| The responses were: 21 with some type of symptom, 3 without and
3 attributed to physical surroundings (noise etc..).
These numbers include friends and/or spouses in some cases.
One person has been experiencing this since last Friday, two for over
2 weeks. I'll update this reply as more data comes in. Thanks to
those who've responded so far.
I should note that the most common thread going through the replies so
far is that of awakening and experiencing a feeling of restlessness for
no apparent reason. The source of the restlessness is open to
speculation. It has been likened to an increase in the amount of
energy surrounding us, an increase in the vibrational level we normally
experience.
Other symptoms mentioned so far have been:
depression or severe depression (3)
tense for no apparent reason (2)
physically feel bad (2)
physically weak (2)
more colorful dreams (1)
suicidal feelings (1)

| As I noted off-line, the time period involved was when Mars was
at its poopsition, approximately, and closer than it's been for
yyears, coupled with the moon being fairly close. If there's anything
to the hypothesis of tidal influences on behavior, that might be
a good explanation to the unusual feelings.

| The Moon was also involved. Not all lunations are created equal.
Lunation cycles can be moderate or extreme in their effects on
a person, depending on the specific setup of a person's chart.
(I am of course speaking astrologically, which is my wont.) If
a person has stressful Moon-Mars aspects in his/her birth chart
(as I indeed do) (s)he may feel the effects very strongly when those
bodies are dancing together in some way in the sky that sets off
their natal aspects to one another.
This lunation cycle had these features: Mars was "retrograde" in
the sign Capricorn and was opposing the new moon (which is really
a Moon-Sun conjunction) on July 7th. Both the Sun and Mars have
a lot to do with a person's physical vitality; the Sun represents
his/her coherent personality expression, and the Moon represents
the emotional and habitual underpinnings of that expression. During
a new moon, one can feel more unified than usual, as if both the
outward and inward self were in tune and working together. The
other high energy point of the lunation cycle, the full moon, generates
the feeling in many cases of being split; somehow the outward and
inward self can feel conflicted, opposing, not really in step with
each other. So the full moon's reputation as a time when outbursts
of emotion run higher than usual, or emotional fluctuations seem
more troublesome and apparent (the opposition is an aspect that
produces awareness) is astrologically sound.
Now add Mars: the assertive, active urge in a person. At a time
when both outward and inward sides of the self feel in tune in a
_very_ feelingful sign (Cancer) the planet that drives one to act
is across the sky from the sense of self. That action urge is in
the sign Capricorn, a sign that wants concrete action manifested
in the real world. Just when would want to be "out and doing" one
finds one's self not supporting the desire to act. In fact, the
sense of self is withdrawn into a very interior type of experience
represented by Cancer. So actions may feel out of step with the
self, health may suffer somewhat, the feeling that one is out step
can make one feel divided between the demands of the world (Capricorn)
and one's needs (Cancer). Depression, anger, fluctuating energy
levels, alternating listlessness and hyperactivity can manifest
in what seems like an unpredictable manner.
I have a natal Moon-Mars square in my chart. My health did indeed
suffer somewhat; I picked up a sinus infection (Mars is said to
rule the head; interesting) that I haven't shaken yet. I've slept
badly, remembered extremely vivid dreams, had my energy levels
fluctuate all out of proportion to whether I ate or rested. But
I've also had some good insights into my inner self during this
period and learned again some lessons in patience (a retrograd Mars
in Capricorn seems to be great for teaching patience).
I think people with natal Moon-Mars troubles will have noticed this
lunation the most; this can be especially true if it's backed up
by other significant transits from outer planets at this time.
Nice to see you all here and surviving, though. Next month's _bound_
to be better; the new moon in on August 5th in Leo. Time to rise
and shine.
