - the first time I visited her,
in 1985, she told me that my daughter would have a child. At the time
Sarah was already the mother of two, and had made a firm decision and
commitment to have no more children. I dismissed the information,
telling Donna that the likelihood of my pregnancy (!) was much
stronger. Sure enough, Sarah became pregnant and gave birth to
Christopher nearly two years later.
This anecdote is illustrative of a feature of Donna's readings -
she talks about the future, but doesn't necessarily pinpoint
specific times - there is much that she's told me from that
1985 reading that came to pass that year, in 1986, and now this
year. She responds to questions about specific areas, and in
the generous half hour (no timers) that she spends with one,
she also uses runes at the end to provide general summary statements.
She charges $30-$35 per visit, and suggests that you bring a
tape recorder. I agree - it's really helpful to go back to the
tapes for a reminder. Donna lives at 10 Crombie Street in Salem,
and her phone number is 745-2001. (I wonder if she asked for the
number?)
An astrologer who comes very highly recommended is John Ramsey,
who provides charts and yearly summaries via mail, on tape.
By providing birth information (date, time, place) and a list of
questions, one can receive a comprehensive analysis of current
and upcoming life situations in about ten days. The cost is $50.
I am in the process of receiving information from John, and will
let interested conference members know more, once I hear from him.

528.19 | One UP for the Psychic in Framingham | JENEVR::LEE | | Wed Mar 16 1988 09:50 | 49 |
| I just went to see Lee in Framingham last night and found her to
be very good also. I should explain that I was anxious to see
a psychic because there were many things in my life that was
causing a great deal of stress, including a lot of decisions I
had to make and was having difficulty making. So armed with past
experiences from other psychics, I expected to sit at the reading
and have Lee (if she is as good as expressed) tell me what was
going to happen to me in the near future. I guess I wanted to
avoid making my own decisions. By knowing what would be in my
future, then I could base my decisions on that.
So I went ahead and made an appointment in the morning and was
able to see her in the same evening. Now I was a bit sceptical
of Lee. I thought that if the psychic was good, then I would have
to wait months to see her. So I was a bit leary of going but
decided to give her a try anyways.
When I got there, I asked her if I could use a tape recorder.
She said it was fine. She also wrote everything down on paper,
but I would recommend a tape recorder anyways. The first thing
she did was spend a few minutes to clear her head. Then she
asked me to take aimlessly about anything that had nothing to
do with me. I guess she was using my voice to "figure me out".
While she listened, she wrote down words that came to her on a
piece of paper. Those words that appeared more than once were
underlined. This went on for about five minutes. Then we stopped
and talked about what she had written down. She made it clear
that the words shouldn't be taken literally but that there may
be different meanings to the words.
In the end, she was able to get to the root of my problems
and show how I could improve my life. Without getting into too
much detail (which are too personal anyways), I found it an
emotional experience. I guess it was almost like having a session
with a psychologist except it takes Lee ten minutes to do what
a psychologist does in ten hours if not more.
As for futures, we didn't get too much into that. I wasn't
interested in the future anymore. I decided that I wanted to be
the one to "make" my future and not have someone make it for me.
In the end, I gladly parted with my $50.00.
One last note I want to make is that I have seen probably 5 or
6 psychics in my life. I ooh'ed and aah'ed over the ones that was
able to pinpoint facts and details about my life (past or present).
But looking back now, I don't think they were particularly useful
except to perhaps make things look brighter in my life or to help
me deal with uncertainty in a superficial way. I guess what it
comes down to is that people see psychics for one reason or another
and depending on what the reasons are, they will determine what
we get out of it.
Lee's phone number is 617-872-5609 in framingham.

528.28 | A little known, but great place | MOSAIC::R_BROWN | We're from Brone III... | Mon Jul 03 1989 22:07 | 50 |
|
There is a place in Salem, Mass. which is little known but which I highly
recommend. It is called "Phyllis' Place". It is a very unique place in a lot of
ways.
Phyllis' Place is a tea room and gift shop which specializes in psychic
readings. There are two principle types of readings: Tarot and Palm. The owner
usually suggests that beginners (people unaquainted with the psychic or people
who have not been read before) should get their palms read, because then they
can see immediatly what the palm reader is talking about. For others, Tarot
readings are recommended. It is good to follow their recommendations; Tarot
readings at Phyllis' Place tend to be accurate, illuminating, and generally
unforgettable. Note: the price of a Palm and Tarot reading is the same. The
quality of each is the same: very good.
The place itself is located near the House of Seven Gables, which is near
Pickering Warf. It is a chearful, bright place with tables and chairs for
customers to relax at and curious little gift items on the walls. There is an
atmosphere of friendliness there that makes anyone entering it feel welcome.
The psychics there are very friendly; you can sit and talk with them and have a
cup of tea -- even if you do not have a reading.
The psychics there do not seem to be the usual kind you find in a "tea
room". There is "Little Phyllis", who owns the place, "Big Phyllis", who is her
cousin, and Bertha, the Palm Reader. The two Phyllises are both Tarot readers;
"little" Phyllis is a budding psychic who is still discovering her abilities,
and "big" Phyllis is very sensitive -- in the ordinary as well as psychic
sense. The three of them (especially Bertha) are extremely down- to- earth; in
fact, they never heard of the term "New Age" until I mentioned it to them. They
are ordinary people with ordinary jobs, who just happen to be giving psychic
readings.
Last I heard, a reading there is $25.00. When the quality of their readings
for the price is compared to most places in Salem (indeed, in all of New
England), the price is not bad at all.
I strongly suggest going to this place and checking it out. The usual
disclaimers about my non- interest in its success apply.

528.29 | advice | CSCMA::SCHILLER | | Mon Jul 16 1990 14:09 | 18 |
| Does anyone know of a good psychic around the Concord or Worcester
area? My step-father used to know a man in New Hampshire that
could tell a person things about themselves...events that had
happened in his life and how it affected him. The really neat thing
was that he could tell them about their past lives. For example
my step-father had a hard time getting along with one of his daughters
and the guy said it was because in their previous lives his daughter
had been my step-father's teacher and was very strict with him.
I found this reallly fascinating and would like to give something
like this a try but this guy had a stroke and is no longer seeing
people (mind you he did this for free...felt he had a gift and wanted
to help people gain control of their lives by helping them understand
themselves better). Does anyone know anyone out their that sounds
like this guy? By the way, this guy had a really great theory.
He said we all are reincarnated and live many lives but we stay
within the same circle of people with every life...so your best
friend in this life may have been your mother in a previous life.

Yes, it was a good experience. He came up with things that he could not
possibly have known. He asked me, no - he told me that music was
really important to me (it is) and then proceeded to tell me about a
past life I had as a minstrel. It gave me goose bumps and that
"familiar/knowing" feeling. All together he told me about 3 past
lives.
As far as predictions, I need to listen to my tape again. I can only

that seems to be unfolding currently.
Let me know what you think after you see him.

| Ro,
I went to the Thursday evening meditation. I'm not sure I know what a
reading is, but they did channel some advice to people and answered
questions. Meditation is my main interest and Grafton is just a few
miles from my home in Westboro. They were a very warm couple and
alternated guiding the meditation. They also had many books in their
home for any psychic bibliomaniacs out there. And yes, they founded the
Healing Arts Press which published Father Angelo Rizzo's book.
