104.0. "Visual phenomena" by HUDSON::STANLEY (ASTRAl projectionist) Mon Apr 07 1986 16:44

I don't think that this is paranormal, but has to do with perception.
I've noticed that when looking at a red light in a dark room, such
as a digital clock with red LEDs, I see deep violet lines extending
in various directions. Some of them curve back to the red light,
forming a loop. If I move my eyes, these violet lines shift position.
I've been aware of this for years but never asked anyone before.
Has anyone else seen this before? If so, does anyone know what
    the effect is?

There could be several nonpasranormal answewrs to this.

One very important one, however. Sit in a dark room with a single
point-source white light. Look at it first with one eye, then the
other. Then both. If you see a raimbow haol around them, have
your eyes checked _right away_. It might be the early-warning sign
of glaucoma (which can be treated).

It doesn't seem as if anyone else has noticed the visual phenomena
that I mentioned in .0 I have pointed it out to friends of mine
and they have been able to see it. If you have a digital clock
with red LEDs, or something that has a red LED on it, take a look
at it in a very dark room. I've found that the darker the room
is the more pronounced the effect is. I'm interested to see what
other people in this conference see.
