(Sorry this note is late - SSB was Dec '96!)

A network kit is now available for DEC Ada Version 3.3 for Digital
    UNIX.

                                   NOTE

Please see note 2695 for terms and conditions of
this field test kit. This information is
important, and describes conditions for using and
            releasing this kit.

This is a follow on release to DEC Ada V3.2.

New features added for this release:

     o Unix 4.0n support.

o Updated Technical Summary and Compatibility Guide.

o Updated Developing Ada Programs on Digital UNIX systems.

o Enhanced Portability Summary; see Compatibility Guide.

     o gprof profiler support.

o -arch and -tune compiler switches.

o Problem fixes; see release notes.

DEC Ada requires a License Management Facility (LMF) PAK loaded on
the system to install and test DEC Ada. Internal users can obtain
a PAK from VTX PAK. The LMF product names for DEC Ada on Digital
    UNIX are:

     o ADAO - DEC Ada

     o ADAO-PDO - Professional Development Option

Information about future updates can be found in the TURRIS::ADA
    notesfile.

    1 RELEASE NOTES INFORMATION

We have an online copy of the field test release notes for your
    convenience.

         node exrad.zko.dec.com, /public/ADA330/release_notes.*

We suggest that you read these carefully before installing DEC Ada
    Version 3.3.

In particular, the following points should be noted, with
    references to the release notes:

     o This kit requires Unix 3.2G, 4.0, or 4.0B.

     o Unix 3.2G support, a new libada runtime, ADALIB322.

o Unix 4.0 support. We support UNIX 4.0, and recommend UNIX
4.0B. See release notes for details.

You must install ADALIB401, supplied on this kit.

ADALIB331, submitted to UNIX 4.0 and 4.0A is not supported.
ADALIB400, submitted to UNIX 4.0B has minor problems with
setting task priorities described in the release notes, but is
        otherwise identical to ADALIB401.

o This kit requires recompiling V3.2 Ada libraries due to a
change in Ada program library format.

    2 INSTALLATION INFORMATION

The kit is located in on node exrad, /public/ADA330. The decnet
address of exrad is 2.656. The Internet address of
exrad.zko.dec.com is 16.31.32.52 The kit is a tar file of a setld
    kit.

Please refer to the V3.3 installation guide in

         /public/ADA330/IGUIDE.*

prior to installing the product. We are expecting to update that
    guide later in this release.

The following steps are suggested for installing:

    1. Install Ada PAK; get from VTX PAK.

    2. Create and cd to local directory to contain the kit.

    3. Copy the kit

        Compiler:

             dcp exrad::/public/ADA330/ADALIB401.tar .
             dcp exrad::/public/ADA330/ADALIB322.tar .

                                     NOTE

                ADALIB401 is for Unix 4.0 only. ADALIB331,
which shipped with UNIX 4.0 and 4.0A is not
