| I have to add my congrats as well, JD. I can only dream of sub-3
marathons. I know you're disappointed at losing your faster pace
because of the hamstring cramps (I hate it when that happens) but 2:54
is nothing to sneeze at.

| JD,
Super job, JD. I'm envious! No marathons for me this year, but Twin
Cities is Sunday October 14th if you're interested. :*)
Were there a lot of hills? How would it compare with Boston or other
marathons you've run?

| Denny, Portland's really nice this time of year. Especially with me
giving JD my honorary Isiah Thomas jersey as a singlet.... now you
know why he ran so fast?

| Hey, thanks everyone, especially to Walt for lending me the little
princess' jersey. Only problem was, I kept running up behind folks
and rubbing their haids.
Spud - the course was tougher than advertised. Lots of uphills
and downhills - while none were real steep, most wer long sloping
hills. One went from about mile 12 to mile 16 down, then you turned
around and ran up it from 16 to 20. The downhills are what I attribute
to my hamstring problems - usually my calves hurt, this time it
was all quads and hamstrings.
There are about 4 or 5 DECCIES from back east running the twin cities
in a few weeks, so if you see any of it, look for them blue and
white DIGTIAL uniforms.

| Congrats, JD. Wow, I know two of the runners, JD and Dick Joseph.
JD, did Dick's wife Patti run, too? I saw the picture in DTW, and
I believe she was standing in front of you, right?
Keep up the good work.

| JD, Congrats! Congrats, JD!
Remember, though, when you're running to try and keep those huge lats
in tight to your body...lessens the wind resistence.....
