There's a story about a clairvoyant who came to the police in a Massachusetts town yesterday and told them he thought he could help them find the body of a missing young man. They looked where he said, and they found the body (details hazy; I thinjk it was a septic tank). This might prove an interesting story -- stay tuned for details. Steve Kallis, Jr. P.S.: There may be a mundane reason that the self-styled psychic knew where the body was. _That_ might make a good story, too!

I saw the article in the herald today; the body was found in a septic tank where the police had already looked once! Probably worth checking a better source on this one...

Associated Press Wed 07-JAN-1987 23:46 Missing Youth Psychic Helps Locate Body Believed to be Missing Teen HOLLISTON, Mass. (AP) - A self-proclaimed clairvoyant helped officials locate the body of a teen-ager Wednesday, believed to be a 16-year-old Bellingham youth missing since Nov. 5. The body was found in a septic tank behind a shopping plaza on Washington Street, police said. The plaza is where Jacques Martel worked and where he was last seen when he went behind a building to get a piece of wood, officials said. His disappearance prompted a thorough but unsuccessful foot search of the area. On Wednesday, psychic Norman Joyal of Woonsocket, R.I., led the plaza's building inspector to the tank, and together they found the clothed body. The tank, which investigators said had been searched before, had two heavy metal covers. ``Jacques Martel's name ran across my mind, and right after that I had a vision of seeing plumbing like you have underneath your sink,'' Joyal said. Police said they have not positively identified the body or determined the cause of death, but have scheduled an autopsy for Thursday. Police said they have no suspects in the case.

Now, was that a *septic* tank, or a *sceptic* tank? :-) Topher

Yeah, the police figure he lifted the lid on the septic tank, fell in, and the lid replaced itself (or was righted by someone else). Sounds logical to me 8-O

re .5: Especially since preliminary reports said the police had previously checked the septic tank and had found nothing. Steve Kallis, Jr.

That Was The Week That Was. It was a satirical show loosely structured to resemble news commentaries, but also had skits of various types. Very topical satire that commented on the week's news events. It ran in the early 60's; I remember watching when I was 11 or 12 (or therabouts). Marcia

A good friend of mine has a father who is a policeman. He told me that a great many cases are solved by people who claim to have seen "visions" related to the case. You all seem a little suprised by this in your replys. I had no problems believing this. |
