Welch pitches in Oakland a pitchers park...Clemens pitches in fenway a
hitters park.....Please explain how this helps your argument that Welch
is a better pitcher...
>
> Clearly, Welch is the better pitcher and will win the Cy Young.
Welch has a better team behind him, a better bullpen behind him and
a better manager working with him...
Come up with some real arguments JoV (Jim on vaning)

If this was a Dave Stewart Vs. Roger Clemens debate this might
be a fair topic, considering Clemens only 2 losses before, that
debacle the other night against Baltimore were to Stewart. But
to compare Bob Welch makes no sense If Bob Welch pitched for the
Red Sox he wouldn't be a 500 pitcher.
And since Clemens has the inside track on the CY YOUNG this year
and has already won the award, has the record for most strikeouts
in the game and an MVP. this must be a April Fool's note
Welch vs. Bodicker Maybe?

| Hey Frankwa, while we're on the subject of Germany....were you into the
old band called "Triumvirat"? Pretty good early 70's German band.
I was re-arranging my records last night and came across one of their

No, I honestly have never heard of them. The Scorps were the first
German band that I really heard of.
There are vast differences between the European music scene and ours.
I like that band Europe, but I haven't the foggiest idea where they're
from.
One half of Milli Vanilli is German, I think...

I'll bet the Scorpions weren't the first German band you ever heard of.
What about Kraftwerk.

So let me get this straight, Midnight: You practice a wierd form of
idolatry that as a_initiation right requires you to worship a man
with a high-pitched woman-like voice who dates men dressed up as
women who take massive dosages of estrogen hoping to attract Dave so's
they too cain have ol' Dave stick that big tongue down their throats...
Is that it? Some crazy new form of black magic you're involved in?
Gimme a real man like Rocket Roger anyday. I'm no BoreSox fan, but
the guy has posted awesome numbers in a punk bandbox backed up by a
bum defense.
Clemens is GOD.

Oh, I see T ... so what you're saying is that you'd be glad to drop
your glove and wallet near Clemnts (tm) a whining, spolied petulant
brat, to be sure.
But he can also can brang that 'ole high hard one tight and inside eh ?

| Doc,
Clemens apparently doesn't the market cornered on whining.
Check out today's USA Today:
"With the exception of Carlton Fisk, Kittle and Calderon, maybe,
nobody over there can hold my jock"
At 9-6, at least we won't have to listen to him whine about the
Cy this year.

| Darryl, can bash Stewart all you want, but get the facts straight.
I saw the ESPN interview - take it with a grain of salt.
Secondly, Stewart's line yesterday was 10 IP, 6 hits 2 ER's, 9 K's
and zero walks. Most of his recent losses have been due to lack
of support.
Finally, Smoke will win the Si Yung (tm) this year - count on it.

| What facks(tm) did I state that were incorrect? That was a direct
quote from yesterday's USA Today. His record is 9-6 isn't it?
Whining and badmouthing the other team because they beat you fair and square
is not only classless, but unsportsmanlike.

| If I was a player on the White Sox other than Fisk, Kittle (how
did HIS name come up?) and Calderone, I would make sure that I clipped
that quote from the newspaper and read it every day for inspiration.
No matter how talented Stewart is (and he is one of the best in
baseball) his remarks were totally classless.

| Yeah but Stewart can afford to be cocky. After all he's guaranteed
a spot on the All Star team whether he wins another game or not.
LaRussa will put him on the roster no matter now many 10, 11, 12,
13, 14 or 15 game winners he'll have to pass by.

| Don't know about that, Slasher. He'll defintiely have Welch and
Eckersley from his own team but will also have to consider Stieb,
Eric King, Chuck Finley, the kid from Seattle who pitched the
no-hitter, Nolan Ryan Roger Clemens, Mike Boddicker along with
relievers Thigpen, Doug Jones, and Rick Aguillera. That, right there,
is 10 pitchers. How many usually get picked for the AS game?
