I'm not sure if this is the right place for this note; if it isn't, please feel free to move it or leet me know where it does belong. In Fitchburg this past weekend there was supposed to be a sign up for Little League for the Fitchburg Eastern Little League and Gus Johnson Minor League at the Gus Johnson field. We went there yesterday at 1:00 p.m. as stated on a paper sent home from school - and no one official showed up - just a bunch of parents and kids. One of the parents had also gone the day before for sign-up and no one had showed. Does anybody know who you can contact to get your child registered to play in this particular league? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Bartle::Wellsd Thanks, Donna

Donna -- I don't live anywhere near there, but what I would do is call the school. If the paper came home from school, it seems to me that someone must have contacted the school to get the announcment sanctioned and passed out. There must be a record of that person at the school. Once you find out the person's name and address, I would advocate taking a Louisville Slugger and visiting them around, say, midnight. You might be able to talk some "sense" into the person (with the aid of "Louis"), or better yet, you could ensure that your child has a place in the starting lineup... But, seriously, try the school, or perhaps one of the local papers might know something.... Hope this helps, fw |
