George Steinbrenner stated that Stump Merrill will be the coach of the Yankees until the end of the season. Cmon' George, who are you trying to kid????? With 19 managerial changes in the last 17 years, he's bound to get the itch to write out a pink slip before the end of the season. This note will be to predict when you think that Merrill will get the axe. There is no prize, only bragging rights. I personally think George will try to get a priest and a gravedigger and bring back Billy Martin. I say Merrill gets fired on August 12, 1990. JaKe
