203.0. "DEJAVU evicted from KRYSTL" by HUDSON::STANLEY (Blues for Allah) Fri Sep 12 1986 10:28

I just received this from the system manager of KRYSTL. Anyone have
a nice home for these notesfiles?

Dave -

Krystl is dying due to the amount of notesfiles contained on its tiny
disk. It's so bad that if I try to do a backup that Krystl just
conks out and crashes. Therefore I have to clear up the disk and I'm
contacting everyone not in OEM tech support that has a notesfile on
Krystl to port it to another machine. I'd appreciate it if you could
move your Grateful Dead and Dejavu notesfiles to a safe haven. I'm planning
to free up the disk in ten days and if you can't find a machine by then
let me know.

Thanks!
John

    If I had any pull with out system manglers ....

    However, whereever it goes, please to let us know before it vanishes.
    I have a hard time clairing nodes...

    Well, I've found a home for GRATEFUL, now we just have to relocate
    DEJAVU. I know we can do it. Even if you don't have a place for
    it, visualize DEJAVU in a nice new home. This isn't so bad, how
    many of you have been annoyed with KRYSTL's performance lately?
    Maybe now we can get it on a node that doesn't crash all the time.

203.3... or maybe in RAINBW::ASKENET ...CYCLPS::BAHNWell yes, I DO live on an island ...Fri Sep 12 1986 23:1016
Dave,

Regrettably, I can't help you directly ... I do not have a privileged account of
my own and our new system manager is a bit on the "nervous" side. However, I do
have a suggestion ...

If DEJAVU has a base note in TLE::EASYNET_CONFERENCES, you could add a reply
asking if anyone can offer it a new home ...

In the meantime, I'm sending my strongest affirmations that the conference will
find a new home. Since it "lives" on a crystal web wrapped around the world
(Computers still contain a lot of silicon, don't they?), such a manifestation
should come rather easily.

Keep the faith,
Terry

    Well, we now have a new home for DEJAVU. I don't have all the details
    yet, but I wanted you all to know that. We should be moving by
    Friday, but I'll let you know more as I find out.

    I'm glad to hear that DEJAVU has a new home. I just started
    participating with this group and would have hated to see it
    go.

    What a relief! I just started too and although I have not
    participated I certainly enjoy reading DEJAVU. Please keep
    it up (I have a feeling that we are all going to need each
    other someday).

    The DEJAVU conference will move to node DMATE2 and be accessed as:
    			DMATE2::DEJAVU
    as of Friday 19-SEP. The conference on KRYSTL will be write-locked
    during Friday morning.

    The moved conference will be an intact continuation of the current
    version on KRYSTL and should be available for use as of noon time
    on the 19th. An announcement will be posted here and on
    TLE::EASYNET_CONFERENCES
    when the move is complete.

    For current participants in the conference, sometime Friday or
    afterwards, change your notebook entry by typing
    			MODIFY ENTRY DEJAVU/FILE=DMATE2::DEJAVU

    For newcomers to this conference, please read the introductory note
    then press Keypad 7 (SELECT) to add the NEW address of DEJAVU to your
    notebook.

    Besides the name DMATE2:: could we get the number [Krystal=11743,
    as I recall]? Sometimes the "names" patch is down on some systems
    where it can get through with the number.

203.10DMATE2 == 51876027::GERSTLECarl GerstleThu Sep 18 1986 22:478
         DMATE2 is node 5.67 which translates to 5187, so one may
         also find DEJAVU at 5187::DEJAVU sometime in the AM on
         19-SEP.

         See you on the 'other' side!

Actually, I found DEJAVU here on DMATE2 in the AM on 18-SEP ... of
course, I've been into meditative time travel lately. ;^)

	A test version of DEJAVU got put onto DMATE2 to check that the transfer
	would go as planned. You cheated by looking!
