| A little more info...I think her name is Harriet but she will
not see any men..she is an old world type person and does not want
to have any men in her house in respect of her husband. Though
she will do a reading from a photograph of a man. So far all she
says has been happening. In fact my neice went to see her and she
said that a super healthy person we know will have heart problems
soon. he doesn't know of the prediction but we are all watching
him. In fact my wife has been telling him to take it easy.

114.6 | "Harriet" | HITECH::GREENHALGE | Beckie Greenhalge | Tue May 06 1986 16:58 | 11 |
| I went to this person you are referring to about four years ago.
In the short time I was there, she managed to describe several
men from my lifetime (past, present & future) - some by name, some
by description & some by both.
She is fairly accurate in her readings. About 90% of what she
said was true/came true for me. My sister-in-law also had her tea
leaves read by this woman about the same amount of accuracy.

number (or both).
How did it turn out for the author of #114? Was the prediction
accurate?

114.8 | So far not so good! | STOWMA::ARDINI | From the third plane. | Thu Jun 05 1986 12:03 | 10 |
| I can give you "Harriet's" phone number. It's 454-1096 in Lowell.
I'm sorry to say that she has not been right about her prediction
of my wife delivering before June. She's still waiting. She did
say that the baby would be a girl even though the doctors would
say it's going to be a boy. Well she has had two ultra sounds in
the last two weeks and both times they said it was a boy and claim
a 95% accuracy. So there is the doctors claim it will be a boy.
I'll let you know if it's a girl.

114.9 | Hit or Miss...Miss! | STOWMA::ARDINI | | Tue Jun 30 1987 13:11 | 10 |
| I know this is late but better late .... Anyway, Harriet was
right about the large house but that was it. We had a boy,
Maximillian, and he was about two weeks late. We didn't move into
our house until a month later. The healthy guy who was going to
have a heart attack is still healthy and unafflicted.
So I guess as far as this woman's accuracy in prediction
goes, it looks bleak. Oh well.

114.10 | Recommendations Please? | SMEGIT::BALLAM | | Wed Jul 27 1988 17:29 | 18 |
| I'd like to know if anyone has any information/feedback
on two people in Nashua I'm considering seeing (with mind
and heart full of "BIG" questions about my purpose in this
life, I was told by one person that I had a blue aura).
One is Virginia Theriault, recommended to me by a friend at
work. She reads regular playing cards using more than one
deck, and reads palms. It taks 2-3 months to get to see her,
and I'm scheduled to see her in 3 weeks.
The other person is Richard Greene. I read about him in 3.58.
I called him and I like him. I'm tempted to cancel Virginia
and schedule an appointment to see him.
Any help would be appreciated.
Karen (I think I 'know' who I am, but I forgot)

Hi Karen,
Well from experience the only advice I can give is I don't
think you want to cancel your appointment with Mrs. Theriault.
I just went to her about 2 months ago and I thought she was very
good. A lady that I work with also went recently and she has been
to quite a few of them to say the least even alot in England and
she liked her very much. Now my husband has made an appointment.
Her having to book all the way out for 3 months should give you
an idea of how in demand she is without any advertising. She does
the playing cards and also does a bit of palmistry and photos plus
just her own insights.
As far as Mr. Greene. I have not gone to see him. However
I have heard some things about him that I don't particularly care
for and will probably not go see him. But that's up to you. It
would be nice if you did go to him and let us know what you thought.
But if it were me I wouldn't cancel the woman to see him. You'll
be waiting another 3 months to see her again.... :^)

114.12 | One less point for Virginia | COGMK::LEE | | Thu Jul 28 1988 17:18 | 23 |
| I wasn't going to reply to this note, but since someone is
recommending Virginia, I decided I better say a few things.
I saw Virginai several times. I've stopped seeing her because
I found her predictions incorrect and that she tended to tell
me a lot of things that I wanted to hear rather than what really
is. To give you an example, I saw her when I broke up with one
of my ex-boyfriends, and she told me that he would call me up
and we would get back together and that he's the one for me and
I'm going to marry him, etc... Well, he never called, we never
got together again, and I'm marrying someone else now.
In my personal opinion, I have yet to meet a psychic who could
accurately predict the future, and I've seen a fair number of them.
I've learned that they are very good to telling me about myself as
a person and what I can do to improve my life.
Maybe it's a hit or miss sort of thing. If you're lucky, she'll
get a few things right. I usually take what psychics say with a
few grains of salt. Never live by what they say. (If I had waited
around for my ex-boyfriend to change his mind, I'd be waiting
forever!) By the way, I had three different psychics tell me that
I was going to marry him!

TO RE. 10.
Well unfortunately the only way that YOU will find out
who you will like is by seeing for yourself. I can only recommend
Virginia by mine and 5 other people that I know. Plus obviously
because of the long wait there are many other people seeing her
that I have no idea about as far as how they rate her. So whomever
you do see please let us know as I am curious about Mr. Greene.
Everyone is different and has different opinions about what they
are looking for and how they feel. So anyway let us know what you
decide.
Good Luck :^)

I visited Virginia about 16 months ago. At the time she made a
series of predictions:
- I would shortly get married. This seemed absurd, I wasn't even
thinking about courting. I met my future (present) wife 3 days
later, we were engaged before the week was out and married within
4 months.
- I would move from an apartment to a house: she didn't know my
address, didn't know I was living in an apartment and she was
right.
- My future wife would be dark: she is Thai.
- I would change job responsibilities: I got a major new project
responsibility shortly after the visit.
- I would have children (not yet)
- She commented that I appeared to have psychic talent (I do -
though not formally trained).
So on balance I got an accurate reading that couldn't be based on
careful questioning.
However I have found that many people work better with men than
women or vice versa. I personally find it almost impossible to
read for a man but can read for a woman. I have heard several
people remark that Virginia is much more accurate when reading
for women.

114.15 | Thank you | SMEGIT::BALLAM | | Fri Aug 05 1988 17:41 | 23 |
| Thank you everyone for your responses. Now the rest is up to
me. I never called Greene back, I'm adopting the 'when in
doubt, don't' philosophy lately. Maybe that's just an extreme
reaction to my usual tendency to 'when in doubt, go ahead anyway.'
For some reason I can't explain, it's a big deal whether I go
or not. The more I think about it, the more I want to wait for
the opportunity to see a Native American Shaman. Some day.
Until then I'll stick to looking within myself, with the help
of books and any other guides I add onto my life.
Some doubts about Virginia and other psychics who do readings
for money...
I guess I want to know *why* they do readings for people -- what
kind of help they think they're giving. I suppose those are
the kind of questions I could just call up and ask before
I actually go see them.
Well, I have a few days to decide yet.
Thank you all again.

I regularly go to a psychic every summer. I have discussed the
% rate of future predictions with him. His response and from in-
formation I have read, 80% of what is predicted can be changed and
20% will squeeze thru as you're occupied with other things in your
life and really don't pay much attention to part of the reading.
A psychic, from what I am told, sees one future, but there can be
many futures and a person's will decides the outcome. What I'm
trying to say is we have free will and are able to change our future.
When I was a novice at going, my reading were accurate. I just
let things happen. Now, things I don't like, I discuss with him
ways to change it and I do get recommendations. One would wonder
from seeing the notes from one of the readings, why I would care
to go back as so much seems to be off.

| re: .16
Joanne, what wonderful observation! Now that you are
recognizing that you are creating your own reality, the
question of why go to a psychic does indeed become a meaningful
one. A good psychic can tell you, exactly as you have pointed
out, which path is most probable at that particular point.
You, as you further noticed, can accept it or reject it.
Because it doesn't come true, doesn't mean the information was
invalid. So, what good is it? Well, it serves or can serve
as a reflection of what you are doing and what your reality is
all about. In other words, it can show you patterns that you
are following. If you like them, continue in that manner. If
you don't, then you find the means to change (the ends.) Sometimes,
you see, it is difficult to know where one "stands". It isn't
always easy to have insight about oneself, so we find "outside"
guides or markers to show us what we are creating within. Thus
a good psychic can determine "where you are" and can "see" where
you are going. But like any driver, you can either shut your eyes
and go wherever your vehicle is going, or you can open your eyes
and pick the road you wish to go along.
So, as one becomes more consciously aware of the reality they
are creating, psychics become more and more superfluous, I believe.
In a sense, you can supercede the psychic because you *know* what
path you are taking...because you are choosing it. Moreover, you
can develop your own psychic or intuitive abilities to ascertain
your own evaluations without the *need* for a mirror. Perhaps
that is your next step. In the meantime, a psychic can be very
useful in helping you understand yourself.
