| The way telekinesis is done is to visualize the object as moving
in the desired way. This can be done easier in a light alpha state.
This works fine for small objects, or very subtle movements. I
guess you need to put more power into it to move a bigger object,
but I can think of much better things to put my energy into. Still,
it's an interesting topic.
As with most psychic means of doing things, it is far easier to
do it using mundane means, if possible.

200.2 | Do You want Mechanism or Technique? | INK::KALLIS | | Tue Sep 09 1986 09:28 | 10 |
| Telekinesis may well work on the subatomic level. The operant
hypothesis is that one's thought energy may be able to make small
imbalances that can upset much more powerful balances within the
matter itself causing motion.
I once saw one suggestion using physics, but my memory's a bit hazy;
if I can remember where I saw it, I'll look it up.

| I was mainly interested in the technique, but would like to see
any other info you might be able to remember Steve. Thanks.

re 1.
Over the weekend I saw the Empire Strikes Back...again. This was
the Star Wars 2nd episode where Luke meets Yoda, who trains the
Jedi Masters....you all know the story. I was struck once again
when Yoda told Luke that the energy of the Force comes from within
and from all life around us...the force is energy to flow thur the
Jedi; to be used and directed... A wonderful concept/picture.
For me, the best line in all the Star Wars movies was Yoda's comment
to Luke after he lifted Lukes spaceship out of the swamp...
Luke " I don't believe it!" Yoda, " That is the problem"....
How many of us can even really relax, let alone feel the energy
within us.....and I wonder what ' miracles' we could create if we
understood this force within...

| I dug up something that James Blish has been toying with in his
stories: a Blackett transformtion.
It's on the basis of G-(2CP/BU)^2
where
P= magnetioc moment;
G=universal gravitational constant
C=speed of light
B=an uncertainty correction (approx 0.25)
U=angular momentum.
Implied, but not stated is that it's in the cgs unit scheme. This
is something that's supposed to take place at the subatomic level.
We treat the electrons as tiny magnets; the magnetic field produced
is a function of rotation, and gravity is a function of it. The
argument goes that if there's a mechanism at the subatomic level
that can affect either the moment or angular momentom of the orbiting
electrons, it could manifest itself in an altered gravitational
condition.
So far, nobody's been able to demonstrate how -- or if -- this can be done.
But conceivably some mechanism such as this, where a small "movement,"
possibly even where one can set up a condition and let the results
build using the energy in the material to complete the process,
might be the key to nailing the process down.

| The equation should read:
G=(2CP/BU)^2
