Subj:	Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad

The Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad and Museum is a non-profit, all-volunteer
organization located at 58 Fore Street in Portland, ME 0410. Many already
know that this equipment is much of the former Edaville Railroad roster from
South Carver, MA which originally acquired it from the narrow gauge
railroads in Maine, more specifically the Bridgton & Harrison, Sandy River
& Rangely Lakes, Monson RR, and Wiscasset, Waterville & Farmington.

We currently operate on 1.4 miles of track along the scenic waterfront of=20
Portland's harbor with a view of Casco Bay. Plans are in the works to add to
    this if possible.

The operating schedule is daily from May 12 to October 14. We run a 1949 GE
typically on the hour from 11:00 to 4:00 p.m. However, our steam operating
schedule consists of most major weekends and includes special events.
Currently, we are operating a 1913 Vulcan 0-4-4T and a 1924 Baldwin 2-4-4T.

The next major weekends are Memorial Day, May 24-26, 1997, and Railfair,
June 14-15, 1997.

Other special steam events include the following:

July 4-6 Fireworks train, Jazz Festival (6th)
August 30-September 1 Labor Day
October 11-13 Columbus Day Weekend
November 28-30 Thanksgiving
December 20-21, 25-28, Holiday Season trains
     31, Jan. 1

Additional events will likely occur so anyone in the area can call the
Museum at (207) 828-0814 for current information on steam events.

The Museum is free. Group fares are available as well as senior citizen
discounts. Standard adult fare is $ 5.00 with children at $ 3.00.
