| Hi Mike
If you review some of the past notes and some in the "life"
notes you will find much about Seth and Jane Roberts. I not only have read
a lot of Seth material but also know a friend of Jane's. Jane died a while
ago but lives on in her own way. I found it all very interesting but I haven't
crossed that threshold of belief in Seth which takes the intended impact out of
the material. I have also read all of the "Awareness Techniques" I could get
hold of by William Swygard. This fuels all the stuff Seth says but in "how-
to" sense. The pieces of history Seth claims to are very close to the Swygard
stuff. Talking about Atlantis, the Fifth planet, planes of existence, and
reincarnation are all similar in these materials.
If you read into some of these past notes I'm sure you'll find some
stimulating material.

You might also wish to check note 8, "Ouija Boards," on some further com-
ments on the so-called Seth phenomenon. It's in the replies.

Thanx for the input. I got started with "Handbook to Higher Consiousness" by
Ken Keyes. For "Some Reason" I picked up "The Seth Material" and was really
taken in by the whole situtation. It was very hard to aggree with many of the
things Seth says. I feel that it is not important how a person gets to an
enlightened stated. What is important is that the person be honest with
themselves and their life situtation (ie. is this serving me well? is this
going to hurt someone else?) I'm not really sure what Seth is. I do know
that what Jane came up with really turned cogs in my mind.
I have just gotten the first two tapes of Bob Monroes Gateways Expirence. I am
able to use the techniques in the first tape with no trouble. Having read both
Bob's books I have come to the understanding that the whole purpose for the
Institute is not just for generating OOBEs but for inner journeying. I also got
the tapes to help generate OOBEs so I am in the same place as you. Since I
have a strong shamanistic bent I really like this approach to "self
improvement". Their attitudes seem to be live and let live as far as how people
view life. My idea is that any path to greater consiousness that has heart will
do fine for most people. Heard that before?
So you have had OOBE's before? I have had about 10 that are recorded (on paper)
but I seem to have reached a plateau or maybe have lost interest for some
reason. For many years I went through a lot of fear because I was a christian
and mystic/physic experiences were off limits to me...(yet I was having them
none the less). After opening up my perspective or view about life and throwing
off religion I have been able to pursue my mystic pathway without fear. What a
wonderful thing to be able to explore my innerselves with no obstruction except
from whatever my belief system throws in. It may be that I need an inner
obstacle course to grow. Anyway the adventure continues.

| RE:3,4,5
I liked your comments, Mike, about getting away from the
restrictions of your old religion. I have never been anchored down
by this but I have many friends and relatives who can not conceive
of over-stepping this boundary. I was raised as a very strict catholic
but I never took it seriously. My folks sure did thou. I could never
accept the fire and brimstone approach to life. I think we all have to
be courageous about discovering the truth of our existence. And if this
means taking some risks then so be it. Of course I'm not inferring you
should be reckless.
In some past notes involving some evil or dark (psychically)
person I saw the involvement of a priest in excorcism. I thought that
was great. I have been lured away from the traditional followings of
the church but I always believed there was some goodness in it. Seeing
the church involved in this way tells me they do not say it doesn't
exist but instead accept it's reality and deal with it.
As far ass OBEs go I have yet to get there but do want to. I
just haven't been able to take that big step out of my physical body.
Sometimes I think I'm always out of it in my fantasies but I have yet
to achieve all the sensations and feeling that I'm looking back at my-
self. If any of you do achieve this state please let me know how you
did it, what it was like, and if you could control it.

| As for feeling out of control... It is my understanding now that when we are in
the OOBE state we are just like little children with a shiney new toy. We want
to do as much with it as possible in the shortest amount of time. This leads
to problems for me personaly because I can't focus well on a particular place
or person. I think because of this I have now buried the OOBE's that I have in
dreams because I have definite purposes there. Anyway at this point OOBE's have
stopped and dreams have taken on a new importance.
Fear... tell me about being scared to death... I thought I was being possesed or
being attacked or maybe worse. Over the years I have come to terms with my
fears about this thing. The great thing is that I am still here and still sane
in a not so sane world. What could be a better reccomendation for exploring the
OOBE state.
I definitely will not forget my OOBE's. Since I have written them and the
dreams that include OOBE's down, I can go back over them months later. Many
times I see new importance in minor events.
Here is another twist that I think will interest all of you. I have had two
"major" dreams where I walked into another persons existance. One was of/with
a mental patient in an institution, female, apparently on earth, who was helped
by a nurse and had relatives visit her. I even shared a partial memory of hers
concerining a man who said he loved her no matter what "condition" she was in.
The humorious part is that I didn't get a chance to go into the womens shower..
I guess since the walkinee was female she wasn't concerned about female bodies
the way I am. The other was of a female sensitive who was employed, let me talk
to other people ,who were at first stunned then accepting of the situtation,
then asked me if I was there guide from God. I told them "God no!"
No I am not familiar with the Institute of Noetice Sciences.
Yes I have other OOBE's and dreams that I will discuss with other people.
The tapes from Monroe are taking effect. I have had tremendious headaches
(probably from too loud tapes). Also noticed is a new kind of energy after
participating in the tapes that I have as yet (pretty new anyway) been unable to
harness.
Personal Reality really helped me too. Thanx for all the input,
The adventure continues,

| Re .7:
Entering another person's "reality" can mean something quite different than
you think. Either you can enter a common region (e.g., the collective
unconscious [erroneously called "superconsciousnerss" by some philosophies,
mostly Eastern]
)where you react with someone else's projection there, or you make a
telepathic projection into someone else's mind (particularly the most vul-
nerable, such as a person with weak defenses). Neither requires a true
out-of-body experience.
Please note that some people might _be_ in mental hospitals because
their psychic defenses are weak.

| Exactly, Steve. I honestly don't associate the Seth experience with
any OOBE (another acronym we'd be better without: let's just say:
sopra-body, perhaps, unless that's worse) experiences, but rather
mind-link experiences; in Jane's case, a voluntary-temporary override.
Mediumship was a perfectly useful term once; why not bring it back
without [any] charlatanic overtones? Jane's virtues were obvious:
not a business; no tapes, no courses, no institute. Just the books.
Just voluntary consulting (again no fees). An exemplary life.
