| I'm no expert on baseball but I do follow the Sox with a passion,
and it was Tony C. breaking in as a "kid" that made me a life-long fan.
He played the game because he loved it and I never saw him dog it,
unlike 80% of today's players. He always attacked the ball and was the
most aggressive hitter I ever saw, and that probably led to his tragic
beanball accident. He just wouldn't give in to any pitcher. You'll be
sorely missed Tony... Rest in peace, Tony you deserved better.

| Well, no Sox fan here, but this kid did add an awful lot of excitement
when he came up to the Sox. Local boy, a basher, and no shrinking
violet with the press, either.
His name is in the record book already, but it does make you wonder
what he might have accomplished in his career if he hadn't had that
tragic beaning. Youngest player to ever hit 100 career homers.
Then again, since he'd been having a bad time with his heart, would
his not being beaned have mattered in regards to his lifespan?
He had it all, then lost it all. A tragic ending to what seemed
like such a promising career and life.
