The Melbourne Cup is far and away Australia's most famous horse race.
It is conducted at the Flemington Racecourse, Melbourne, on the first
Tuesday in November. The race is so famous that Melbourne Cup Day is a
public holiday and even we DECCIES get it as a holiday.
The race is over 3200 meters which is close on two miles.
