| This is very much in keeping with the other stories I've been hearing.
I've been told that the Hopi have actually had a meeting with native
Australian Aborigines who have prophesied this since their "dream
time". Native American Indians (Tribal Elders) are meeting in council
to plan medicine wheel gatherings. Rainbow Warriors around the world
from all different cultures, countries, religions and backgrounds are
preparing for this time.

THE AGE OF FLOWERS
By Steven S.H. McFadden
[Re-printed here without permission]
Though the terms New Age and Age of Aquarius are well known, if not
particulary well understood, few people have ever heard of the Age of the
Flowers. Yet, if there is truth to one of the central legends of the
land we now know as America, that age begins this summer over a critical
nine-day period that may be of profound importance to everyone now wal-
king the face of the earth.
According to students of these American legends and prophecies, the
Age of the Flowers will begin with a sharp acceleration in the energy at
work in the world, a period of intense spiritual action which may shake
the world for 25 years as the old gives way to the new. Arising from the
ancient cultures of Central America, these prophecies are recorded in
what have come to be known as the Mayan and Aztec calenders, works of
high mathematical sophistication. Because of their scientific elegance,
and the depth of information they contain, both the calenders and the
pyramids of this region are considered by some metaphysical scholars to
be the principal repository of esoteric teachings appropriate to this
hemisphere - the Yucatan as the Egypt of the Americas. Many who have
studied these Central American artifacts believe they reveal that this
present world cycle, called the Fifth Sun by the Aztecs, will end in
August of this summer just as the world of the Sixth Sun begins to
germinate. To be understood, these native prophecies require a
historical context, a context provided by a rich part of the American
heritage that is generally given scant attention in textbooks. In this
overview, that history leads naturally into a survey of the contemporary
interpretations of what some people are calling a paramount turning point
in history.
THE LORD OF THE DAWN
Over 1,000 years ago in the land now known as Mexico, the Toltec
tribe was led by a great king and prophet named Quetzalcoatl. His symbol
was a serpant covered with green feathers, representing the union of
spirit and matter. Called the Lord of the Dawn, he was thought to be a
Divine Son who was carrying out the will of the Godhead. Quetzalcoatl
was described as a white man with a beard, who wore long robes, and
taught of one supreme God. He gave the Toltecs many material things,
such as their calendar, and instructed them in all manner of arts,
sciences, and social customs.
Though the myths of this continent are indistinct in many ways, most
students of the Americas would agree that Quetzalcoatl was our most spec-
tacular culture hero, certainly the one with the most widespread influ-
ence. Teaching a religion of love, he formed two holy orders; the
Jaguar Knights and the Eagle Knights. Like the famed Knights of the
Round Table - and at about the same period in history - these Central
American Knights were dedicated to the search for spiritual strength and
to deeds of honor, mercy, and kindness. Along with all who believed in
Quetzalcoatl's teachings, they became members of the Fellowship of the
Tree of Life. There is a real tree in Oaxaca, Mexico, that symbolizes
this love and unity of people who have merged their hearts together and
work to fulfill the teaching of the Creator.
As history has amply recorded, this emphasis on the heart was later
distorted by the Aztecs in a ritual of bloody sacrifice. William Irwin
Thompson expresses that distortion vividly in his book _Blue_Jade_from_-
_the_Morning_Star_, "In the religion of Quetzalcoatl, one learned...how
to open one's heart to the light of the sun. The opening of the heart
charkra to thte light is one of the sublime religious experiences, and
this image was used, and is still used today, by the Sufis as the in-
signium of their practice. The Aztecs, however, perverted the ancient
practice, reduced it to a fundamental literalism, and began to rip open
the chests of sacraficed victims so that the priest could hold the heart
up to the sun.
Despite this perversion, the core of Quetzalcoatl's message was noble
and highly advanced - a reality that was later obscured through the zea-
lous work of missionaries. Quetzalcoatl is said to have foretold many of
the most important events to come in the thousand years which would
follow his death. In particular, he prophesized that he would return some
day in the same manner as he had left, over the Eastern ocean. But before
he returned, he said, bearded white men would come in boats with sails
like white wings. They would conquer the indians and force on them a
different religion - a beautiful religion, but one that the white men
would not live up to themselves.
When the world seemed to be dying from abuses of the science the
white conquerers would bring with them, Quetzalcoatl prophesized, the
Tree of Life would wither and die, symbolizing the end of one age and the
start of another. As understood by the Toltecs, our present world has
been preceded by four other worlds or creations, all of which were
destroyed as they became spiritually corrupt - the last one by a great
flood. Quetzalcoatl prophesized that after his passing the world would
go through thirteen 52-year cycles of decreasing light and choice,
followed by nine 52-year cycles of increasing darkness and trouble, the
period of nine hells. The last of those periods ends this summer, on
August 16, 1987, to be exact.
According to Quetzalcoatl, our fate at the end of this age is, as
ever, in our own hands. We can destroy the world through selfish
thoughts and actions, or we can come into harmony with the Divine order
and all the creations of the earth. As expressed in native cosmology,
humanity holds a central postition between the two great powers of Light
and Darkness, and is the focus of the struggle and indeed the ultimate
determinant of the winner of the primal dual between them. We possess
free will, and thus can choose one or the other.
NINE DAYS TO THE NEW AGE?
Writer and researcher Eugene Johnson of Dallas, Texas has produced a
fascinating manuscript entitled_Ancient_Mexican_Prophecy_for_the_New_Age.
In it he links the Central American prophecies to the persistent legend
of Atlantis - a continent that, according to myth, was located in the
middle of what we know today as the Atlantic Ocean. Johnson believes At-
lantis was the home port of Noah and of other boat people who survived
the great flood which is remembered in many cultures as having destroyed
the World before this one, the world of the Fourth Sun in Aztec termin-
ology. When Atlantis went under, those who were wise and good are said
to have escaped in boats and eventually to have seeded the future civil-
izations of Europe, Egypt, the Orient and the Americas. "The Mayans,"
Johnson writes, "apparently established themselves on the Yucatan Penn-
insula with an already highly developed civilization..."
Many researchers theorize that those ancient American cultures had a
prophetic sense that their new world would one day also come to an end.
Those beliefs, they say, are encoded in the architecture of the pyramids
and in the mathematical symbols on the calendars.
In his manuscript, Johnson writes that the city of Teotihuacan, a few
miles northeast of Mexcio city, served for thousands of years as the
primary seat of learning and religious ceremony for the Americas. At its
zenith around 600 AD, it was probably the largest city in the world. The
name Teotihuacan means "birthplace of the gods." According to legend, the
city and its elegant pyramids were built at the beginging of the Fifth
Sun, after the Atlantean cataclysm, to commemorate the start of that new
age, and to set forth in its design and proportions a prophecy of the
spiritual plan for the generations to come. Teotihuacan is said to be a
power center, connected by ley (energy) lines to thousands of other holy
sites around the world such as Stonehenge, Mystery Hill, Machu Picchu,
and the Egyptian Pyramids. Johnson says this city, with its mysterious
ceremonial pyramids, will be a primary focal point for the subtle
energies which will infuse the Earth this summer during the transition
from the Fifth Sun to the World of the Sixth Sun.
No one knows for sure what the new world cycle will bring, according
to Johnson. But he does indulge in some cautious speculation; "it's un-
reasonable to expect that suddenly, in 1987, the diseased conditions
which plague the world will evaporate leaving us in a blissful state of
perfection. The world must go through a 'cleansing' of some sort to open
up sufficient space for new development to begin." According to his manu-
script, the first critical period of the prophecy spans nine days,
starting at sunrise Sunday, August 16, and concluding with the New Moon
on August 24. What may occur then, he says, is similar to the biological
phenomenon of ontogeny recapitualating phylogeny, wherein the life cycle
of an organism repeats in a greatly compressed time period the evolution-
ary history of the species. In other words, as he puts it, "perhaps
these nine days of August '87 will somehow recapitualate the preceeding
468 years of history, serving as a 'gestation' phase, if you will, for
the embryonic development of the new age."
The nine days begin a 25 year cycle when the energies which are re-
leased will be, according to Johnson and others, intensified and accel-
erated. The keynote for this prophetic period is a crisis in conscious-
ness, a period of intense spiritual action. "It could mean," Johnson
writes, "that the exsisting ways of thinking, relating, and communicating
are no longer satisfactory for the new conditions ... The prophecy may
relate to a broad, perhaps global, process of completion and spiritual
transformation, and further may point to a critical time when humanity as
a whole is initiated into a higher level of maturity and consciuosness.
HARMONIC CONVERGENCE
In his recently published book entitled _The_Mayan_Factor:_Path_Be-
yond_Technology_, poet and visionary Jose Arguelles, Ph.D., sets out an
elaborate interpretation of the events prophesied in the Mayan claendar.
Arhuelles says that since the begining of what he calls the Great Mayan
Cycle, we have been passing slowly through a beam of cosmic energy 5,125
years wide. That beam of energy, he writes, is intended to accelerate
the vibratory rate of subtle energies on earth and bring them into
harmony with the galaxy. This summer, he says, we shift into the final
stage of that acceleration, a radical quickening of energy and conscious-
ness that will last 25 years until December 21, 2011 - the final date in
the prophetic Mayan Calender. At that time, according to Arguelles, our
galactic synchronization will be complete. Whatever parts of our civili-
zation have survived the transition will be in harmony with the galaxy.
We will have found a path that allows us to go beyond the limits and
perils of the machine age by blending spirit with technology.
One critical moment in this transition, Arguelles says, occurs at
sunrise on the morning of Sunday, August 16. That begins what he calls
"harmonic convergence," the time when acceleration process begins with
the release of potent cosmic energies intended to bring the earth into
harmony with the rest of the galaxy. Arguelles is organizing multi-media
arts festivals around the world to celebrate this event, and to help
create focal points for the arrival of the cosmic impulse.
According to Arguelles, from the moment of that August sunrise for
five intense years, the world will undergo transformative chaos, the cli-
max of the seemingly disaterous and dynamically corrupt materialism of
the industrial world. This global chaos, he writes, is likely to include
the collapse and regrouping of the major governments, as well as dein-
dustrialization, and demilitarization. "But," he adds, "it is precisely
at the climax of matter, A.D. 1987-1992, the fateful moment of material-
ism's full ripeness, that the highest and culminating purpose of the
entire historical cycle reveals itself."
This new revelation, or paradigm, Arguelles says, is a unified
planetary consciuosness, marked by an inspired and illumined humanity.
He believes all this will happen by 1992, when the process of trans-
formative chaos will have stabilized and the world will be freer to focus
its energies on preparing for the final harmonic convergence in 2011.
RIGHT NOW IN OUR HEARTS
Tony Shearer, a member of the Lakota Indian nation, is a noted author
lecturer and performer. Since 1965, when his grandfather Harry Flying
Horse presented him with a talismanic flute, he has travelled the world
to sound this mystery in music and story. With passion - but with com-
mercials and a lack of context - he spoke before a Boston audience this
spring. He told of his dreams and his visions of Quetzalcoatal and the
calendars of Central America. He also spoke resonantly of the Tree of
Life in Oaxaca, Mexico, a tree he knew and climbed as a boy. "The Ency-
clopedia Brittanica says that tree is 2,000 years old," Shearer says,"but
it's really over 6,000 years old."
According to Central American prophecy the Tree of Life - which is a
Sabino, an ancestor of the Redwoods - will wither and perish as the world
of the Fifth Sun comes to an end. "I've seen it," Shearer says, "it's
gigantic and it's beautiful and it's dying now. When it's dead that will
be the proof of the new world."
Tony Shearer is filled with hope for what may blossom. He exhorts
those who fear his tale to take "one step" toward the beauty which is
possible. "What lies in out future," he says, "lies right now in our
hearts."
THE AGE OF FLOWERS
Vermont resident Dhyani Ywahoo, a respected Cherokee teacher who is
the 27th generation of her family to carry forward sacred teachings and
also an acknowledged master of Tibetan Buddhism, says that many native
Americans are paying close attention to the transition described by the
calendar. "This age ending has been a time when people have gathered in-
formation about building and inventions to make life better. Now is for
people to recognize that the inventions are a creation of mind and to put
aside such inventions as cause harm, and to bring forth and further de-
velop those activities that benefit all beings and benefit the future
generations."
"We are moving around the spiral, coming again to a place of whole
civilization, of true panetary consciousness. What we see now are the
fever throes, the end of the fever's nightmares as the sickness and poi-
sons leave the system. And just how well the culture, the people go
through this time is really dependent upon the calling of the light,
because in a time of purification the light makes clear the places of
darkness."
"How much the planet will suffer, how much the people will suffer, is
really determined by consciousness of groups. It is no longer at matter
of individuals just finding the light within themselves; it's really
necessary to establish a network, to rebuild those areas of the earths'
web that have benn harmed by unclear thinking."
"Ultimately, it just takes 144,000 people out of the entire planet to
transmute it - it's the same number as in the Book of Revelations.
That's because numbers are real, number are tones, numbers are sound and
dimension. And the frequency of 144,000 cna turn and set free the anger,
the demons of people's fear and transform it so that people are no longer
harassed by the energy of war."
"In 1983 the Elders told me 'the tide has turned Dhyani. There are
enough people doing good medicine to prevent the destruction of the
Earth.' Many people are taking the right steps to look at the nature of
their own minds and to find a stability and to seek good relationships,
and to be responsible in word, thought, and action. This is making the
difference."
So as Dhyani sees it, come August we start a new calendar. "Accord-
ing to the way we are taught, and the seeds that are being planted, the
calendar is to manifest peace, an age of peace. The elders have asked -
this is a large Council of Elders, so they speak to Central and North
American people - that the morning after every full moon at about ten AM
that we gather flowers and that we go outside and we look to the sun, to
the flowers, and to the heart of the earth. In so doing we bring more
solar energy and flower wisdom to the earth, because the next age is the
Age of Flowers."
"Flowers give light and joy," Dyhani says. "They also have a subtle
consciousness. They have a unity of mind. The flower energy is peacful,
and flowers are great medicine. By meditation on flowers we can reduce
the inflammation caused by aggressive habits of mind. Flowers are our
medicine for the next age."
SWIFTDEER'S VISION
An American Indian named Harley Swiftdeer lectures frequently on the
teaching and visions of the Intertribal Medicine Societies. According to
Swiftdeer, these societies believe that in 1987 we will be blessed when
144,000 Sun Dance enlightened teachers awaken in their dream mind-bodies
and become a major force of the Light. A Sun Dance teacher is any human
being who has awakened, who honors all paths, all teachers, all ways.
"On August 17, 1987," Swiftdeer has said, "Rainbow Lights will be seen in
dreams all over the world and those Rainbow Light dreamers will help to
awaken the rest of humanity."
CEREMONIAL TIME
We live in a world awash with the pulsations of spiritual energy.
Clamors and illusions greet us at every turn, ranging from fundamental to
romantic to occult. We need not leave out TV's to know that our world is
filled with a confusion of prophets and teachings and apocaltptic decla-
mations. What are we to make of this one?
Consider the context. This mythology and prophecy, overlooked for so
long, comes to the fore in a time when issues of Central American policy
occupys a critical place in public consciousness - a time when Mexico and
all of Central America are in ecomonical and sociel unrest. The scene
appears set for something dramatic tohappen. All that is necessary, it
seems, is a catalyst.
This feverish interest in the pyramids of Central America arises
within one year of a major discovery in Egypt. Using laser technology
(light), archaeologists have discovered a network of mysterious unopened
chambers making up at least 15 percent of the Great Pyramid of Giza. Ex-
plorers have yet to gain access to thos chambers to see what secrets they
may hold, but the time may well be at hand.
So much anguish, so much uncertainty attend this late stage in the
atomic millenium. Powerful energies are already at work in the world.
Whether taking cues from the nightly news, the Bible, the Sphinx or outer
space, most people have come to feel that we live in a time of trans-
ition. But transition to what?
No one will know for sure, of course, until we get wherever we're
going. But many people on many paths have dedicated their lives to help-
ing steer planet Earth toward a higher destiny, a spiritual destiny.
Thousands will be using the prophesied shift to the Age of Flowers -
whether that shift be a real event or just a working hypothesis - to en-
gage in spiritual action consecrated to the healing of our troubled
world.
Around the nation and around the globe, perhaps 144,000 or more will
greet the World of the Sixth Sun at sunrise on August 16, and at other
inspired moments during the nine-day transition. For some that greeting
will be a gesture as simple as a flower meditation, while for others it
will be an elaborate mystical ceremony on a mountain top or at some
sacred site. All will be seeking some creative way to commemorate the
end of a long period with hard lessons. All will be reaching for a way
to draw down spiritual influences that can help humanity to begin again
at a higher turn of the veolutionary spiral. They will be dreaming for
rainbows. They will be praying for blossoms.

Interesting. When you attended Steve Mcfadden's talk at Joya's, do you
remember the reporter/astrologer who stood up and gave his preditcion on
the Persain Gulf? He said based on occurances he saw in 1985 that would
be recreated in 1987, he predicted that there would be a conflict in the
Persian Gulf on September 1. He stated what the astrological conditions
were to be, but not being an astrologist it went right by me.

Good grief! Was *everybody* at Steve's talk from DEC? I'll have
to start wearing my badge around!
It's interesting that the new age coming is the sixth, as is the
seal being broken in the reference in the Revelation. What is the
span of an age? Are we in the Atlantean age right now? That would
place the span at about 10,000 years...I'd like to try to correlate
historical events in 10,000-year blocks with the seals in the
Revelation.

Mystery Hill is in Salem, New Hampshire. For more information you
can call them (603) 893-8300. They are located on Rt. 111 in Salem.
To get there would depend on where you were coming from. If you'd
be traveling from say Rt. 2, you'd take:
495 north to 93 north
from 93 north you'd take the exit marked Salem Rt. 28
When you get to Rt. 28 there is a traffic light. Take a left at
the traffic light and follow that to Rt. 111. Once you're that
close, they have signs directing you to it.
It's in the same area as Canobie Lake Park.
The best way to get as much info as you'd like is to call them.
If I can be of further help, let me know.
Have a nice day!!!

| The following was taken from one of Bob Monroe's early "Explorer sessions".
It relates to the coming changes. One wonders what the individual who touched
energy must have felt at the time. I enter in here for your consideration.
==================
Blessed are they who seek me. In seeking me, their long period of
forgetfulness is coming to an end. They are awakening to who they truly
are - a living part of me, manifesting life and radiating love.
You have forgotten to look for me, much less gaze upon my countenance,
oh, ye of little faith. There are countless numbers who live in the
expectancy of my coming. In truth, I never left.
Let him who has ears to hear, let him hear, now.
You seek me amidst your blindness. You look upon me without recognition,
You touch my hand and know not whom you have touched.
You proclaim my name and my teachings as it suits you and the occasion.
Awaken, behold the reality of my being that is among you.
I am the earthquake, wind, and fire.
I am the still small voice piercing the thunderous tumult.
I am the peace beyond all understanding.
I am the light that guides all men to the Father.
I am the love that overcometh all things.
I am the light that illumines the minds of men. I am the the sustenance of
men's souls.
I am your life and you are my own.
I am the very breath you breathe.
We are one in the Father.
Do not despair, I will never leave thee nor forsake the, nor can you truly
forsake me, for we are one.
Let the old way be gone. It must die and its ashes be blown to the four
corners of the earth. The new is emerging but you must change your
perspective. Do not look for me in the form of a man. The time is not yet.
But look for me in the life that speaks to you in your everyday activities.
You have looked amiss.
I have no limitations and am not bound by physical dimensions.
I defy logic and am beyond your conceptual imaginings.
I live and move and have my being in all there is. You have sought me
amiss.
My countenance is seen within each face of my Father's creation.
Look upon your brother and see my face.
Bend over a still pool. Do not be deceived. The image that you see
reflected is my own.
Do you not see the truth now?
Learn of me. Take within your hand a leaf, a stone, a drop of water,
and know that nothing exists that does not contain me.
Have you not known that I am eternal life and therefor recognize
neither the past not the future? Only the now, that is. Live in the now,
with me.
I stand in the light, as you stand in the light. But you do not know of
your light. I am here to show you that your light and my light are one and
the same. Once you recognize this divine light to be a part of all that is,
will you then begin to understand your own relationship to life, to your
creator, and thereby to your own sonship eternal.
I neither slumber nor sleep and you must learn that your soul neither
slumbers nor sleeps. Once you realize this, you are aware of your spiritual
vitality and wakefulness to your higher consciousness. In so knowing you will
understand that I am truly closer than your hands and feet. In this
knowing, in this knowledge, we are one.
Live in truth. Be truth. Live in beauty. Become an artist in living.
Live in me and let me express you.
I reside in all space and no space, all time and no time.
Once you turn and become a part of my reality, all power is restored
unto you. This is the power that makes you one with all things. This is
the power that will set you free.
My children, abide in me.

418.25 | Lazaris on Harmonic Convergence | PUZZLE::GUEST_TMP | HOME, in spite of my ego! | Mon Jul 27 1987 18:16 | 47 |
| I just found out today that Lazaris will be giving a talk on
this Harmonic Convergence on Sunday night, August 16 in San Francisco
and on August 17 in Los Angeles. I did not attend the 2-day which
concluded yesterday but apparently Lazaris said that there is a
great deal of misinformation about this convergence. As I intend
to attend, I will report the outcome on Monday (assuming I am still
here at DEC.) The following is the information available on the
flyer which I received today:
An incredibly powerful evening...A once-in-a-lifetime experience...
HARMONIC CONVERGENCE WITH LAZARIS!
[The Ritual of Emergence]
Harmonic Convergence culminating on August 16th and 17th, 1987,
is a time of beginning. According to the Mayan Calendar, it is
a time of accelerated growth on every level of consciousness. It
is a time to draw together--to converge--your intention, your resolve,
and your power!
On each of these two evenings, Lazaris will discuss the fuller meaning
and significance of Harmonic Convergence and how to make use of
the energy that will be celebrated all over the world.
Many have encouraged you to gather together in high energy spaces
on these days. Lazaris invites you to come spend this time with
him as he conducts a most powerful and most high ritual of emergence.
Harmonic Convergence is a time to renew your Personal and World
Vision. Step forth and demand the future you desire! Step forth
from the darkness of your own fears and doubts into the Light of
a positive future!
You are a Spark of Consciousness--a Spark of Love and Light. Combine
your illumination with the many Sparks who will be gathering
(converging) with Lazaris in either San Francisco or Los Angeles
to participate together in a ritual that Lazaris has prepared
specifically for this time of Harmonic Convergence.
It will be an incredibly powerful evening...a once-in-a-lifetime
experience...

We will be meditating at sunrise, probably near a newly lit fire.
We will do the same thing on the 17th to welcome the new age.
I have a copy of an interview with Jose Arguelles, from _Meditation_Magazine_
written by John-Alexis Viereck. I am trying to get some excerpts together
to post here. It's an excellent article.
From it Jose suggests ritual...
Ritual Ceremony for Harmonic Convergence
The Hundreth Monkey.. simply put is the belief that when a critical mass
of humanity arrives at a common vision and resolve ... the "idea" will
leap through the imagination of a significant majority of the human race.
The core minimum requirement for phase shift is 144,000 self-selected
humans. Twelve days of purification will be culminated by two days of
ceremony.
"On sunrise August 16, following the dawnbreak new fire lighting ceremony,
principle emissaries at key planetary points lay down their bodies in
circular formation. Heads toward the fire, feet outward, on their backs
gazing skywards. These emissaries constitute the first wave of of humans
to surrender control thus allowing terrestrial hierachy to assert
harmonic command. Rendering unto the heirarcy all ego control the
emissaries chant the new world into being."
"...on the morning of August 17, everywhere on the planet Harmonic
Convergence Circles [of dancers] will be rotating counter-clockwise. The
drum beats will carry throughout the earth. ... the circles will continue
through the morning to dance to the steady drumbeat, arousing, causing
others to assemble and join the dance."

what I will find.
Even though there are no "traditionally significant" astrological
correspondences that I can find for the world at large that day,
(or maybe I lack the necessary knowledge to know what is truly
significant) I have noticed that many who have been coming for
readings lately (as well as myself) are having very significant outer
planet transits in August, transits that indicate a time of
consciousness raising and/or creative realizations.
Many of us (I feel) struggle for years to balance the mundane and
sacred impulses and activities in our lives and souls. Some of us
give up that struggle, embracing one or the other impulse wholly;
some give lip service of a kind to both while keeping our own private
counsel on the matter. I have a feeling that this is a time when
many can figure out what that balance should be for them, and how to
manifest it in the material world their own special ways.
And as Carole says, positive thinking never hurt, and just might
help. It, and life, is really what you make it.

Re.0 - Trust, Understanding and Acceptance
I'd just like to mention here that within the last 4 months, there
seems to be this incredible sense of trust among many people that
I either know personally or indirectly through one other person.
The information which is being exchanged is of the kind which one
would be afraid of telling another person for fear that the receiver
of the information may not understand them or that they will disclose
the secret to someone else, or the secret will be met with ridicule.
It seems to be a chain link of some sort encircling the globe, because
the person I first told (wrote) my secret to lives on the other side
of the world. He understood me so completely that I was overwhelmed
with his ability to so totally comprehend what I had said (or in this
case, written). From that I gained the trust and the confidence to
share information/secrets/life experiences with other select people,
and in each case this opened them up to feel that they could trust me
with a secret of theirs. In every case, healing occurred - on both
sides, though in very different ways. Also, in every case, it seemed
to be that all people involved managed to regain either parts or all
of their self-confidence which had been repressed for a very long time
and also managed to get over some or all of their prior fears based
on past bad experiences where they had trusted other people and were
betrayed.
On additional observation - in every case, it seems like all of
the people involved either have taken, or are taking an inventory of
their lives and feelings and how they are/were being treated, and from
that have made the conscious decision to not to continue to settle for
anything less than they feel they deserve, in terms of being treated
well by other people, especially those people who are close to them.
We all agree, without exception, that something is definitely
happening. It is a very powerful healing force. If the observations
above are any indication of what is to come, then it will be truly
wonderful indeed!

| RE .26
The following is from Genesis, a Universal Teacher. It suggests
some ways to enhance these days.
----------
A MESSAGE TO THE SOULS GATHERING UPON THE EARTH
ON AUGUST 16 - 17, 1987
During the full moon of August 16 - 17, the quality of
energy upon the earth will be heightened. As the sun rises on
August 16, the earth will become flooded with a beam of light,
marking the passageway into the Aquarian Age. It is of
profound significance that those in service of the Universe
greet this Light with full consciousness and an open heart.
This is the Energy that carries the intelligence and the
guidance for the PHYSICAL manifestation of the Age of Light.
As such, this Energy will ignite great changes upon your
earth. The way of Light will build in power, uniting groups of
people all over your earth.
During the past two decades, the currents of energies
coming into the earth's system of life have been directed
toward the profound activity of these two days. In order to
enter the next millennium in the fullest potential of your
consciousness, it has been necessary for many of you - indeed,
for most of you - to release the parts of yourselves and your
lives that would make the years following the August shift of
energy intensely difficult. For many of you, it seems as
though the traumas and upsets of your lives would never end,
and that the reasons for all of these changes would remain a
mystery to you.
All of you have been and continue to be guided into
positions - both internally and externally - in which you can
most be of service to your earth now. The activities of
cleansing, so long prophesized, shall move with greater
rapidness across the lands of your earth. Whatever lingered
(or lingers) in your lives that prevents your capacity to
respond to the call to support Life, whether that block be a
perception, a limiting geographic location, or a relationship,
has to be released from your paths.
Those enterprises that would continue to divide your
earth and its peoples will now begin to lose force rapidly.
The nonphysical world of guides and teachers will move even
closer to the physical world, desiring to expand the channels
of communication between levels of consciousness. More and
more people will come to know their connection to the Divine
Intelligence as this world of yours becomes reshaped to
reflect a higher order of meaning, purpose and life.
Preparations need to be taken in order that one's body,
mind and spirit be made completely receptive to this current.
Begin with the physical body. The change in the frequency of
light will have an effect on all forms of matter. As a
different current of light enters the physical form, the
entire physical form needs to be recalibrated in order to
accommodate the energy. This is not unlike shifting from a
toxic diet to a balanced, whole nutritional program. The
physical body - if it is in any way toxic - may undergo
detoxification. Likewise, those areas of the earth that are
toxic can be expected to begin a detoxification process.
Certain steps can be taken in order to cleanse the
physical body prior to the August 16th date:
1. Begin releasing yourself from food products which
contain chemicals.
2. Create a nutritional program which is primarily fruit,
vegetables, grains and dairy products. The intent is to allow
your physical system to become as vibrationally light as
possible. Remain on this light nutritional regime from dawn
August 15 through dawn, August 18.
3. Release unnecessary drugs. Release tobacco products.
Consumption of alcohol should be reduced to a very low minimum
or released completely. From August 15 through the 17th, no
alcohol or drugs should be consumed whatsoever. The human
system must not be drugged or unconscious during this Sacred
time.
4. Observe Friday evening through Monday evening as a
time in which the priorities are those of the heart. The
quality of the energy upon your earth during these days will
be exceptional. Do not dispense it carelessly, such as might
happen if you were to get caught up in a traffic jam or spend
the day shopping. This is a time of alignment, of heightened
awareness and of introspection. This is also a time of
celebration, of lightness, of being with people close to the
heart. A solemn attitude is unnecessary.
PROCEDURES FOR MEDITATION
Sunrise: Sunday, August 16, 1987
Gather with your close family/friends with whom your bond
is intimate. Greet the dawn light, the beginning of this Age
of Light, seated in a circle. Hold each other's hands and
visualize yourselves as one unit of life and energy, As the
dawn comes, consciously bring the new vibration into your
awareness: body, mind and spirit. In this way, you are
honoring your connection to each other as spirits who have
chosen paths of service together. you are forming one column
of energy, one unit of force - allowing the delicate current
of energy to collectively penetrate your life systems.
The focus of this meditation is specific: it is a time of
consciously releasing patterns operating within your life that
you do not wish to bring with you into the years to come. The
patterns in your life that limit you in any way, that prevent
you from being a loving human being, should be focused upon
and released into the energy of this dawning time on August 16.
Evening: Sunday
This is a time of celebration, of recognizing and joyfully
embracing the spiritual journeys you share with each other.
This is an evening to spend with your extended spiritual
tribes. Come together with the intentions of knowing that your
time is now upon the earth: the hour so long predicted has
come. The meditation should begin as the moon begins to rise.
During this meditation, it is important that each human being
focus on his/her commitment to service and to living in
harmony with all the kingdoms of the earth. Know that during
this time, you will be setting in motion patterns that will
guide you from that point forward into the next millennium. It
is not necessary to be specific in terms of your commitment: it
is sufficient to commit yourself to harmony, to life, to being
a loving force upon the earth.
Following the silent meditation, if sharing with each
other seems appropriate to your group, then do so.
Monday, August 17th. 1987
The energy of this day should be directed toward putting
in motion the positive patterns of support that will strengthen
your spiritual lives. The energy of this day is that of newness,
beginning, empowerment, cleansing, liberation. Use it wisely.
Before August 17, take time to appraise your spiritual
practice. Become mindful of what levels of discipline or
awareness need to be entered into in order to move forward on
your path. Commit to those practices on this day.
If you are involved in any form of healing your physical
body, focus on the fullness of health on this day. Visualize
your physical body as returning to a natural state of health
and balance. The energies on this day will be dynamically
empowered to assist the healing of the physical levels of life.
During these days of Light upon your earth, take time to
realize and appreciate those souls with whom you are
journeying, living and serving in this lifetime. These bonds
are not accidents; you are with each other because of
agreements to empower the earth, life and one another during
this period of time upon your earth.
Learn to live in harmony with each other. Learn to live in
the realization that within the Universal Consciousness, there
are no secrets. All is known. Strive to live your lives with
such openness and love that the fear of one another - and of
the precious experience of life upon your planet - finally
dissolves.

> The seasons

Just an observation... three people yesterday, independantly pointed out
three things. 1) roadside weeds that normally change color in the fall
(turn purple, she called them purple spike things?) are already changing
color. 2) someone else said that wild flowers in her yard that usually
blossom in the fall are already in blossom. 3) my wife pointed out to me
that the pumpkin in our garden is already 90% orange and said that they
don't normally change color 'til the first frost.
The first 2 I can't attest to as I can't say that I noticed. But I did
notice the pumpkin turning orange and thought that was odd. I understand
these things normally to occur as temperature and the amount of daylight
change. Coincidence? Weather? Accelerated energy??? Who knows?

Things with the weather?!
My SO and I were talking about that last night as we walked around
the yard. There are some wild flowers that are dying. There are
some trees that seem to be just hanging on. They look like poplar
and it is a definite possibility that they could be diseased.
There are a lot of pines in out yard and some ground greens (I am
sorry that I don't know the name of these little plants, but you
can find them in almost any forest or woods here in New england)
are changing color. They are ahead of their time! It shouldn't
be happening for another month -at least! These little greens begin
to change when the leaves do.
i'll have to take another walk and see what other things I find.
Whatever IS happening to the environment, it seems very strange.

| Re: .40 and some of the earlier notes:
How do you know if you are one of the "chosen"? Although what seems
to matter is that you are open to the experience and keep learning..
Lately (within the past 3-4 months) I have been writing again, and
discovering or re-discovering things that delight me--hobbies, people,
new knowledge. I have also begun using crystals, and reading about
them. For the past year I have had a compulsion; almost like a
physical push to learn sign language--I have no idea why. But I
bought a book, and plan to enroll in the fall. There must be some
reason I'm going to need it! I have also set goals (personal ones),
that I review day and night. Although I still retain some old bad
habits, I have developed new healthier habits, and feel much more
attuned to my life, God, the earth, and other people than I ever
have before. The best way to describe it is freedom from fear.
I have also been spending a lot of time and energy on changing my
career path from technical support to teaching (I teach at nights,
and decided around March of this year I wanted to do it fulltime
here)--matter of fact, I've amazed myself at my own persistance
at it! I also am aware of a greater feeling of personal freedom;
less likely to run myself down, more satisfied with myself, my looks,
my attitudes, etc.
I wonder--do all these things signal a change in me that has been
triggered by the great forces coming into play at this time?
By the way, Aug. 16 is my fiance's birthday, so the day will probably
have golf in it somewhere! However, I generally start my days with
some floor exercise and stretching, then a long walk. During the
walk I say my prayers, and just generally thank God for all I've
been given. So this seems to fit in with what others will be doing.
It's been great to hear what-all people plan to do--as others have
said, this can only be good for us, so why not be a part of it?
We can't all be meditating, etc., etc.,, but we CAN be conscious
of what is happening, and be aware that we are all a part of it.
Hopefully the Age of Flowers will be a rennaisance of sorts for
our poor old earth.
Best wishes to everyone,
Jane

I just got back from the Black Hills of South Dakota, which by the
way is one of the "power spots in the Americas". I was attending
a spritual retreat & one of the field trips was to Bear Butte.
Bear Butte has been & still is used as a worship site for several
Indian groups. Before the field trip we had a Lakota Sioux shaman
give a short talk. One of the things that he pointed out was that
the Buffalo berries were turning ripe & several other natural
phenomenon indicating winter was coming, were happening sooner than
usual.
The shaman also said that this was (in their belief system) not
a good sign as winter symbolizes spiritual darkness, but that we
still had time to pull it together.
I haven't been out in nature recently, so can't speak about what
is happening in Colorado.

showing some leaves. We really haven't had winter as such, today
is a beautiful day and I am in summer clothes. The shops are having
some incredible sales, which is always an indication that sales
are down.
People seem to be a little touchier, and are being put to tests.
Me for instance, I live in a block of four units, and we were all
given one month's notice as the owner was going to move into them
and renovate into two houses. On a limited budget, with rents
skyrocketing in our area everybody has been laughing at the money
I have and what I want.
So, I sat down and wrote out exactly what myself and my two teenage
daughters wanted in out new home, put it away and composed a simple
affirmation which I repeat as often as I can......with less than
two weeks until deadline I am still reasonably calm (on the outside)
but my daughters are not.
Not only, but bills are coming in left right and centre, my power
bill is double what it normally is, insurance arrived, removalists
need to be paid whenever, and there are no backup resources.
I hsve no doubt that the right place will turn up in time for the
right money, but ......
As far as people being really moody, or sick, or lost, these people
(or 90%) are enlightened and are still having problems, but more
so than usual. I find I am preoccupied with finding a home and
a little terse, not usually me.
Other than that little niggle the spring flowers are already out
and people are already clammering to the beaches at weekends. We
are having days of about 20-22 degrees (C) when normally August
is our coldest and windiest month.

skyline was a gorgeous shade of pink, with white puffy clouds touched
along the top with a light grey color. Incredible.
I'm normally an energetic person; when I'm tired and need to go on,
I usually recoup very quickly. Somehow, there's an inherent source
of energy that I'm able to tap into when I need to. Lately, I have even
more energy, vitality. I feel so alive! I've been constantly on the go;
and when I have nothing to do, I can't stay in my apartment; I need to
be outside in the open air. My intuitive senses are sharper. I'm being
surprised by phone calls and mail from people I haven't heard from in
awhile.
A treasured relationship of a few years ago that waned because of
lack of communication and hurt feelings has come back into my life
and is richer than before. I also seem to be working harder to enhance
other relationships in my life at this time.
Materially, I am a single, divorced woman with one paycheck and not
a very big one to boot and, at times, I wonder how I'm going to make it.
Lately, an unexpected check or two has arrived in the mail. I bought a
few shares of a copper stock and every day the stock is rising and rising.
My co-workers who are heavily into stock and stock purchases are blown
away by what's happening to the stock I bought. Yes, I could lose it
all tomorrow (the stock,) yet, I don't believe this is going to happen.
Are all these good things happening because of my positive thinking?
Is it because I have FIRE signs all over my natal chart, Sun Aries,
Moon Leo, with LEO rising, in fact, all 3 Fire signs are present in
my chart; the Grand Fire Trine coming up? Is it something else that's
happening? I don't know. What I do know is positive thinking is a
very important part of my life. It's proven itself over and over. I
do have days when I'm not so positive and those are the times when
I attract nothing.
I realistically visualize the best in life and, more often than not, it
comes to me. I realize that we don't all have this gift, and I do believe
it's a gift that's been given me because tapping into it is not very
difficult for me. There are other areas in my life that I have to struggle
to achieve any semblence of order. Yet, I feel, if something is worth
having, then it is worth any hard work that needs to be done to acquire it.

The best thing to do is to look it up in the _Old Farmer's Almanac_.
However, a word of caution: this will give sunrise in terms of
Eastern Standard Time for Boston. To find out for elsewhere, it's
necessary to make corrections. The OFA gives tables to do this,
since the actual moment of sunrise will vary according to your precise
geographical location. Since I don't know where you will be, and
since my OFA is in the house at the moment, that's as exact as I
can be.

| Hmm, read each note and feel slightly confused but optimistic--
I, too, have noticed that things outside are happening sooner,
such as the beach plums are ripe already, the pines at the cape
seem to be dying...but this to me, is NOT a GOOD sign. I find
no comfort in an early autumn/winter. I presumed that it was due
to the semi-drought we're having here in Mass. But for the positive,
I, too, have made some firm resolutions to change my current way
of life, though I won't be in the position, monitarily or emotionally,
for several more years. Perhaps this Aug. 16-17th, if I assert
myself to the sun (I am truly a sun worshipper any way)--I won't
have to wait several years?
And for yet another element--has anyone else noticed that the traffic/
drivers seem to be extra surly lately? Some days it seems that
drivers are literally aiming for one another. Or perhaps its due
to the fact that I'm on the road so much myself that I'm more
sensitive to other drivers. It's been a killer out there though
and driving has become a drain and a chore, rather than a release
and sign of freedom as I once felt.
Well, whatever it is, something is changing...

| Although I have been a reader in this conference for the past several
months, I have not yet written anything. This topic convinced me that
I had to write because so many things in my life seem to be connected
to this whole Harmonic Convergence thing.
Firstly, I live in France and August 16 will be my first anniversary of
having moved to France. Seeing the date in the title of this note is
what originally caught my attention and I am glad it did.
I recently visited the States for a couple of weeks on vacation and for
one of these weeks I was a staff member at a summer camp run by a
friend. Steve McFadden, the author of the article in note 481.5 and a
personal friend of mine, was an Instructor and the Associate Director
at the camp. He mentioned to me at the time that he had written that
article and that it had been posted in a digital notes file. It
sounded interesting at the time but I promptly forgot about it.
Since rediscovering this topic through the base note and reading all
the replies to it I have noticed some things similar to things others
have noted. I have recently gotten back in touch with a friend I had
drifted away from and we have been having lots of fun together.
Spring, which is usually very rainy, was dry this year and Summer,
which is usually very hot and dry, has been relatively cool and has had
some very unseasonable thunderstorms. A small plum tree grove on our
property has been producing tons of fruit and has been doing so for
several weeks. The US dollar is currently rising in value when within
the past year it had dropped uncomfortably low.
All of these things seem to indicate, to me at least, that something is
happening. Some people appear to be concerned about the possibility of
an early or long Winter, but it does not bother me because Winter is my
favorite season. Whatever may happen, I look forward to the 16th and
17th and am going to try to be up to see the sunrise (if I can find out
what time it is over here) and to spend some time in meditation.
I hope that all goes well for everyone.

| Most everything that has been said about this coming weekend
has been "good" in one manner or another. The beginning of a new
wonderful age, everyone being in tune with everyone else, love
joy, and happiness etc. etc. etc.
BUT, it has been mentioned, and almost intentionally skipped over
it seems, that past "ages" have ended in catastrophy. The great
flood for example. The myan calendar ending ABRUPTLY and so on.
I bring this up for two reasons. First of all, I wonder if anyone
has any other, less joyess ideas about this coming weekend, and
may be holding back, and secondly, Nostradamus has 4 or 5 prophecies
(sp?) for this month and year, which are NOT good.
One in particular mentions a fleet, floundering in the Persian Gulf
which, according to his usual astrological method of divination,
is supposed to take place on, I believe, August 27th.
If anyone is interested, I'll enter the interpeted prophecy, and
explanation given tonight.

the marking, the celebration of the positive energies, the expanded
consciousness that more and more persons on this Earth are discovering
and disseminating. The growing number of those practicing positive
deeds and influences will surely boost the energies in that direction.

| I'm worried about the 16th. I don't want to sound like a pessimist, but I
think that most of the replies in this topic have been a bit eye-glazing.
The bit of information that worries me the most is that the Hopi vision of
the end of this age was of spiderwebs stretching across the sky; that, with
the troubles in the Middle East and the astrological predictions I've heard
for late August/early September, make me very uneasy.
Growth comes through pain. While I truly believe that a powerful change is
coming to this planet, I must also believe that the change will be the
result of tremendous hardship.
*HOWEVER*
Certain people have the ability >right now< to use the raw power that will
be available over the next few weeks to certain advantage. I think that
most of you reading this reply fall into this category. We've used it
before now to create parking spaces, travel in the astral planes, and so
on.
We'll be noticing a quantum jump in our psychic abilities. We'll feel calm
in the middle of chaos and will have a real sense of determination in our
actions. It's our responsibility, those of us who know how to use power, to
subtly guide the world toward a renewed love of Earth. During this period
of change, though, we may find that we need to use the power selfishly to
protect ourselves against a world in confusion. Do this by wrapping the
power around you in a swirl from your feet up to the heavens. Later you
will learn how to let the power flow through you, but for now just surround
yourself in it.
Frankly, I have not a clue as to what we're supposed to do. I'm a little
pissed that we're being thrown into this mess with what seems to be minimal
guidance. I'm confused, frightened, and anxious. I'm just going to hold on
for dear life and trust that what I need to know will come to me (it always
does).
The "Age of Flowers," as someone has called it, is not the result of some
super-being come to save the planet. It's a turning point in a natural
cycle of life. It's neither good nor evil. It just is. We're fortunate to
be alive to witness this amazing thing...and, as lovers of our planet,
I hope that we'll all use our new knowledge for her good.
But don't expect to wake up on the 17th to lions bedding down with lambs.
(Or eagles with bears, for that matter.)

| I've been thinking...
Imagine that the last age began around 3000 BC or thereabouts,
and at that time there was a lot of powerful psychic energy, and
some beings which people called gods walked about and liked to say,
"This is Good." At some point, they left, promising to return.
If there is something to this, and this event is the mark of
their return, how impressed are they going to be with the current
state of the planet? The Amer-indian gods might be especially annoyed
with the way their land has been usurped and exploited.
So, focus that energy...and be ready to explain and apologize
(?) for several centuries of ignorance and short-sightedness on the
part of our ancestors.
---------------------------
And another question. I drove out to Mystery Hill to see how
far it was from my house (~20 minutes from what used to be Benson's
Animal Farm in Hudson NH) and noticed that it is quite fenced in
and operated like a tourist (echem) attraction, surrounded by fences
that state the hours in no uncertain terms as 9am to 6pm. Are special
arrangements being made by the people who want to be there at dawn?
I suppose we could hang out in the parking lot, but that's not quite
what I had in mind...

RE: the last few notes...
Though it may seem that some people are approaching this event with
rose-colored glasses, I don't think that's really the way
it is. I for one choose not to dwell on the possibility that things
might get rough - because if I do I'll be frozen in fear and unable

life like that. I think myself and others are just trying to stay
aligned with thih and trust.

418.76 | The Prophecies of Nostradamus | CHUCKL::SSMITH | | Mon Aug 10 1987 21:53 | 149 |
| First of all, a clarification. In my opening note about Nostradamus,
I stated that there were 4 or 5 prophecies pertaining to this
coming weekend. This was a generalazation, and reflected my own
interpatation of the quatrains to follow. This was mainly based
on the fact that the first three quatrains all refer to the end
of one age, and the beginning of another. All of the prophecies
also deal with VERY current events. My appologies for drifting
from the actual text.
The following prophecies will be written in two parts, just as they
appear in the book. First, a literal interpetation of the original
prophecie, and second, and explanation by the author. Any comments
by myself, will be enclosed in parentheses.
The following text is taken from the book "The Prophecies of
Nostradamus", translated, edited and introduced by Erika Cheetham.
A scythe joined with a pond in
sagittarius at its highest ascendant.
Plague, famine, death from military hands;
the century approaches its renewal.
When Saturn and Aquarius are in conjunction with Sagittarius in
the ascendant, towards the end of a century, we should expect a
great war, together with disease and famine. This description is
so general that it could fit our century as well as any other.
Nostradamus does refer later in Centuries to the possibility of
a third war toward the end of this century.
(The first hint of trouble at a centuries renewal).
After great misery for mankind
an even greater approaches when
the great cycle of the centuries is renewed.
It will rain blood, milk, famine, war and
disease: In the sky will be seen a fire,
dragging a trail of sparks.
The great castatrophe of war that Nostradamus predicts here is linked
with a comet appearing at the end of a century. The most likely
is Halley's comet, last seen in 1910 and due to reappear in 1986,
which is consistent with the other dates given by Nostradamus. He
is obviously not exactly clear when this war will break out and
dates between the late 70's and 1999 are given. Comets were important
to 16th century philosophers and had significance according to their
place in the zodiac. It does not seem to apply to the 1910 dating,
because Nostradamus specifies that a great war has already taken
place before the comet appears.
(Through reading the book, it seems that Nostradamus is considered
to be more or less correct if the prophecie is within a few
months to a year. Could he have been just a year off on this
one?????)
A new law will occupy a new
land around Syria, Judea and
Palestine. The great barbarian
Empire will crumble before the
century of the Sun is finished.
The first two lines speak for themselves and describe the creation
of the state of Isreal. By barbarian, Nostradamus means Arabic or
non-Christian and ;implies here that Isreal will eventually triumph
over her Arab enemies before the end of the 20th Century--The century
of the Sun.
The people of Rhodes will
demand help, abandoned by
the neglect of their heirs. The
Arab Empire will assess its
course, its cause revived again
by the West.
At a time of unrest in Greece, which could refer to the present
regime, the U.A.R. will asssess its position and be helped in some
way by America. Possibly this last line refers to the attitude taken
by the U.S.A. over the Suez or to the complicated political pressures
now being brought to bear on the Middle East.
(Bare in mind that this book was written 14 years ago. I'm sure
current events played a part in the interpetations. Hence the
reference to Suez. However the middle east is considerable
more unstable now than it was then, and we (usa) are, after
all, reflagging oil tankers and putting them under American
protection).
The Arab Prince, Mars, the Sun
Venus and Leo, the rule of the
Church will succumb to the sea.
Towards Persia very nearly a
million men will invade Egypt and
Byzantium, the true serpent.
When Mars, the Sun and Venus are in conjunction with Leo, the
following predictions are forecast about a new Arabian Empire.
It will attack Persia, Egypt, Constantinople (Byzantium) and the
navies of Christendom. According to the commentator, Lee McCann
(1942), this conjunction will take place on the 21st of August,
1987. This must therefore in some way link up with the quatrains
about the uprising in Asia. (not listed here).
By night, the rainbow will
appear near Nantes, the marine
arts will raise up rain. In the
Arabian Gulf a great fleet will
flounder: in Saxony a monster
will be born of a bear and a sow.
This quatrain may apply to the 20th century. In 1947, the scientists
discovered how to produce artificial rain. At a time when a rainbow
appears at Nantes, a fleet will meet disaster either in the Red
Sea, since there is no actual Gulf of Arabia, or in the Arabian
Sea, which lies to the south, or the Persian Gulf to the east.
(I find it interesting here that the word RAINBOW is used, and
considering all the action that is taking place in the middle
east, that a fleet will meet disaster in the Persian Gulf (my
choice).
Well, that's it folks. Take it for what it's worth. Anyone have
a pair of rose colored glasses they want to sell?????
Seriously, I much prefer to look toward this weekend in a much more
positive manner, and believe that mankind, no matter how bull headed,
will stop short of destroying itself.

| .62 Jessica; were you at Spring Hill? After we built the Medicine Wheel in
Lunenburg this weekend we were invited up to Spring Hill in Ashby to par-
ticipate in a Sweat Lodge with a Lakota Souix who left today for the Rosebud
reservation for a Sun Dance. Three days of non-stop ceremony. Steve
McFadden went with him as his moral support.
.63 Steve; It is true that the 'new age' will bring a perfect world which
will be very unlike this one. Reply .72 (Perry/Tananda) says it nicely;
there will be a quantum leap in our physic abilities. It will be the com-
bining of technology and awareness. It will not happen overnite. There is a
five year period of intense change followed by 20 years of change which
brings to an end the Mayan calendar. Beyond that, I believe, is when things
start to really get good. Until then, as with all change there will be con-
flict and the troubles that changes bring about, especially intense changes.
I've been told that the first step is to get over the fear and commit to
being a part of the change. It is a time to be sovereign. The power to
bring about the phase shift is within. It is true that there are predictions
for this year which appear frightening. I was told again of a particular
astrological aspect which involves Neptune and which will occur on September
first. I believe, as most do, that something in the Persain Gulf will occur
in that time frame, but the way it was put this weekend was; we should pray
for the best possible scenario whether that be crisis avoidance or a confilct
which will act as a catalyst that is needed to bring about the change that
will occur. Thanks for reply .76 with the interpreted prophecy, although I
haven't read it yet
.70 Sheila; Nothing newsworthy will occur on the 16th or 17th. In fact the
only reference I've seen in any national news medium, in any form was in
Doonsbury ;') But, California is expected, by some, to be in the Pacific
within the first five year period. In terms of numbers of those practicing
positive deeds and influences; it has been said 144,000 rainbow dancers will
be awakened on those days, but with regard to the 100th monkey principle -
which says that when a 'critical mass' of humanity arrives at a common
vision, the idea will reach the imagination of a significant majority - the
'critical mass' of the human population has been calculated at 11% or
550,000,000!
.72 Perry; Nice reply.I agree with the minimal guidance. It does seem that
for most of us it was only recently that we even heard anything about this.
But, I think the key is quiet reflection, not being "confused, frightened,
and anxious.". Look inside and what you need to know WILL come. I think you
believe that.
.74 Ed; 3113 BC according to some.. And at leat one said that this is good,
but predicted it would get worse. Thirteen 52-year cycles of decreasing
light and choice, followed by nine 52-year cycles of increasing darkness and
trouble, the nine hells. We are at the very end of the nine hells. In fact
we are in the last 26 years years of the last hell. Which implies the next
25 years ('87-92 and '92-2012) could get very rough. [BTW I believe '92 ends
the Aztec calendar and 2012 ends the Mayan calendar.] So, I don't think that
any 'god' that returns, whether it is Quetzalcoatl or Christ are expecting to
be impressed. Native Americans since the early 1800's have been annoyed at
the way we've usurped and exploited the land. But there are native Americans
who today look at all those who are 'aware' and talk of us as their allies,
and believe that there will be a healing and that humans will be a part of
that healing. We have nothing to explain or apologize for. There is no
past. Re; Mystery Hill - I wanted to go Wachuset Mt and found also that the
gate closes and dusk and in order to be there at sunrise we would have to
hike up in the dark with our seven year old. There will however be a
noon-time gathering at Wachuset, which we will try to make. As for sunrise,
it may be at the Wheel we built, a sacred spot for me.
Lastly; my thoughts. There will be a Harmonica Conference on the 16th and
17th ;') It will affect everyone, whether they are aware of what's happening
or not. There will be an intense change that will end the petro-chemical
economy and the balance of power will shift from two super powers to many
regional autonomies. De-militarization will occur. The earth will not be
destroyed because its not ours to destroy, and although a great deal of
damage could be done, there is the power to heal and cleanse. There will be
much earth activity, earthquakes and volcanoes. There will be a great
division of people, but not along race or nationality lines but more like a
polarization. All this will happen in a short 5 year period. By the time we
reach 1992, we will be heading into a time of stabilization. We will be well
connected with the earth as a living thing. There will be a greater em-
phasis on the importance of ritual and artistic activity. We will be commu-
nicating and possibly travelling in ways remarkably different from what we
know today. The earth will have begun to detoxify itself. By the year 2012
we will have restored oursleves to "that natural circle of perfection where
all the dimensions of being are inseparably united.". What a dreamer, eh?
We will Dance the Dream Awake!

I read it here about one month ago. Being the Lazaris "friend
that I am, however, leads me to believe that this won't be the
cataclysmic event that so many predict. Why? Because if it were
to be *that* important, Lazaris would have said something for us
PRIOR to the 16th. He will be talking about it on the night of
the 16th in San Francisco and the night of the 17th in Los Angeles.
That would make it *almost too late* to do anything about, wouldn't
you agree? I suspect that it will be something akin to the beginning
of a new year, not the devastation of an old...(something doomsayists
have been predicting for millenia--wrongly, too, I should point
out.) Perhaps it is the beginning of a new age and a great opportunity
for us to "gather together" our collective energies to synergize
and propel us along further than would otherwise have been possible.
We have a week to wait and see...I shall report on Lazaris' talk
next Monday...sorry that it will probably be "too late" for you
East Coasters.

re: .-1
My (imperfect) understanding is that the 16th is the final day of
the old age (I'm still wondering if this is the Atlantean age, or
did the Flood begin a new one... "Antedeluvial?") and that the 17th
is the first day of the new age. There is a period of nine days
prior to and nine days following the 17th which is a time of heightened
awareness.
The feeling I get is that the world's odometer is coming up to
999,999.9 and that at dawn on the 17th it will roll over to 000000.0...
you know the little bump in your stomach that you get when your
car does this; think of what it will feel like on a global scale!
I also believe that the change is a periodic function (in the math
sense) and that the sign of the derivative is about to switch. Various
sources claim varying periods of time for the function to have a
real effect on us, but the majority seems to favor between 9 and
20 years. Whatever the time frame, we've got a lot of work to do.
On a slightly related subject...don't miss the Perseids meteor shower
this week! Best viewing will be Wednesday at about midnight.

418.85 | The Astrology of August '87 & Other Musings | NATASH::BUTCHART | | Tue Aug 11 1987 14:07 | 110 |
| Just my $.02 worth on this weekend. It is astrologically flavored
;-)
The grand fire trine that everyone else has been making a great
deal of is not exact that weekend; indeed, it is not exact at any
time this summer, even though the planets are pretty close. For
transit, or event work, most astrologers recommend vanishingly small
orbs of aspect--less than 15 minutes! With Uranus in 22 degrees
Sagittarius, Jupiter in 29 degrees Aries, and the Leo planets situated
from 18 to 25 degrees, the orbs are close enough for a birth chart,
but not for event work. However, as many have told me, especially
people who have lots of their planets in fire signs, or those who
have planets in the last 8 degrees of any sign, they feel
over-energized this summer.
What _is_ happening astrologically this summer is that the minor
planet Chiron (discovered in 1977 orbiting between Saturn and Uranus;
has a 50-year orbital path) is transiting across 26-27 degrees of
Gemini this month. This is directly across from 26 degree (and
the minutes escape me at the moment) Sagittarius, which astronomers
correlate with the galactic center. Us Earthers suddenly becoming
more "in tune" with the galactic energy as a whole? Harmonic
convergence? Call it what you may. These are exciting possibilities.
It does seem that those of us who have a potent natal Chiron,
or have planets in 26-27 degrees of any sign, or have the Gemini-
Sagittarius sign polarity strong in their horoscope may be the ones
feeling the heat on this one.
The newest book on Chiron in astrology calls the planet the Rainbow
Bridge. The authoress believes that its function is to help us
"invest matter with spirit" (a quote from a book on crystals), to
help us integrate the more cosmic energies represented by Uranus,
Neptune and Pluto, into our more personal selves (Sun, Moon, Mercury,
Venus, Mars) and worldly selves (Jupiter, Saturn). The possibility
could be there for us to being really learning to integrate the
material with the spiritual sides of ourselves, to become conscious
of the two, to begin healing the terrible split many of us experience
between the two.
Three things work for this: One is the fact that Chiron is opposing
the important degree of Sagittarius; the opposition aspect implies
confrontation (as with a mirror) and awareness of another reality
than our own. Two is the fact that Chiron is in Gemini, the sign
of the conscious mind and mental functions; many of us (even my
friends who know nothing about Harmonic Convergences or DEJAVU or
any of this) are more conscious at this time of otherworldly realities
and wondering now what place such might have in their lives. Third,
a loose configuration is formed this month, even if not exact enough
for transit work by adding Chiron to the grand fire trine. The
configuration is called a Kite; it occurs when a grand trine has
an opposition running from one of the trining planets (in this case,
Uranus in Sag) to an opposing planet (Chiron in Gemini) which creates
extra sextiles (60 degree aspects) between that opposing planet
and the other members of the grand trine. The "spine" of the kite,
created by the opposing planets, gives one the energy to actually
use the trine, which as a transit itself can go unnoticed; it tends
to reflect a harmonious state of being, rather than a state of action.
The opposition itself is also a state of being, and with the extra
sextiles, a state of learning.
What all this astro-gobbeldy-goo says to me is that we have an oppor-
tunity to become aware _without_the_necessity_of_a_crisis_to_bring
it_home_ of the capability and responsibility to heal ourselves
and, by implication, by our future actions, our planet. Chiron at
the head of the Kite is this healing factor; wherever it is in our
natal charts is where we often feel in special need of healing,
and where we keep doing things over and over again until we feel
we've "got it right". With Chiron in Gemini, perhaps many of us
are trying to get our heads on straight, in order that our lives
may go forward in harmony and love, rather than the messes we feel
they may have been.
Now as to actual events, who can say? There may indeed be a war
over in the Middle East. Can we conduct ourselves, as a country,
so that such a conflict does not become a disaster? Will California
fall into the Pacific Ocean? I doubt it, because the San Andreas
fault is not either a separating fault (which would cause the drifting
apart of the land masses) or a vertical fault (which would cause
one land mass to sink, the other to rise). It's a _sliding_ fault,
and what southern California is really doing is heading north, for
Alaska. (That'll be a surprise for the bathers at Malibu :-).) Can
world peace be achieved? Let's not just only hope or think so;
perhaps we might research what each of us can _do_ in our own small
ways, within our governmental systems, the organizations we might
support, whatever our personal research could uncover that would
inch us closer to a more peaceful planet. Are the seasons suddenly
changing sooner? Not here in New England, not really. We had an
extremely wet spring, which caused massive overgrowth of all sorts
of vegetation, then a hot, dry summer (and no, humidity in the air
doesn't count, just real rain) which has caused both early maturation
for some plants, starvation and dying off for others (kind of like
getting heavy into debt and then losing your job). The trees that
I notice are actually turning are few and far between--I've counted
3 in all, and they're ones that I notice begin turning in August
every year when the summer has had unusual weather conditions; they
are for the most part, young, weak and not that well to begin with
and they always lose it early on. The lovely purple flowers have
_always_ bloomed in late July and early August--I know that, because
I fell in love with them the first year I moved here and have watched
them avidly ever since. Dry summers bring them out in force. And I
wouldn't consider a mild weather shift in the northern hemisphere to
be the herald of Fimbulwinter; after all, didn't our companion from
Down Under report that warm weather was arriving earlier down there?
Now, if he'd said that it was colder than a you-know-what, _then_ I
could believe in a global cooling trend.
In short, don't panic. Curiosity is much more fun. :-) Take
care all,
Marcia

| RE: .78
Although I don't expect California to "fall into the ocean" anytime
in the next 500,000 years (much less next week), I don't see what
your statement has to do with it.
By definition *all* land is higher than the ocean is deep (excepting
some relatively small inland patches, e.g., Death Valley). When
people talk about California "sinking" into the ocean, what they
really mean is that the land "sinkes" into the mantle and the sea
runs in over the land. This *does* happen, for example there was
a volcanic island which first appeared and then disappeared near
Iceland a few years back. I am told that the southern part of England
is (very, very slowly) sinking into the Atlantic in just this way
(while Scotland gets higher and higher).
Also with changing of climate the worldwide sea-level can change
submerging costal areas.
Finally, a channel can be formed connecting a lower-than-sea-level
inland portion to the ocean, causing sudden, catastrophic flooding.
This apparently happened a few tens of millenia ago when the
Mediteranean Sea was formed.
California won't "fall" into the ocean because the principle motion
of the faults which are causing all that tectonic activity is mostly
pushing California northward with some push into the land. Its
not moving up/down particularly right now (some local up down movement
as the ground "folds" under the preasure).

I think the California_falling_into_the-Ocean myth started because
of the San Andreas Fault. Some people think that if there's a fault
line, whatever's on one or the other side of it _necessarily_ will
rise or sink rather than just sliding laterally. Now, if anything's
to sink, it's more likely [so the reasoning goes] to be the part
on the far side of the fault from the Rocky Mountains, meaning that
California [according to this hypothesis] woukld be more likely
to slide into the Pacific than that everything east of the fault
would be likely to sink ibto the Atlantic & Gulf of Mexico.

I went up to the site today and spoke with Ernie, a tour guide at
"America's Stonehenge," about acitivity on Mystery Hill this weekend. He
seemed concerned about the tremendous number of people expected; he
estimated between 1,500 and 2,000 would try to get to the summit on the
16th. He also (jokingly, I think, though he didn't smile) spoke of
borrowing a detachment of NH National Guardsmen to protect the ruins and to
maintain security.
Mystery Hill will open at 7 a.m., rather than their normal 9:30 a.m. on the
16th. Guides will escort the crowd up to the summit, but no access to the
ruins will be available. There is a chain-link fence around the structures,
and no one will be allowed inside during the sunrise ceremonies. Folks
*will* be allowed to congregate near the monoliths facing the rising sun.
After the sun is up, the group will be escorted down the hill to the lodge.
Once the hill is cleared, guided tours will be run about every 15 minutes.
See previous notes regarding the entrance fee.
I couldn't tell if Ernie believed whether or not Mystery Hill is a power
spot, although he did say that he would be there on the 16th.

418.96 | The Prophecies of Nostradamus? | PBSVAX::COOPER | Topher Cooper | Wed Aug 12 1987 17:45 | 40 |
| RE: .76
It probably isn't necessary, but I suppose I should point out that
the interpretations of Nostradamus are highly speculative. In the
past interpretations of Nostradamus have only been successful when
they were talking about events which have already taken place or
which would occur soon and which other people, without reference
to occult sources, were predicting as well. Of course, it may be
that history has finally provided enough clues to allow the modern
interpreters to be correct.
Interpretation of Nostradamus frequently starts with associating
verses with each other -- linear sequence is not a particularly
good clue to what goes with what. Certainly, as quoted in isolation,
the quatrains presented do not point unambiguously at the
interpretations presented. For example, "in the sky will be seen
a fire, dragging a trail of sparks" sounds much more like a meteoritic
fireball than like a comet to me. Or even to a rocket reentry if
one wants to assume that the text refers to "special" events in
this century. Granting an identification with a comet, I would
look for a much more exceptional comet than Halley turned out to
be *or even was expected to be*. The only thing special about Comet
Halley is its relative short period, and the unwarrented attention
it received its last two passes.
The lines interpretted as the creation of the state of Israel would
seem to apply equally (and more plausibly if we don't insist on
its application to events of this century which we feel are
significant from our vantage point) to the fall of the Ottoman Empire.
And why is "the people of Rhodes" taken to mean the Greeks in general?
Would we take a modern quatrain referring to "the people of Staten
Island" as referring to the United States?
While the interpretation given is certainly a possible one, I don't
think it is a particular compelling one. Whether or not Nostradamus
was a true prophet, his complex allegories and evocative language
encourage people to find what they are looking for in his prophecies.
Nostradamus' code is, I think, unbroken if it exists at all.

The Persiades [sp?] meteor shower occurred last night, August 12th.
It was not very impressive because of the nearly full moon that
was out all night.
On another note, I heard a news report yesterday concerning a large
number of bottle-nosed dolphins that have been washing up on the east
coast recently. In the last month over 125 dolphins have been found.
They all seem to have died at sea, some time before they washed up as
opposed to the usual "beaching" incidents that account for the 5-10
dolphins found most years. They ALL have died from the same ailment.
At this time it is not known if they were poisoned or diseased. This
disturbs me because I have always felt a kinship with these beautiful
sea mammals. Maybe the coming changes will effect more than just the
human condition.

the other annual meteor showers are in the winter (brrrr!).
Good watching is between August 5 - 15, and peaks around the 10th,
weather and phase of the moon permitting. Spouse and I went out
last night and counted a dozen _good_ ones within the space of
half an hour, even at an early hour of night (9:15 - 9:45). We
went out before moonrise, which was around a quarter of ten--it'll
be close to an hour later tonight, so there's more early evening
viewing time. Steve K is correct about best viewing time being
the wee hours, but the moon and my irritating habit of having to
sleep (;-)) will prevent me from taking advantage of it.
There are other meteor showers that occur in other months on an
annual basis. If people are interested I'll dig up the info and
post it someplace.

On Monday morning there will be the usual news of disaster, both
natural and man-made: earthquakes, volcanoes, dolphin drownings,
airplane crashes, extremes of weather, the mining of ships, minor
wars, polical scandals, and so forth.
Some will interpret this news as indicative of a major change. Although
I am not Nostradamus, I predict that there will be no world-wide
sensational news - nothing to compare with, for instance, the bombing
of Pearl Harbor, the Black Death of the Middle Ages, or the invention
of the printing press.
On Monday morning the earth will continue to revolve around the sun in

So have a nice weekend. And maybe Monday we can start writing on

Mt. Tam is indeed a good place according to newspaper accounts.
Also Mt. Shasta, a definite power spot (which I hear is already
"booked.")
My choice would be the Golden Gate Bridge (mid-span) which if
it isn't in fog as it so often is, should be great. Sunrise is
at 6:26 PST.

| re: going anywhere.
I personally am not going to go anywhere and unless you
feel the need for human or earth companionship, I don't believe
that it is necessary to do any traveling at all. As we have discussed
throughout this conference in many earlier topics, it comes down
to choice. Unlike the ancients who lacked in imagination (for
the most part) we don't...therefore, we can simply IMAGE whatever
we want to in our minds. You can visualize Stonehenge or Macchu
Picchu and FEEL that you are there. If you need crutches, use them.
If you simply want to go because you want to go, then that's all
right, too. Just don't go because you feel that you "have to"
for fear the event won't work. It'll work due to the amount of
energy that will be focused, no matter where you are or the
precise time in which it is being done. May we all have a
"hopi sharing."

Chicago: 5:59
Dayton, Ohio: 6:30

With regards to sunrise and times. As said sunrise depends on were you
are. You should greet the sun as it comes over the horizon. There is
however a worldwide meditation which will be coordinated at a specific
time (8:00- 9:00 in east coast time). It is similar to the Peace
meditation of Dec 31st, 1986.
It has also been suggested that you greet the sun with flowers and
banners of color. The specific colors suggested were blue, bordered with
yellow and a small amount of pink.

I feel that a little bit of cycism helps keep an idealist's vision
anchored to reality.
I don't feel that .110 was being a "downer" ... but rather that .110
was simply trying to tell us to make sure we don't abrogate our
lives for a dream and idealistic vision of a paradisical future.
Personally I believe in what is going to occur on August 16'th.
But that doesn't mean that everyone will experience a verifiable
event. Some of us will swear by what ever happens while others are
going to sit there and wonder where our intellects have gone for
the vacation ;-).

418.128 | what it means | ARMORY::CLAYR | | Fri Aug 14 1987 11:13 | 42 |
| From what I've been seeing in some of the replies it appears that
people are expecting some sort of science fiction-type earth shaking
dramatic changes to suddenly take place after sunday. I myself do
not know what to expect, maybe everything will be exactly the same
as before--at least on the surface.
My feeling, however, is that the real meaning of the experience
is being missed. One of the deepest messages of the "new age" is
that the time has arrived for us to look inward, to bring change
from within each of our own hearts and to reach the hearts of others.
Realize that we as human beings have created the conditions that
exist, through our own actions. That which we see around us and
think of as bad has been created by us because of our lack of
wisdom-manifest.
By the same token, we have within us the power to correct all of
that which is bad, but this must be done by collective realization
and commitment toward the direction of our hearts. We are created
from God, and being His children we are the reflection of His every
breath. Our dreams are His dreams, His dreams are ours. We reflect
the infinite beauty, compassion and wisdom that He is. We are the
Love that He is.
As the ages pass we evolve to become more like Him. Change is con-
stantly happening around us/in us/to us. It is not smooth change,
it comes in fits and starts, so to speak. No one of us really knows
the way things will happen because at every moment we act to create
the events of the future, whether consciously or unconsciously.
We therefore need to develop spiritually a communion with each
other and with nature and with God, that we may strengthen our
collective power to bring us to the next levels of human evolution
and rise above the "forces" that could destroy us even as we speak.
So, in a mouthful I guess what I'm trying to express is that we
shouldn't be looking for fireworks and science fiction as we cross
whatever border we are going to cross sunday, but that instead we
need to collectively create from within ourselves all of that stuff
and more. The beauty that awaits us is incomparable to anything
that we know now...feel it!
let's work together to make it happen

I didn't hear it as a downer myself. What I did hear is a formal

corner of my brain. This little guy has been snickering at me on

I also must admit after reading all the notes before 110, it seemed
to me to be a breath of fresh air and I did get a chuckle out of
it since I had been reading the replys for nearly 30 min. In addition,
I feel that a non-believing opinion has just as valid a place in

of way - agreeing with both.

I truly believe this to be a sacred and very special time for humanity. I

I don't know what (if anything) is going to happen on Sunday on a physical

changes this weekend. However, there is one group spreading the

believe this at all. For one thing, the birds and animals are
not leaving, as they would before a quake.
*But*, if I notice the birds leaving sunday morning or something

Just a brief comment on how I'm approaching this weekend.
I see the 16th/17th as sort of a cosmic New Year. Arguelles' theory
about a "power beam" that Earth is passing through doesn't do much
for me, but I do firmly believe that a new age will dawn on the
morning of the 17th.
I intend to (figuratively) bury my old, emotionally-distraught,
spiritually-bankrupt self in a brief ceremony at sunset on the 16th.
During the dark hours I will meditate, fast, and, with a friend,
heal my spirit of the trauma it has suffered in this world.
On the morning of the 17th, at sunrise, I will be reborn as a new
being of light, purified with burning sage, ready to set my new
course in my new life.
Intuition tells me to get to a mountain, and I will bid farewell
to the old and greet the new on Mt. Wattatic in Ashby MA. (I'm hoping
to avoid the crowds.)

The information I have been given regarding this weekend which might
help all of you, is that the denial of who we are, who we have been,
our suppressed emotions, etc. is beginning to be lifted. This creates
a wonderful opportunity for healing on an emotional/spiritual level.
It is suggested that if emotions come up you allow yourself to feel
them completely and then release then through the breathe, blowing
out with a "P" sound, or that you send the emotion love and white
light. In this way you can integrate all aspects of yourself, and
learn to love the light and the dark within yourself, which will
help you also to release judgement about others. It is also suggested
that you take crystals with you to your sunrise meditations. There
is suppossed to be also an opportunity for physical healing.

I've "tried" Christianity, and I _love_ it. However, my friend,
I suspect, from your entry, that you believe that those who
investigate the occult are somehow acting antithetical to Jesus'
teachings. This does not happen to be the case. An analogy: Jesus
healed the sick; should a study of medicine thus be condemned?
I doubt that those of us who worship Jesus are trying to usurp His
power; that certainly is not my intent. And for those in this
Conference who are not Christian (Jews, Pagans, Moslems, Hindus...),
it is not the occult, but other aspects of their faith, that place
them on their paths.

I WAS certainly involved with it and in it. But the Bible says that
fortune telling, contacting the dead and alot of the occult type
of stuff is not, to put it mildly, pleasing to God and that it is
Satan's way of deceiving one into thinking they ( the person) is
the means of what ever they are doing. If one is a Christian one
know's Christ told His disciples that all things are possible
through Him. That means healing, confort, changing the world
around you, etc. etc.. I see this rainbow group meditation as
not being down through Christ but on the assumption that it is
through human means. That goes against Biblical teachings. This
is my opinion and perception and I don't mean to turn this into
an evangelical notes. The Holy Spirit inspired me to do it. So
it is done.

I', interested in hearing from others about your group meditations.
I spent it in Cenral Park in New York City. It kind of reminded
one of the 60's, but people were the best behaved I have ever seen
them in NY. I experienced being sort of down one minute, followed
by power surges the next. In the evening I sort of had about an
hour where flashes from former lives and from childhood occurred
one right after the other before I could analyze any of it.
My body feels a little out of sorts, like it does when my energy
isn't balanced.
My understanding of this event, is that it is to begin to usher
in a new, higher frequency energy, and that we will begin to vibrate
faster. I guess, this will take some adjustment before we realize
what is hitting us, if anything. I also understand, that if we
have been expressing one polarity, such as right brain, or rationality
vs. intuitive, male vs. female ( aspects, not our bodies), that
along with this shift in enrgy we may begin to swing towards the
other polarity. As we understand and are able to express both
polarities, we are able to integrate and become whole.
Regarding the past few notes on Jesus Christ vs. other paths; I
think it is important to acknowledge that we each have our own paths
which are the best ways for each of us to progress spiritually.
One person can never know anothers path. I personally do not believe
in a judgemental God. I believe God is within us all. If our paths
make us feel more ALIVE and more LOVING and more ACCEPTING, than
it has to be the right one for us, because God is Love.

I presume you're citing primarily Isiah (I don't hacve an OT with
me, so I have to punt on that) and perhaps Rev. 22:15, where
"sorcerers" are mentioned along with dogs, whoremongers, murderers,
idolators, and liars. Note here that the "fortune tellers" are
other than kindly looked upon because the people who follow them
are giving up free will, God's greatest gift (other than His Son);
and "sorcerers" are actually what we'd call [in the olden sense]
necromancers; those who defile the dead to do their magic. Alburtis
Magnus, who was involved with occult studies and never varied from
the white (good) path considered the occult like anything else:
capable of being used for either good or evil; he eventually became
a Christian saint, and studied occult things throughout his life.

>Satan's way of deceiving one into thinking they ( the person) is

But would He deny people trying to heal, or counsel, or comfort?
Should a doctor not study medicine because Jesus healed? No, I
suspect rather that as we have been given abilities and talents,
we are expected to use them, always being thankful for the gifts
bestowed upon us by God.
Please don't think that any abilities some of us show necessarily
means lack of reverence for the Lord.

| Re last few:
Well, John, it is really "Tetragrammaton." But I'm the last to throw
rocks at typos.
On the whole JudeoChristian perspective: it is true that there are
certain strictures (fuzzed via translation) about some paranormal
activities; however, it is also clar in the Bible that certain
paranormal activities are condoned. When Joseph was sold into slavery
in Egypt by his brothers, it was his ability to interpret dreams
and foretell the future by them that made him Pharaoh's right-hand
man. ( Seven fat years followed by seven lean years, for those withy
fuzzy memories.) This is as much futuretelling as a Tarot deck,
and obviously was an approved activity. Likewise, Moses performed
_exactly the same kind_ of magic as Pharaoh's court magicians, just
Moses' was stronger because he was doing it in the service of the
Lord. The Magi, who came to worship the infany Jesus did so because
of an astrological interpretation of events; clearly, they were
not condemned for it.
There is plenty in the Bible, for those of the JudeoChristian faiths,
that illustrates that _in the service of the Lord_, i.e., not for
self aggrandizement, many paranormal activities are quite all right.
But in order to see that, one needs not obnly to read, but to study
the Bible.

He has accepted the fact that they come in all different colors and
speak and live in different ways. (sort of like IBM computers:-)
Is not the "Old Testament" the basis for the current Jewish and
gentile teachings? Hence, the expression the "New Testament."
> If JHWH gives any prohibitions, He gives it to his people, not to the
> gentile people in general. Please keep the War God JHWH on his little

BTW, isn't there a "holy war" going on in Northern Ireland between
Catholic and Protestant people? To the best of my understanding these
two groups of people are often called gentile.

| I don't believe that the bible is anything more than a very old
and interesting book containing some truth, some fiction, some bull.
I don't believe that Jesus Christ ever intended people to use Him
the way they have... to dominate and control other people by fear.
I feel that if Jesus were alive today He would be part of what the
New Age stands for... tolerance, love, light, and the search for
enlightenment.

418.158 | What Lazaris said about this event. | PUZZLE::GUEST_TMP | HOME, in spite of my ego! | Tue Aug 18 1987 21:03 | 90 |
| re:all Yesterday Lazaris spoke to a turn-away crowd of over 1200 people
at the Cathedral Hill Hotel in San Francisco. The topic was the Harmonic
Convergence of which there has been so much interest generated lately.
The following is a reproduction of my notes. The same topic is to be
covered tonight in Los Angeles (and it will be taped...tapes to be available.)
This is a time of coming together in agreement-that our world is ready.
The future is worthy of our participation. This is a global event that happens
only once. It is a converging energy of harmony. The Beginning Begins!-it is
a nine-day cycle begun by these two days-which lead to a five-year period
that begins a 25-year cycle. It is also the beginning of a horizonless future.
IT is the beginning of the New Age and a New Spirituality. Individually, we
all begin at different times. Though there are those who have already made
the jump, there are more doing so now. The purpose: To state that "I am
worthy, my world is worthy of my creation." Someday, some lifetime, the others
will take off their masks. Behind the masks, lies hope. Many are watching
us. It is a time of leadership where the "cosmos" waits for our lead: by
our light, our laughter and our joy. It will cause a ripple not only into our
future, but also "backwards" into our past, all the way to our supposed
big bang! From our higher consciousness where we had power without respon-
sibility or accountability (Utopia) we have gone through to our unconscious
mind then to our sub-conscious mind and finally we have reached our
Conscious mind. So this is the converging of power to the resources of our
conscious mind-they are our beliefs, attitudes, thoughts, and choices
(from our sub-conscious.)
The numbers of people gathered is not as important as the magnitude
of the people gathered. The astrological Grand Trine, the Mayan calendar,
the Aztec prophesies, etc. are all a bit of a stretch [to lead to a conclusion
of this particular date, etc.,] yet it is important. There *IS* a shift
in vibration now that may NOT show up on some scientific measurement but
it is there. Atlantis sank--some believe it and some don't. That's the way
truth is. It [truth] lies across the Bridge of Belief. For those that are so
afraid, that, like cornered animals, that they must lash out and deny, it's best
to leave them their way out...to allow them their hostilities. Nothing
will ever prove the existence of Lemuria, either. Thank goodness. God/Goddess/
All-THat-IS also lies across the Bridge of Belief. Scientists will never
capture God/Goddess/All-That-Is conclusively, either. *It will slip
through our fingers if we allow it to be proved.* This Harmonic Convergence
will also always lie beyond this "bridge." It is NOT a critical mass,
but it is a morphogenic mass. So, what is this?
It is a time each individual gathers his/her powers and comes together
as a group(s) from many diverse places to harmonically align our powers to
focus on a future we create.
There are four different types of power:
1. The power of choice (to decide and build on them)
2. The power of responsibility.
3. The power of giving (loving) and knowing that "I do it good enough."
(this is OUR power, and we give it to others.)
4. The power of healing-of self, others, the planet, and the universe.
There are those who have failed, fallen, have limited scope (they
can't stretch that far or they can't reverse successes.) A fantastic
Rubik's cube is our reality-there is no solution just turning over one corner-
we need to come up with new answers. We need to bring our powers into
harmony. Align them anyway-focus, like a laser TO CONVERGE ON A FUTURE,
NOT ON A PROBLEM. Don't wait for others! Make the decision! What will
result will be a New Age, a new world, a new horizon line...a world not
yet conceived.
1. It means that our reality creation tools will work more effectively
than ever before (actively, passively, interactively, meditatively, etc.)
YOU WILL ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU WANT (not always what you ask for)-and you will
get it more concisely and sooner than before. The thoughts we have will
have more import. Others can resonate with us. Each cell in our heart
beats at its own rate; as you touch two cells together, they beat at the
same rate. This is the law of resonance.
2. Our dreams will come true faster.
3. On a practical level, our understandings of how the universe works
will change. (*We* will be vindicated in a certain way.) More and more
we will start living the light, the laughter, the joy and with ease. More
and more solutions will become available. Patternless patterns will come
about. Not by revolution, but by change.
This is a time to take back our powers from wherever we've given
them, "rightly" or "wrongly." That we will lead (from over the globe)
silently and quietly. Not by razzmatazz but by individual decision.
This one-hour talk ended and Lazaris went on to lead us on an
unusual (for us) meditation and "ceremony". Unusual in that there
were four different "countdowns" to harmonize with ourselves, others
on the planet, others on different levels and with our universe.
Also unusual was the "outloud" declarations that we made to change our-
selves and to release the "old." [I have never witnessed either of
these two happenings in my six years with Lazaris.] The doors to the
hotel room were open and people sat on the floor in the aisleways and
out the doors. No doubt casual passersby found this group imposing.
This whole ceremony followed a Sunday workshop entitled: Abundance,
The art of having it all.

God is not God. God is a word, specificaly a noun that supposedly
describes something very illogical and intangable. I think the use
of this word brings the user up very short of the mark.
Remember that we use language to convey ideas. In this language
we use words that sometimes hit the nail on the head and at other
times the nail is missed completely. I suggest that the nail is
missed completely when the noun God is used.
The use of this noun colors your reality with Juedo-Christian
overtones. If that is what you want then fine. Otherwise you might want
to consider what the use of this noun does to your inner processes.
I guess I object to the use of the noun God when some people really
mean the war god JHVH or some other god. But if that's what they want
to do I can live with it for a little while. B^)

It seems to me that your belief system really doesn't have
room for someone in a discussion to use the word God in anyway
that does not match up with your meaning for the word/concept God.
I have a feeling that this discussion has been going on for

| Reply to Howard,
What has the sad war in Ireland got to do with the tetragramation
or August 16th?
I was saying that we should exculde G_D from this topic because
It dosen't belong in it.
BTW, please do not assume that everyone has the same understanding of
G_D as you. Also please do not assume that everyone has a G_D at all.
Please do not assume that everyone _wants_or_needs_ to have a G_D. Some
of us get very concerned when others place us in the _wrong_ spiritual
family.
Although there are some 1 billion Christians there are still some 4
billion others that don't subscribe to a belief in a Judeo-Christian
G_D.
Also please do not include me in the Judeo_Christian family. I am *NOT*
a follower of the War God Jehovah or His Crowned and Victious Son. I am
*NOT* a member of that clan (cult?) and have no desire to be. I am
*NOT* a child of G_D. If anything I am a child of the Universe, nothing
more, nothing less.
Personaly I don't recommend a foray into theology. I do highly recomend
the study of Mythology and the evolution of such. The study of
mythology will shed much more light upon theology than most people can
withstand. Along with mythology I have learned much from psychology,
especially Jung and the archetypes. Perhaps the study of archetypes
should be done before the study of mythology.
Looking at the archetypes and the psychological effects of such on
believers it may be the proper religious business of the followers of
the various War G_Ds to be converting or killing one another. So the
sad, sad war in Ireland may scan nicely when one takes into
consideration the archetypes ascribed to. After all, these people want
to be like their G_D as closely as possible. The histories of the
middle east, past and present, confirms that suspision for me. Please
note that I am not refering to all religious adherents, just the ones
that like to kill others in their G_Ds name.
BACK AT THE RANCH...
Likewise our expectations of the beginning of the Age of Flowers guides
our experience of that event. If we see the upcomming age in a positive
light, relinking us to nature, we will experience that. If we expect
that there will a shaking up and out we will look for that in everday
experience.
Now as for religious wars, I think that every religious war would be
stopped dead in it's tracks if all the adherents of different
theologies/belief systems would think for themselves and question
authority. But then again some people don't want to think for
themselves. Perhaps we need to be a little skeptical, but not so
skeptical that our brains get cemented to our pancreas. B^)

G_D has asked of them. I fall in between your views and those of

have chosen to name G_D. And let's face it, if there is an energy
somewhere in the reality spectrum that is so cohesive as to have
self-perpetuating conciousness and this Force ha chosen, one of

In short Mike, I am also tired of having either far right or far
left oriented people pushing their belief structures in such a way

418.169 | Will the Flowers wilt?? | NEXUS::MORGAN | Welcome to the Age of Flowers | Sat Aug 22 1987 03:16 | 54 |
| I think we are heading back toward the topic. I was just reading
tonight about the ancient Gods and Goddesses of Greece. I was lucky
to just stumble upon a good book that describes the old ones as
archetypes.
What is really interesting to me is the dialogue between Apollo and
Dionysus. Apollo is represented as the God of light (control) and
Dionysus as the God of darkness (surrender to the animal self). Deep in
the human psyche both archetypes exist. If one is suppresed it will
go underground and errupt later at a less convienent time.
Part of the New Age movement is an erruption into general consciousness
of a relinking Dionysian process. Since most people were raised in an
Apolloian world they have lost the ability to "channel" this process
towards a positive ends. Thusly the animal darkness becomes the
darkness of horror when Dionysian actions errupt into an Apolloian
lifestyle.
August 16th whether or not it has anything to do with anything else
is a marker in history that points us toward the other archetypes
in our lives which we have ignored or suppressed.
Some key items about Dionysus and human interaction are:
(These are metaphorical of course)
You can't bind (stop) him, the bonds slide right off or he will create
the illusion that you are binding him and are actually binding
something else, perhaps your SO to the bedpost. B^)
Don't fear him. He likes to roar and stomp his feet like a bull.
Dionysus actually loves courage in the face of danger. You'll get
on his good side right away if you neither fear him or try to stop
him.
He likes to party alot. That is his main focus. In his partying he
will wipe all care from your mind temporarily.
He also relinks back to nature and natural things. Sex, free lifestyles
and freedom from daily worries are also his horn, uh, ear marks.
(Sorry, couldn't resist. B^)
Dionysus is only an archetype, one of at least 14 in ancient Greecian
mythology. But this archetype, like all other archetypes (God/desses)
live in our subconscious. If we don't deal with him he will byte us on
the tail when we are not looking. All the archetypes have a
constructive and a destructive side. Knowing how to deal with them can
be a real blast (alotta' fun) and also puts you in touch with yourself.
So August 16th is another form of an archetype. It is a reminder
that we have to relink back to our mother, our enviroment, hopefully
on a holistic level. Suppressing this relinking will cause Dionysus
to resurface at a later date. So party with the New Age now, because
tomarrow the flowers may wilt. B^)

Every article I read on the convergence quoted Arguelles as saying the
Mayan calander ends in 2012. What he termed the Harmonic Convergence
occured on the 16 and 17th. That began a 9 day transition which ended
today with the rising of the new moon. He then stated there would be a
five year period of intense, accelerated change ending in 1992 (which I
believe is the end of the Aztec calander). Then there would be a 20 year
period of less intense change, completing the phase transition and ending
the Mayan calander.
Although with the convergence we have entered the new age, one of the
reasons Arguelles believed the next 25 years would be critical, is
because he refers to this as the last 25 years of the ninth hell in the
Mayan calender.
He may still be a "trickster".

They all involve the art of making predictions in one of two forms
(a) that can't be tested, because they are to vague, or
(b) that can be explained away when nothing detectable happens

I think I would describe this whole Aug 16/17 thing as the largest

You mentioned in your reply regarding California - "California won't
"fall" into the ocean because the principle motion of the faults
which are causing all that tectonic activity is mostly pushing
California northward with some push into the land. Its not moving
up/down particularly right now (some local up down movement as the
ground "folds" under the pressure)."
After the October 17th earthquake in San Francisco, I heard some
reports of geologists being really surprised that the movement of
this quake *was* up/down rather than sliding north/south the way
they usually do. Any comments or thoughts on this?

You already quoted the relevant statement from .86, though perhaps my
careless typing didn't make that clear enough:
"(some local up down movement [may occur] as the ground "folds"
under the pressure)."
I wasn't being more knowledgable than the geologists who were surprised
by the vertical fault movement. Rather I was admitting limitations of
simple models. That the overall movement is horizontal means that
it is virtually impossible for the whole plate to move vertically
and "sink" California. Thinking about it I realized, however, that
while there seems no particular reason for it to happen (hence the
geologists surprise) it is not totally out of order for there to be
local vertical movement. San Fransisco might sink, Los Angelos might
sink, but California, or even Southern or Northern California will not.
So, nothing has changed in this regard...

| Well, here it is 1992 and we have almost completed the last five years
of acceleration and things will begin to slow down now. Looking back
now, how do you feel about what has happened? Some of the things that
come to mind for me is the fall of communism in Europe, Desert Storm,
an increase in the consciousness of taking care of our environment and
seeing people actually working to reverse some of the damage done, the
US finally becoming a part of the Earth Summit (to be held in Rio de
Janiero) this summer..... etc.
I am about 3/4 of the way through Jose Arguelles book 'Surfers of the
Zuvuya'. He wrote this after the Harmonic Convergence after his son
was killed in a car accident (which was only a month after the
convergence). He writes about becoming in-tuned to his dimensional
double - Uncle Joe Zuvyua (pronouced ZOO-vu-ya). Uncle Joe tells him
about the plans the Maya have for Earth, about the history of Earth and
the role the Maya have played in shaping that history. Its an
interesting book, if I took it literally it would be rather silly - I
have really had to read between the lines and think about what message
he is trying to get across and not get caught up in the style of how it
is written. I am reading it to my 8 & 12 year old boys at bedtime, the
8 year old always falls asleep (its a little to abstract for him), but
my 12 year old things it 'awesome'. He has begun to notice things like
synchronicity and is even more tuned in to what is happening to Earth.
Anybody else out there read this book yet or have any comments about
the last five years....?

My life has changed dramatically in the past 5 years from around the
time of the convergence.
I learnt TM the following week, I ended a dead relationship the
following month and I finally said there is more to life than work. I
stopped working long days and planned my time better. I learnt to relax
and found again the old me that had gone away for a few years.
I was back to the laid-back person who had lots of interests, took care of
her friends and made time just to sit in the sun. I started to read all
sorts of books - The Awakening Earth (?) by Peter Russell had a great
impact on me. I was back to being a biologist (my first career) in the
way I thought about the earth and humanity - the whole Gaia concept. I
became greener, I gave up eating meat and cut down on my drinking.
I looked at New Age interests and spent many a happy day at Glastonbury
and Avebury where I found peace and beauty. Oh and I finally got my act
together with the basenoter after many years of friendship and married
him :-) The five year period has concluded with the birth of our first
child: Rebecca Kate.
I just hope I have the energy to find the next 5 years as rewarding.

| Seals,
Thanks for sharing your experience - wow, that's wonderful!!!
My life too has changed dramatically since the Harmonic Convergence.
The events that have happened to me since that time I feel have led me
back to my purpose for being here and finding my spiritual partner to
walk the path with me.
Interestingly, I'm currently reading a book by Grace & Ivan Cooke
entitled The Light in Britain: A vision of the ancient spiritual
centres of Britain where they relate the 'messages' she received at
places such as Avesbury and Silbury that you mentioned. Would love to
hear more about your experiences there, if you care to share.
Thanks,
Ro

Avebury (note spelling) is just a wonderful place. It's best to visit
in winter or very early or late in the day in summer to avoid the
crowds. You can feel the peace around you.
I have not received any messages or the like during my visits - simply
the whole of the Avebury area (including Silbury Hill and the Kennet
Long Barrow) plus Glastonbury are great places to wind down and forget
daily life.
The only strange thing that has happened was when a pair of dowsing
rods came together when I crossed the stone circle at Avebury. But then
we have noticed this on ley-lines and the like before.

Thanks
Some folks have asked when we are having Rebecca christened. These are
usually the same folks who were rude enough to ask why didn't we get
married in church.
Our reply is: "She is not going to be christened, she went to Avebury
and sat in the stone circle at 2.5 weeks." :-) :-) :-)
Of course living only 20 miles from Avebury means that we can all visit
the circle as often as we want.
